  1. I submitted all the financial and supporting documents for my sisters cr1/ir1 case, the scan date is April 8, 2015. It took forever for the IV fee bill to generate then be paid. I was in the process of filling out the ds260. Yesterday, received an email for a checklist: To fill out ds260. Just submitted that right now. On the checklist it also says it should take 30 days to process.

Does this mean they have reviewed the aos and supporting documents yet and just need to review ds260?

Anyone with a similar experience? I'm just dreading another checklist, I thought I would have plenty of time to submit ds260. But its awesome to hear back quick!

  2. I'm the agent for my sisters case, have been waiting 45 days for the iv fee to be invoiced. Called nvc today at 1:10 waited 30 mins finally got a representative who was no help. She said they were backlogged and the current timeframe is 30 days... I said I've been waiting 45 days. She said sorry its taking longer. I asked her if she could review it over the phone, she no that wasn't possible, I will just have to wait for that department to review it. I also submitted the financial and supporting documents today. And will keep calling everyday.

  3. Hi everyone,

My sister is sponsoring her husband and has never worked, she was a high school student, so her income is 0.

I am single and share the same residence as my sister. My income is $22,832. As we were filling out form i864 for her, I realized we didn't meet the federal poverty level for 3 household members which is $25,112.

Now my question is can we also include our other sister, who shares same residence to fill out 1-864A... Her income is about $12,000. Which will get us total $37,112 and federal poverty level for 4 is $30,312.

Or should we both be joint sponsors to our sister whose income is 0? Which method is better?

  4. Hi everyone,

Quick question for those who have had a similar experience or might be able to help. My sister married in August and filed i130 on October 2014... She was 3 months pregnant and started to miscarry in December... After that she became really depressed and wanted to go back to her husband so in Jan she went to Pakistan. I'm her agent and I just paid the AOS fee today.

My question is that she is 18.. Was in high school and never had worked so I will be her joint sponsor. She is planning on coming back this summer. Will there be any issue since she is temporarily visiting her husband and is not in USA. I planned to mail her the AOS, have her sign it and mail it back to me so k could mail everything in.

    Thank you in advance!

  5. Hey all,

I hope im in the right forum to ask this question.... My mom she is 47 years old permanent resident of va for over 10 years and has Kidney failure... She is on dialysis and Hopefully this summer my 19 year old sister is going to donate her kidney to my mom because she is a match. My mom wanted her 74 year old father to be here through this process. She can not travel, and she has not seen him for a while. So I filled out all the forms and stuff and sent them to my grandpa (by the way he lives in islamabad PAKISTAN), he took the forms to American express and they gave him interview date the next day for MAY 1, 2009. He went and he provided them with The doctor letters, and proof that he will pay his own expenses. But they didn't even ask him anything or looked at anything, took about 1 min. All they asked him was how long he was planning to stay and he said a couple of months. They then took his passport and told him you have been approved American express will contact you in a couple of days to pick up your passport. Since then no news... he has gone to the embassy and American express office and all they tell him is to wait, that when we have your passport we will call you.

I really don't know what to make of this, Im assuming he has been put on background check...? whats your opinion on this, or if you have had a similar experience, or any advice at all???? I live in VA and a friend suggested that I call the senator and ask for help since I did vote for him... any advice, suggestions, help in any way would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

    hey again......

all right no response.... lol... anyway i just wanted to let u all know some things which might save u time or help u in some way... i contacted senator Jim Webbs office... they were very polite efficient and helpful... i wrote a letter explaining our situation... i had a response within a week... they contacted Pakistan embassy and inquired about the case.. they sent me a copy of the response they received which basically just said my grandpa is on background check... and they dont know how long it will take... and when they are done they will contact him... blah blah blah... so my point is if ur in this situation... dont waste ur time and energy... with contacting political ppl to help u out... I know sometimes u need something... some hope... some need... but in the end u just have to hold on... its been over 2 months and still no passport...

CONGRATS CONGRATS CONGRATS!! How long was your case in ISB? We've JUST started ours over there....my husband got his 3.5 yesterday......all the best to everyone!

  8. Thanks so much! I did E-mail the embassy on FRIDAY.. now its thursday! and no response, Im gona e-mail them again right now! And yes this is MORE than frustrating!!! But Alhumdolillah..

    Hey everyone,

I just wanted to know if anyone had been throug this situation... Last week the islamabad consulate called my husband and told him.. your case is completed and we are ready to send ur passport to courier service, but first you will need to submit a new police certificate because your old one expires.

On friday, Nov. 2, my husband submited a new police certificate. Since then we havnt heard anything. My father is in pakistan right now.. and he is coming back next week on NOV. 13. I really wanted my husband to come back with him. I dont want my dad to cancel his flight and then have to wait for weeks before my husband gets his passport!

Have any advice? How long do you think it might be before they call him to get his passport?? Has anyone ever submited something that they asked for after completing your case.. how long did you have to wait for your passport??

Thanksss in advance for all your help and advice!

You should email the Embassy of Islamabad at PakIVInfo@state.gov and use your case number with ISL in the subject line. I emailed them a few times and they were able to answer back. I know its frustrating but you don't have many choices. Good Luck and Keep your Faith in Allah.

  9. salam,

Im sorry to hear about your situation, but unfortunetly there is NOTHING anyone can do. Some people have contacted their senators but said it was no help at all. And contacts inside the embassy can not do anything either until DOS clears ur name... their is no timeframe.. it can take weeks, months, years. here is their number 202-663-1225 ( press 1, 0)..Dont give up hope, because one day out of the blue they will call u about your brothers case. May Allah give your mom patience and I hope your brother comes here soon, Ameen. Take care and Best of luck!

    Hello Every One,

first of all congratulations and Kudos to those who came up with the idea of having a platform like this. My family is also a vicitm of immg. visa delay .We were supponsored by our parents in 1998 for family visa . Me and my two other brothers came in 199 since we were not married . Unfortunately my eldest brother who was married at that time was not granted to vis because he was maried . we waited patientky until 2006 when finally his turn came . Ever so scared of the out come of the interview , we made every effort to make sure our documents were ready . They did not find anything wrong with the dcuments but used "admin processing" and DNA testing as a tool not to grant visa to my brother . we spend over a thousand dollar to have DNA expedited but when they recieved the Positive results of DNA they told us that now "Admin Processing" for which they gave us 45 to 60 days orginally changed in to un limited maximum time. It was may 2006 when the interview was held. Since then we send them e-mail every month but they tell us to wait and they cannot even tell us what stage we are at . Me and my brothers who are here can understand the security requirements but unfortunately my mother who lost her husband ( my dad) in 2003 is getting depressed with every single day that goes by. I want to do it for her.

I wanted to ask the following questions to all you folks .

1- Does any one know how much a security case clearance for pakistan can take

2- is there any one in US we can contact to request to have the process expedited .

3- are there any contacts in US embassy in Islamabad who can help us .

I will greatly appriciate your help .

    Thanks

    Hassan
