Yup, contact them and let them know what happened. They will request that you send it back to them to verify documents (to ensure nothing was tampered with) and reseal it.
Not sure how one misses the large "DO NOT OPEN OR EVEN ATTEMPT TO OPEN" notice, or large print warning symbols.
I guess when you're over-excited you miss a lot of things. but thanks, and will post an update here soon

Yes, contact the Embassy. They can reseal it. Be prepared that they will scold you and give you hard time, but eventually they will do it.
Thank you so much for the advice!

Expect some push back. They will need to re-establish chain of custody for all papers in the package and they will verify each one. About a year or so ago there was a person that may not have been quite as contrite as they felt he should be and they took 2 weeks to return the sealed envelope. I think a lot of that was because he was complaining that he was going to miss is flight because they were taking so long.
Apologize and don't get defensive when they ask you how you missed those big bold black letters on the envelope telling you not to open or attempt to open the package. Take your hits and you will walk out with a newly certified and sealed package.
Thanks! I am very much regretful for my inadvertence and I hope that doesn't change anything with the visa.

How do you possibly miss the warning labels? Get them to reseal it. Next time do your due diligence before just opening stuff.
Sure, thanks for the advice. i will update you

OK. So what and what was in it after you opened it satisfy your curiosity?
I honestly don't know. I only opened it for the purpose of pulling out my passport.

2.) Again, no choice.
THis is hoping I can have it mailed instead of bringing it with me personally

Thanks! Is it alright to let the weekend pass? Since the Embassy is closed on weekends. I was told that I can send it back but I want to make sure and contact them first.

I received my VISA packet today and overlooked the warning not to open it. I am worried. Does anyone know what to do?
