  1. So the drama continues..

Packet 3 and 4 are on their way back to me from my husband the US, I'm still waiting. I'm pretty sure I'll need to get myself in for a medical before they close over the Christmas break (20th December) in order to receive the report back in time for my interview on Jan 22nd.

I emailed the US consulate asking what I should do in that case that my medical is not ready in time for my appointment (due to Xmas etc).

They said I can still go to the interview and they will "temporarily refuse" me. They said I can then send the medical report once its ready and they will then "process to conclusion", and that I "would not need to attend another interview".

Has anyone heard of this? Why wouldn't they just reschedule my interview?

lawd....because they don't need to reschedule it and push you further down the line (something which I'm sure you'd be screaming about if they did). for them the medical is just paperwork. they can view it when you're not there.

  2. Hey everyone, i am currently trying to put together all my documents for filing AOS. I entered US on a K-1 visa. Just wondering what kind of medical information i need to submit? From reading the forums, i am getting confused. I have with me a copy of the medical form that i used to get my K-1 visa (form DS3025). Do i just send in this form along with my I-485 or do i need to have a civil surgeon complete a form I-693A for me??

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks

    Jo

some people wing it and just use the ds form, otherwise do a search for L.E Arnold, a civil surgeon you can mail the ds to and they'll transcribe it for 10bucks and mail it back..

  3. Congrats for getting an interview date, HD. That's what I want for Christmas, a DATE!

Your immunity test should only take a week at the most - did you get it done at an IMVS? Give your doctor a call because they really should have it by now.

I hope to lodge in my Readiness to Interview by COB tomorrow! Going by the date that you got, I probably won't get an interview date until late January or early February. The only thing we're collating now is the Affidavit of Support.

Hi Pat - thanks, we are so wrapped to have a date. But like I said, a little on edge because we are not quite ready for the medical and I am in the States for almost 3 weeks over Christmas!

I am going to have to try and get my apt with the panel physician (ex rays and all completed) before next THURSDAY! Do you think that's realistic? Do you have to go back more than one time or is it all done in one apt?

Had another look at the forms you uploaded from your panel physician and it looks like the only vaccinations that apply to a 28 year old would be TD, chicken pox and MMR. Is that right? In that case I need an MMR booster which I can get tomorrow (I have had the others).

I got the immunity test done by my ordinary GP, apparently the test was sent to Royal Childrens Hospital in Sydney for some reasoN and this is why it's taking soooo long!?

Good luck with getting all of your stuff finalised Pat.. hope you also get a date soon!

don't stress about getting immunity tests back before you go, just let the doc know that maybe there has been a delay/mixup in getting them back...they'll just do the physical part of the exam and when you get the results fax them over, you don't need another appointment with them or anything like that, they just need to sight it.

  4. thanks, I was actually pretty impressed with the timeliness of it all (cept my ead never showed up but meh) considering everybody was expecting delays and all that due to the influx of applications to beat the rate rise...my processing time even included an rfe, and I never bothered with that whole tb skin test thingy...

I'm sure yours will be right around the corner :)

to clarify, (since I can't edit for some reason) the rfe was for tax stuff that (accidentally) wasn't originally provided...w2's..1099's...3.14159265358979's and the like, not for the tb thing. For anyone else about to apply for aos, that extra skin test is unnecessary, although nobody seems to be talking about it anymore so it's probably already established...just a lil fyi :)

  6. hey everyone...

has anyone had their entry point into the US thru san francisco (yeah i'm having my panic attack)......... i've got like a 2 hour window and everyone tells me i'll be fine that immigration wont take that long but i dunno....

i guess i'll just run off the plane and push in line!!!

it's hard to say whether or not that will be enough time because it really depends on a lot of things..what happens to your flight before it leaves, while it's in the air, when it lands, when you can disembark the plane, what is happening at the airport before, on and after your arrival.

Eg, my flight left late because some dolt was refused entry @ customs and they had to fish their bags out etc so we took off 30mins late, didn't really make up any time in the air and due to our lateness we came in minutes after another plane had landed and therefore you were several hundred people back in the line even if you were the first off the flight. Don't stress, if you miss your connecting flights for something like that you will be rebooked no problem..just make sure you're issued paper tickets for your flights at your checkin in aus.

My main point is don't stress or have panic attacks over something like that, it's completely out of your control, there are so many things that can happen that will impede a smooth journey...all you can do is roll with the punches, be calm and you'll come out of it with a smile knowing you at least made it in.

  7. My wife grew up in Beaumont. It is a small town not much of a night life. She said she would never want to live there again. And it isn't 3 hours from houston more like an hour and 45 min. She said they called it Boremont.

  8. she is an idiot...and has a serious mental problem to verbally attack two ladies..i am pissed off

My friend and I separate ways at the Walmart..it's just Robin and I..

Sis, she's one in a million...thankfully. Sometimes you gotta be rude back to someone like that but not start a confrontation...just laugh and shake your head. I'm certain that if there were more people around, they would have put her in her place.

one in a million??? we're talking about wal-mart...they breed those kinda people there

  9. hello guys

i just want to ask who has some information ... or what are the some questions when taking exam for driver license!!! please shared who had some question!!! thank you ....

    really appreciated each help

    jarl

The exam is all about the traffic rules, signs and safety driving. You can downlaod a driver's handbook on you state's DMV site or you can pick up one on your local DMV office. Take time to study the handbook before taking the exam.

I went to my local dmv and they only had the handbook in spanish so yeah, DL online.

  10. SECURITY WARNING

This document contains several inbuilt security features, some of which are listed below. Please refer to the reverse for a dull description of the security featres. The pink "Eagle" image on the left and right are printed in a heat sensitive ink and will disappear if moderate heat or friction is applied. The border around this Security Warning is printed in MICROTYPE which reads NSW POLICE CRIMINAL RECORDS SECTION when viewed under magnification. The document background has a pattern of fine wavy lines and a gradual colour change from blue to pink to blue."

On the back it does indeed go into more detail, apparently there are seven eagle images printed in invisible fluorescent ink which glow under ultra violet light.... It goes on and on... it's the most well fraud protected document I've ever had, maybe even more so than money? Anyway, thats my certificate that I got in the mail and took with me to my K-1 interview.

I don't know about being more protected than money, it's not so hard to find heat sensitive ink and ultraviolet stuff is everwhere. It's much harder to find polymer to print on and actually be able to print on it. I'm not sure if you ever studied oz money closely but it is immensely rich in detail all over. And new money also has funky textures on it too which make it cool and like, such as.

this is my police cert, it's pretty basic, just has a watermark and signature... they also handwrote my details in, which was very kind..could also be a security feature?

  11. G day everyone, firstly Chasers are bloody funny, I saw photo of one of them today at APEC with the bin laden beard LOL! But there is a serious side to my message. I am having my medical done on Monday in Melbourne through doctor Okraglik. Has anybody else had their medical done through him? How was it and how long did it take for the results to be returned? Thanks for the Land Downunder forum. Take care everybody.

do you have an interview in sydney? unless you have an interview like the next day you will be fine. Providing you're a healthy chap and have had all your vaccinations (read the medical thoroughly to see what's required for your age group) it takes about as long as it is to get your blood test results back. The actual appt is maybe like 30mins long...it's basically a general physical, nothing special and nothing to get to worried over.

ps, I went thru poppenbeek but I don't see a radical difference between the two as far as receiving results. You can have it mailed via registered post, or pick it up a few days later, unless he sends it to sydney direct.
