Appears to be quite a hefty pack. Did you send a lot of evidence with your petition?

Mine was very thick and they didn't reinforce the envelope. It barely made it to the POE. And I even put it in a plastic wallet to protect it during the journey.

I don’t think I submitted too much evidence. We used the services of a well-known visa help company to put the petition together for us. There was only about 6 pictures and some flight and hotel records. I did need to get additional lab tests for medical (all came back fine).

I did submit quite a bit of financial stuff at the interview: a full tax return, and bank statements and pay stubs. That’s probably what did it if that’s all in there.

  2. I picked up the envelope containing my passport and k1 visa from the post office about 3 weeks ago. I did not open the envelope that says “Do not open” but I was wondering if it is normal that the envelope is covered in tape? Is this a thing they do to to reinforce the envelope?

I am worrying that the envelope may have been tampered with somehow  (and will cause me problems at POE) although the plastic package it was all in was in good condition.

  3. I have a problem where my birth certificate (Canada) lists 4 names under my given name as well as a last name.

My whole life I have not used the 3 extra given names. They do not show up on provincial documents, financial records, or education records. They don’t show up on my passport either.

I filed the I-129f using my full name as it shows up on my birth certificate. The NOA1 could not fit all if it. The NOA2 from the NVC has now dropped my 3 extra names completely (although my fiance’s middle name still shows up).

I am now becoming increasingly concerned about this discrepency although I have not received a RFE or anything else. Should I get a new passport made before the interview? I have not completed the DS160 yet.

People seem to have had no issues with a new passport before interviews (if their old passport was simply expiring), but would a new name on my passport raise concerns even though it would simply be correcting it to my full name as it is shown on my birth certificate?

Also, will having no other ID’s with my full name be a problem when Adjusting status?

I only have an old ID from another province (about a year old, I moved last summer), that shows most of my full name, it still could not fit one of the given names.
