Hi all,
👋👋
I filed a Re-entry permit for my mother (Application for travel document) a couple of months ago. I paid $575.00 fee online (BIG mistake, paid with my credit card online I should have re-searched more). I sent the package to USCIS with a copy of my transaction (payment details). Weeks later I got a Rejection Notice, the reason: Payment fee was incomplete or not received and it has been rejected.
I sent package back, this time I filled G-1450 form (Authorization for Credit Card Transactions) with the correct amount ($680.00). From there, everything went well. Process is fine, my problem is, my first payment was never refunded.
Later on, I found out there is no online payment for Re-Entry process (I don't know what was I thinking, I shouldn't have paid online).
Since then, I called USCIS multiple times, no help. Last, they entered a claim for me, I got an email saying to send a letter explaining what happened and to include a copy of the first transaction for review. I am sending the letter tomorrow, but I don't understand why they didn't refund it as letter said it was.
I read everywhere USCIS does not refund, will only make a refund if USCIS makes an error or a fee was improperly collected. A refund may be issued in the event USCIS does not meet the guaranteed 15 calendar day processing period for premium processing under specific conditions, or due to a USCIS error (as identified in the CFR Section 103.7). No refunds or returns will be honored for user errors or in the event of an application cancellation or withdrawal request.
Am I out of luck? Anyone with same issue?
Please no bashing. 😔😟

You are typically scheduled for biometrics within a couple of weeks of submitting the application.
So I will be safe to delay her flight around 6 weeks? I know it's not guaranteed but I don't want to reschedule it again, it's too expensive!

Hi all,
I've received the Notice of Action for my I-131 application for travel document process I started for my mother, just a couple of days ago. It says:
Next Steps:
USCIS will schedule a biometrics appointment for you to have your biometrics electronically captured at a USCIS application support center. You will be receiving a biometric appointment notice in the mail with the specific date, time and place where you will be having your fingerprint and/ or photographs taken.
You must wait to receive your biometrics appointment notice before going to the ASC.
Her flight was this coming Sunday, I need to reschedule it but I want to know how long it takes to receive the appointment date/ time letter in the mail and estimate date of appointment.
Please help!

The stamp just acts as a green card. Her current green card does exact the same thing, unless it will expire in less than a year (the stamp is valid for 1 year max).
She should have a 10 year green card, so expiration in the next few years isn't an issue...making the stamp useless. Edit: Unless she got the green card due to a marriage of under 2 years at the time...I assumed she got it via you but I realize this was not explicitly stated.
Yes, I petitioned her. She has a 10 years grencard.

Hi all,
My mother is a Permanent Resident, she received her greencard in 2017. She needs to travel back to my country next month (urgent matter due to medical reasons) I don't know how long she will stay there, probably a year and a half or so.
What is the fastest way to process Re-entry Permit?
Refund - paid twice to USCIS
in USCIS Service Centers

Yes, it does.
