Hello, please has anyone had any issue recieving green card after 120days. I contacted them severally and finally got this information..

"However, USCIS is still trying to locate your Department of State (DOS) issued Immigrant Visa (IV) Packet, which should have been sent to USCIS by DOS or the Port of Entry (POE) when you entered the United States. USCIS requires a completed IV Packet in order to process your Permanent Resident Card (PRC)."

Please share your experience if any? The stamp on my passport will soon expire cos it's almost a year.

Did you pay $220 green card fees?

Hi guys, I read almost all the posts since 2018 and I have a few questions.

My name is Sebastian, I’m from Romania, 25yrs old, graduated computer science engineering in 2017. I’ve been to USA multiple times as a j1 but I couldnt find a job in my field”IT/engineering”. I’ve been digging the internet for the past few months, contacted companies and asked for h1b/eb3(it jobs) but I couldnt find any employer who would help me out. The only company who can help me find a job is “mercan.com” they seem to be legit, they charge

9-10k(4.5k deposit and the rest if i140 is approved) The issue with that company is that they have housekeeping jobs. I spoke with an immigration attorney and having a housekeeping eb3 with a bachelors degree in engineering wouldnt be a good idea. Why? It would raise questions at the green card interview.

Can anyone help me with any info please? I dont know how or where to find a job. I tried linkedIN, glassdoor.com, indeed, myvisajobs.com(searched for employers who filed h1b in the past and I called a bunch of companies). Not sure if it’s an isssue but most of them were indian companies, and rejected me instantly after telling them I’m from romania, Europe.

Sebastian you can apply for the diversity lottery visa www.dvlottery.state.gov

Which will hold on October to November or take your chance with mercan or do both.

It was the easiest part of this whole process. They just took me to another window, then the officer just stamped my passport and said "welcome to the United States you will receive your green card in the mail shortly". The embassy interview is definitely the hardest part. Good luck!

Nice what about the immigrant packet given to you by the embassy

  4. Guys I am contemplating in between choosing between Eb3skilled or Eb3 unskilled visa to immigrate to USA.

So am a graduate of history and international studies graduate but I haven't had any work experience in my field since I graduated because the job I had didn't relate to the course I studied in university due to lack of jobs in my country and I heard eb3 skilled visa requires some experience in your field of study while eb3 unskilled visa doesn't require any work experience and degree.

So guys should I go ahead with the eb3 skilled visa or eb3 unskilled visa? I also noticed that those that get sponsored for eb3 skilled visa a lot studied computer science or medical related course, I don't know if I am right

Nope your number is wrong, Nigerians are typically issued 7k-9k immigrant visas per year (in some recent years it has been almost 10k) at embassies/consulates and yes you need to add adjustment of status in as well as they are immigrants.  I don’t know the AOS  numbers but clearly they don’t need to be that high to tip total immigrants to average 10k a year.

    data for consular issuance https://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/Statistics/AnnualReports/FY2018AnnualReport/FY18AnnualReport - TableXIV.pdf

remember trends tend to rise because as people immigrate they sponsor family members, who sponsor more when they come, etc. it’s not going to necessarily increase every year but very likely to over time.

Wow thanks Susie, checked the numbers for the past five years almost 50,000(without counting Aos cases) I guess I have to take my mind off dvlottery for now

There have been a couple of cases where a country has gone back on the eligibility list but that tends to be quite special circumstances (like when Poland joined the EU, so everyone could easily go to Western Europe and lost interest in the US). You can follow the migration data to see if the relevant immigrant numbers from Nigeria fall below 50000 over a 5-year period, which is when it would become eligible again.

Thank you susie, does this number include non immigrants visas and adjustment of status as well? Because the number of immigrants for the past 5years through the past five years was 20,603
