  1. I had my interview at the US consulate in Frankfurt, Germany yesterday. The questions didn't surprise me at all and after the interview I was told that my visa is on temporary hold and that they require more information. I got the Email to fill out the DS-5535 and sent in all the information asked of me before they opened up today.

I just can't wrap my head around why they gave me the DS-5535 considering I was born in Germany and lived in Germany all my life. In my interview they were a bit skeptical because I entered the United States after signing my work contract, although not to work since I'm not legally allowed to work without a visa, it was strictly a visit to get to know people. I have not been paid at all since signing my contract with my US based employer.

I've been to the United States several times, always on an ESTA, never overstayed, no criminal record nothing that could be seen as problematic. I've seen people in here wait months and months for their visa to be approved, the officer told me that they will most likely need 2 to maybe 3 weeks to process the extra information. Can someone tell me how likely I am to be approved, how long it might take in my case and what could have triggered the extra information to be requested?

EDIT: Case was created on the 28th of January and is currently in Administrative Processing
