Just want to verify as I have the same situation. Did you just send the same birth certificate as originally submitted, just with the translation from the service you recommended? Or id you obtain a new one to have translated?

And best of luck with your interview.

Yes we sent a copy of the original birth certificate with the translation and the certificate of translation signed by the translator team.

  2. First let me explain our situation. I am my wifes sponser through K1.

We married in November 2019 in court but didnt have a party till December 2020. When my wife came over to the usa we lived in florida, then we moved to texas in the beginning of this year. I only have one lease that has her name on it but its handwritten on the lease as it was a private house not an apartment. We dont have a house in texas yet, been living in airbnb, waiting on our house to close, unfortunately since it was a new  build it doesnt have both our names on it, just mine but the eventual title will have both our names but we close after the interview...We both have seperate bank accounts and I dont have utilities with her name on them. I fear I may be missing joint evidence.

    WHAT I AM BRINGING:

    Main documents:

    Me (Husband Sponser)-

-Original and copy of Birth certificate for myself.

-Original and copy of my Us citizen naturalization certificate.

-Original and copy of my drivers license.

-Original and copy of my global access id.

-Original and copy of my current passport with travel stamps to Indonesia.

-Original of my previous passport with travel stamps to Indonesia, just bringing copy of the stamps.

-Original and copy of my social security.

    -Affadavit of support.

    -2 months of paystubs.

-Tax file 2018,2019,2020. 2019 and 2020 were filled as married jointly.

    -Tax transcript 2018,2019,2020.

    -W2 2018,2019,2020

-Letter from employer saying i work there full time, my salary, and start date back in march 2018.

    -Bank statements.

    -401k statements

    Her(Wife, aos applicant)

-Original and copy of her birth certificate.

Certified translation copy of her birth certificate. (This was requested in a RFE even though original is bilingual)

-Original and copy of her passport, visa and travel stamp to usa.

    -I 94 copy.

-Original and copy of her social security card.

-Original and copy of her EAD card.

-Original and copy of her state Id(unfortunately this expired January because we couldnt renew it in time while moving out of florida)

-Her vaccination copy Ds2054, one copy from me and original copy from jakarta. The real original was taken by immigration in the sealed packet on arrival.

-Original and copies of all notices received from USCIS, including interview notice, advance parole, EAD, I485 processing, and K1. Unfortunately the only original I dont have is the RFE as they requested it be sent back with the additional required birth certificate translation.

-Bank statements showing i regularly give her money which she uses to pay her credit card.

    EVIDENCE:

-Selected pictures from the beginning of our relationship, from going to bali, bandung and kalimantan when I used to visit her, and pictures in orlando and texas in the usa, also pictures of our late wedding party in december 2020 in nj.(married officially November 2019)

-Marriage certificate certified and its copy, they look almost identical. Florida literally just copies the original.

-Receipt from court for marriage payment, has our names on it.

    - Insurance benefit outline page from work that lists both our names for 2019, 2020, 2021.

    - Insurance card copies for each of us, both has our names.

-Screenshot confirming my wife is my beneficiary in my 401k

-Screenshot and email confirming that my wife is the beneficiary of my life insurance.

-Boarding passes of us both coming from Indonesia together.

-Boarding pass of one of our trips to visit my parents in NJ.

    - Itiniary of our flight trips in the usa including december when we had our wedding party.

-Itiniary from work when I made a trip to texas for housing hunting from florida with both our names.

-Airbnb receipts with both our names.

-Verizon phone bills, her phone number has her nickname(printed that page) but in the statements all the numbers including my sister are just named as under me, so idk if these will be helpful.

    OTHER:

-K1 COPY with all pages sent to uscis.

-I 485 copy with all pages sent to uscis.

-Old florida leases, with her before marriage name written as a person occupying the property with me.

-Our new house contract, unfortunately only has my name, signature and the companies signature. We had thought we would close before the interview and show those documents but that didnt happen.

Do you guys think I have enough items to prove our marriage? Please help we are getting nervous interview is Thursday..

  3. How do I explain this to the officer? Basically we got married in court in nov 2019 but didnt have time to do a party/ceremony with family since we lived in florida and most of my family lives in nj and nyc. And then covid hit a month or 2 later and we couldnt do anything,  eventually had a small party in December 2020 in nj. Our marriage certificate is from florida.

How do I explain this to the officer in a way to not trigger any issues? Is doing the party later ok with the k1 visa or that looks like fraud?

  4. So we are in a weird situation right now. Our AOS appointment is on the 22nd of this month and our house closing is on 28th. Unfortunately we have been living in hotels/airbnb while we wait for our house which has gotten delayed a couple of times due to supplier issues with the build.

Before the interview I have to fill out a couple of forms like the affidavit of support which asks for residence address. Do we put our future house as the residence address and let them know that we are not moved in yet? Or is that not a good idea? I can bring the house contract that has my name on it. Or do we just put in our airbnb address and let them know the situation if they ask?

  5. Our status changed to Interview scheduled in dallas fw area March 19 2021. I am a little worried because we have been moving around hotels, I bought a ups box and changed the address for that online but had to put my hotel as residence and the ups box as mailing address.

My question is how long does it take for the notice to arrive in the mail. I am hoping it didn't get sent to the hotel address by mistake?

Also how long after the notice do they usually set the interview?

I hope its not only a week or two out.

  6. Just to update this topic if anyone needs help in the future:

We got the RFE and used this service to translate it, also request a certificate of translation from them:

    https://rushtranslate.com/documents/birth-certificate

It seems like they accepted it because the status moved on to waiting for interview date. We sent it to the address listed on the RFE. WE have been waiting since april for an interview.

I'll wait to close..then send renewal.

Why? If you change your address and the EAD comes to the new one, then you're atleast sure USCIS got your new address right. USCIS is notorious for retaining old address.

    So what you'll do is:

    1. When you close, go online and do the AR11.

    2. Submit your EAD renewal with new address.

Thats what I was thinking but I hope they are fast with the application and my wife can get it before end of june.

  8. My wife is currently under adjustment of status pending through k1 visa since April 2020. We moved to Dallas, TX from Orlando, FL and I switched the address so maybe we need to wait even more as the case will transfer to texas. Her EAD will expire 6/2021. What documents do I need to send this time besides the i 765?

  9. my wife had her biometrics appointment in march and in april they changed it to be ready to be scheduled for an interview as the status. we received an rfe for her birth certificate being in a different language so we did an official translation and sent it before the end of the month.

To this day the status has not moved and we have not received a interview request. we are in orlando florida. Everytime we call uscis they dont have much info. I am guessing this delay is due to covid. Anyone else in a similar situation?

  10. I looked on their website

    Birth Certificates

Available. A birth certificate (Akte Kelahiran) may be obtained from the Civil Registry office (Dinas Kependudukan and Catatan Sipil) at the place within whose jurisdiction the birth took place. This certificate is available upon request throughout Indonesia.

Is this basically saying we gotta get it from indonesia again? Idk how thats possible with her being in the usa right now.

  11. My Wife just got a request for initial evidence to include a long form birth certificate.

"Submit a copy of the birth certificate of other primary birth record issue by the appropriate civil authority for the applicant. USCIS will only accept a long form birth certificate which lists at least one parent. If the birth certificate or other primary birth record is not available, you must submit acceptable secondary evidence and a letter from the government or other authority"

In the initial AOS package we included a copy of her original birth certificate and it is bilingual (SEE attached below). I am not sure why they did not accept it and where we would get a "long form" birth certificate done.

  12. Me and my wife want to travel to Indonesia while her AOS is being processed since we are married after she came to the USA with a K1 visa. We plan to file the I-131 under her legal name which is different than her name on her Indonesian passport.

We plan to book her ticket based on her maiden name since that is her name on her passport so there is no issues flying to Indonesia. We are worried that since we will file the I-131 under her official married name it will cause problems during reentry since her passport has her maiden name. Are we overthinking it?

Do you guys have any suggestions or experience with a similar situation? Thank you!

  13. In the K1 adjustment of status guide it says the following:

Write the full name and A# on the back using a soft felt tipped pen or pencil. Place in a plastic bag and label the bag "Photo of <Insert Name>". Attach the bag to a sheet of paper and place behind the I-485.

I am not sure if this A# is referencing an alien number (My wife (previously fiancee) does not have one at this time as far as I know) or does it reference the Admission record number on the I94?

  14. I got my NOA 2 on july 17, I called the NVC last week and they said they got my stuff on august 8.

They provided me the NVC tracking number which current says "At NVC" and for me to do the following:

"Please follow the instructions you received from the National Visa Center (NVC) that list the six steps you must take before NVC can schedule your visa interview appointment. This includes submitting to NVC various fees, forms and documents. Once NVC has received all the required items, they will let you know if anything is missing or incomplete. You can also find these instructions online at http://nvc.state.gov (English) and http://nvc.state.gov/espanol (Spanish). You will find contact information for NVC at http://nvc.state.gov/ask. "

I don't see these instructions listed in our guide. Is this some form they will send me later because I checked my mail today and there is nothing? Do I have to do anything at this time besides prepare my financial documents?

I am just worried if I don't pay the fee right now they won't process anything and stay at limbo but I can't pay without the invoice...

Please take a moment to complete your profile and timeline.  Thanks

I added more info to my previous post.

I would suggest to go to the sub-forum for Indonesia you should get better answers relating to the process at the embassy there (plus they should have a required documents list

Thank you! I really appreciate the help. How do I get to the sub forums? I am not seeing it in the forum listing.

  16. I have received my NOA2 approval and I am wondering what forms I need to gather to send to my fiance. From the guide it says the following but I am a bit confused. If you guys could answer my questions in red it would be kindly appreciated.

    (A) Statement from an officer of the bank/financial institution with your deposits, identifying the following: 1. date account opened; 2. total amount deposited for the past year; 3. present balance

Is this some sort of letter from the bank showing that information or is it just a bank statement?
    (B) Statement(s) from your employer on business stationary showing: 1. Date and nature of employment; 2. salary paid; 3. whether position is temporary or permanent (also include copies of your last two pay stubs and your previous W-2 for the associated employer if available)

I understand the part about the two paystubs but what about this? "1. Date and nature of employment; 2. salary paid; 3. whether position is temporary or permanent" Does this have to be a letter from the employer or something like an offer letter would work that I first received when starting the job?

    Thank you guys!

And if you met on an online dating site you might want to print out and add the TOS pages of the site into your application. Some people run into trouble later with this especially if USCIS is not familiar with the dating site. Better to be safe than sorry.

We met on OKCUPID. Should I include their terms of service? Its a pretty well known site and I listed it on the evidence of meeting page explaining how we met.

Airline reservations tend to be insufficient since it is circumstantial and doesn't prove you've actually taken the trip. Passport stamps are good. Boarding passes are good. Even luggage tags if they show date and name. Pictures prove the meeting but not a 2 year time frame.

2 letters of intent, the one from your beneficiary doesn't have to be wet signed are safest. Make sure you answer all criminal qeustions and IMBRA question.

Unfortunately threw away boarding passes but I printed out the boarding pass pictures I took with my phone. They are clear enough to make out the details. I printed the reservations as well credit card statement with payment to united. I also added statements with withdrawals overseas. I wrote the date on the back of the pictures. Should I include time stamped pictures or is my other evidence enough?

Heres a full list of stuff included based on feedback:

    1.      Flight reservations and credit card receipts.

    2.      Hotel reservations and receipts

    3.      Credit card statement with withdrawals in Indonesia

    4.      Bank statements with international withdrawals

    5.      Boarding pass pictures

    6.      Train reservations in Indonesia

    7.      Passport stamps

    8.      Color photographs with names, date and location on back of photos (handwritten)

    9.      Call logs of whatsapp for continued relationship
