  1. When i contact the embassy i get put on hold then sent back to the beginning and then they hang up on me. Im thinking my senator and congressmen r just chilling and just wrote me a letter so i can stop calling them every day. Well im waiting to see where our case will end up before we refile. Now my opinion is that our case was put together nicely, but it is my opinion on that.

if you do decide to get married and refile then use that opportunity to front-load your application by submitting tons of evidence and especillay letter from relatives, I hear it helps. We have a saying where I come from that when an elder holds up what belongs to a child, they will put their hands down once it starts aching them; what's yours will surely come to you.

  2. Pushbrk,

Thanks for the reply. I agree and disagree with your post. I agree with your post to extent that calling each other husband wife on emails would be a problem. But we honestly didnt know that. If we had knew, Im sure the outcome of this case would have been a little different. I disagree with your post because I do feel indeed that most VJ members on this website do bash each others cultures. Like I said before, this visa journey is a long and difficult journey. I really feel as adults (Im presuming) that we be more considerate and sensitive when reply or advicing couples. No one in their right state of mind being in the situation Im in wants to hear "I told you so, How did you not know, Why did you do that" etc belittleing comments of such. Am I having a visa interview with another CO or a VJ member? That can lower ones intergrity and thats not fair. I hear time and time again Your dealing with the highest fraud consulate. Were not the only one. I really wish that people on this website can show more empathy towards fellow members. Nothing else is impacting my case status. What I posted is what really happened during the interview. I just feel if no one has any good advice or words of encouragement, then dont post a response. Its just that simple. We VJ members are hear on this website for the same purpose: to migrate and be with their loved ones and have a smooth visa journey so that the process will not be difficult.People need to be mindful of what they say to others. Its not what you say, its how you say it.

Nne like I said earlier, if anyone attacks any Nigerian on here again or makes any derogatory remarks it will not me on my watch. The worst they can do is use their so-called admin powers to remove my posts or block my ip address. People go thru enough stress going thru Lagos embassy without needing some cold-hearted people on here giving reminding them of that. If their only claim to power is vj, too bad.

I will be praying for you and I am sure your hubby will be fine when he takes in the evidence needed this week. Ogadicha nma. It is well. Stay Blessed.

  3. Hello VJ members,

My fiancee was issued a 221g requesting additional documents on January 14 2010 after his second interview from the Lagos Consulate to prove that I last visited Nigeria 1985. I FedEx my passport from when I was a baby. So the question is: providing that the documents are given, whats the next step? Does he have to do another interview? Your help will be greatly appreciated. Thank You

I doubt he will have another interview since all they requested for is the passport/travel details. Once she's satisfied with the document then he will most likely be given a date to come pick up his visa. The end is near.

  4. Fresh off the AP wire is that in light of the tragedy in Haiti, President Obama is granting illegal status Haitians immunity to stay in the USA. Obama's view was that it wouldn't be fair to send them back to Haiti because of the devestation that occured there.

I for one feel the deepest of sympathy for people of Haiti but REALLY???? Immunity from deportation because Haiti suffered an earthquake????

I personally feel like people from Haiti (and all over the world) are welcome to immigrate LEGALLY to the USA, but since when does an earthquake qualify somone basically for asylum in the USA?

There are natural disasters all over the world on a regular basis (ie: the tsunami which all but destroyed Indonasia several years ago) that are tragic in their occurance, but victims of THOSE disaters weren't afforded any special immigration status.

I'm waiting for my fiancee's visa to be LEGALLY processed (as we all are on this forum) and I'm just a little insulted by President Obams's actions.

Do you have a soul? And really if Obama decides to do this, i'm sure you know there is nothing YOU can do about it. You have obviously let your emotions becloud your sense of reasoning!

  5. Around 2oclock my time this morning my fiancee called me to let me know that Lagos Consulate called him in second interview January 14,2010. Oh my God God is soo good. They told him to bring additional documents.

Nne congrats o! It is well!!!:dance::dance:

  6. OP, going by the thread you started...I don't think you can call any response on here stupid. I don't think the number of men who petition from Morrocco are anywhere as much as the amount of women who seek to marry foreign men who IMHO as old enough to be their fathers!!! What was your motive for starting this thread in the first place?

    P:S

Why do so many PI lady marry older men from the states compared to other countries? Can you shed some light on that?

  7. The new certificate comes with a cover letter which breaks down everything and NO LIVE TRACE means there is a record but probably spent..so he needs to make sure he gets details of the conviction or whatever details they have of him to explain at the interview. Better to be safe than sorry. All the best.

  8. Hey Marm it's sad you are still waiting in this AP hole, I do think you will hear from them by then since they have your fiance's passport and they are aware of his visa details which is why they are taking their jolly time. But you both should start making contingency plans if you don't hear from them by end of October, request his passport and get his ticket ready.

I say end of October considering how long it takes for London to respond to emails and for you no to be caught off-guard by their inefficiency. I can't believe they are still holding on to his passport especially considering he is a foreigner in the UK...that's just inconsiderate. DON'T cancel the K-1 but then IF for any reason he has to go back to Pakistan without the visa then you can request for the case to be transfered to Islamabad. You can then go ahead and get married if you think that's the best option but I would say you should wait out the decision on the K-1 before doing that.

Just my thoughts though and I look forward to hearing good news from you soon. Have a blessed month!
