  1. You can call your local card services office and ask if they received the SSN application from USCIS.

We received EAD April 21, called SSA a week later and they said it can take 4-6 weeks for them to receive the application.

In the end, it was processed on May 11.

I went to the USCIS website and put the form type and “National Benefits Center” for the Place. It says “September 28, 2019.” My husband also talked to the immigration department within our congressman’s office and they pulled up his information. They were the ones who corrected us on the location of where the paperwork was being processed. The K1 was processed through California so we made the assumption it was the same without paying attention to his notification 🤦🏾‍♀️

Is the information you have for the National Benefits Center? Every center is different. If so, we will be glad if everyone is telling us something wrong. We were sure it would be sometime in the next two weeks until today.

Also, since you expedited it, it makes sense for it to be processed in June. We are trying to figure out if we should try for the same.

This is what the September 28, 2019 date refers to:

We have posted a “Receipt date for a case inquiry" in the table below to show when you can inquire about your case. If your receipt date is before the “Receipt date for a case inquiry", you can submit an “outside normal processing time” service request online.

The current estimated time range for EAD is 6-8 months. According to USCIS, this means 50% are processed by 6 months and 93% by 8 months.

I'm curious what happens at the end of April if we don't have an update.  If we call, would they check into our specific case?

I was checking the Case Tracker app and looking at 500 cases at a time.  I went back 250,000 cases before ours (approx. September 2019 filing) and then looking 25-50,000 ahead each time and there are a lot of cases still pending approval:

Our case is in the highlighted block range.

Unfortunately, they'll only raise your case if it's past the receipt date (current at Aug 26th). Otherwise they'll tell you to keep waiting.

Hi everyone I'm a 10th Sept filer. I don't have any updates new after these: 1. I-765 Fingerprints were taken (October), I-131 Case was received (Sept) and I-485 Response to RFEI was received (Nov).

Is anyone in the same situation like me? I called them last week and they told me that I have to wait at less 2 months more, because USCIS is working now in 29th June applications.

I'm reading a lot of September filers with updates, interviews and EAD ready. :( I'm in DC area. It is frustrating.

I'm in the same situation, 9/16 filer and ready to interview since 12/5 with no EAD

I checked the processing times this week and it was extended even further by another half month.

They're now on June 12th applications..

Hi all, my wife did not apply for the AP/ EAD combo card. She has her EAD card only and we want to travel within the US domestically. I am pretty sure she is ok to get on the plane as long as she stays in the US without AP. Can anyone confirm or has anyone experienced this?

    Thanks in advance.

She can travel domestic with her passport. We flew last month from east coast to west coast with just her passport. They only checked the bio page.

I have a question for the people who has got RFE’s, I got one but my letter isn’t here yet, my question is... what do i send back to them? I know I will have to send whatever they ask from me but do i send a cover letter? Do I send back the RFE letter? Can i send any additional information aside from what they ask me? Can someone help me?

I included a cover letter with mine, not sure if it's mandatory. It shouldn't be a negative to send one anyway.

You will also need to send back the original letter you received as stated in the letter.

I believe it's best to send exactly what they ask for in the letter. Additional information should only be sent if it's supporting the RFE

thanks for your reply. may i also ask who signed the notarial certificate for you. is he/she a lawyer or work for the government?

btw, my BC was issued from Macau and the BC and translation that i submitted originally are with the official embossed round seal which i thought would be considered as notarized.

    thanks.

We got it from the local notarial office in Guangzhou and signed by them. The notarial certificate is called 出生公证书.

For Macau, it doesn't look like there is a notarial certificate? You may have to talk to someone more informed.

hi all, i recently receive a RFE with request of my Notarial Certificate of Birth (as picture below). my question is, i'm pretty sure that i had enclosed my original birth certificate and a translation document in the file which are both side printed. should i send it in one side printed copy instead to fix it? i'm a bit confused here and would like to know if anyone can share your experience or opinion.

    thanks

I think there are different requirements depending on the country. We provided a signed notarial certificate and translation for the birth certificate in addition to the birth certificate and translation.

I called and the representative said everything looks great, make sure I take i693 to interview whenever it gets scheduled.so🤷

Hi, that's not an RFE, it's a courtesy letter and you don't need to mail in any response unless you receive a followup RFE for it.

They are just reminding you that you didn't send the i693 and it'll be needed during the interview.

  10. Hi, I'm a US Citizen planning to sponsor my soon to be spouse. I only have my 2016, 2017, and 2018 W-2 forms/tax returns. I made 25,000 in 2016 and 40,000 in 2017. For 2018, I was unemployed for the first few months and only have 19,000 on my W-2. However, I am still employed full time and will make over 35,000 in salary this year. I also have $9000 set aside in a bank account.

My question is if I would still need a joint sponsor for the I-864? I didn't have the $9000 set aside last year but will have it for the duration of the AOS process.

I can also get an employment letter from my employer. Will this be enough to cover the I-864 income requirements?

I haven't filed my 2018 taxes yet but I would like to do so soon. Is there any reason I should wait to process the concurrent filing before filing my taxes since the deadline is in April?

Also, I was not married on Dec 31, 2018. In this case, I would still file my tax return as singe? Thanks!
