  1. Good luck to:

Neen_in_Ottawa (Norine & Erik), I will be watching for your email!!....

kevin & Lee (Leeanne & Kevin) and VnS (Serge & Vanessa)...!!

are any of you planing to meet up with each other? most importantly are you going to go dressed up for Halloween?!...LOL

Best of luck to all of you, and safe travels!!

    Thanks Kimmbo!

Just for all - - - as I told kimmbo, my inerterview was NOT 5 minutes. Actually, people kinda looked at me oddly when I walked out of the interview room so quickly. A piece of cake.

I don't think that any of the 3 couples here met up, however I think I know who kevin and lee and serge and vanessa were. I think that we were all the first three in line.

I had my 15 year old son with me ... Kevin and Lee - Were you having the computer problems? Serge and vanessa - were you the cute lil couple wgo each had leather jackets on?

For everyone about to go to MtL - good luck ... you'll be fine. Driving in Montreal is way more stress than then interview ;-)

Canada post says that our item is out for delivery TODAY! YAHOOO

  2. Hello,

I am starting to get bogged down with copy after copy of every document I am bringing to the interview.

Can someone please remind me if I am required to photocopy every page of my passport for the K1-Visa interview?

    Thanks!

I had my interview yesterday. She asked me if I had made copies of our passports, I said "No, didn't that I had to ... " she said "ok, no problem"

  4. Tomorrow is my bday... (an NOA2 would make a great present!)...

I have so many friends with June birthdays, just wondering if anyone else in here has a June bday...

    :goofy:

Happy birthday .... Let's hope you get some good news this week!

  5. I think ...........if it were me ........I would put my new address on anything filled out

We were in the market.......Rideau Center.......Westin etc the day the Sens won their conference............how FUN!!! It was awesome to see everyone so happy.... people hugging strangers......everyone was family that day. Dont get me wrong the Sens are certainly not my team but it was really neat to see them make it :) and I am cheering for them in the finals.

I get goosebumpy during every pre-game singing of Oh Canada , the way the entire crowd sings.....very cool Canada VERY cool!!!!

    Hmmmm .... I'm torn!

Sens really need to win tomorrow ... or OH OH ....

  6. I'm mailing back packet 3 tomorrow to Montreal My question is this ...

I'm moving in 3 weeks. The address that I put on the DS-156s ... will this be the address that Montreal mails my Visa to OR ... when I supply the CPC mailer the day of my interview can I give an address to where I want the Visa mailed to?

Bad wording I know ... GO SENS GO!

  7. :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying:

GODD*MNIT, THIS ISN'T F*CKING RIGHT. I finally log back in here to look around, and I find out that because of the new fee increase, it will now cost me $1,010 to get him his green card instead of the $505 it was going to cost (adjustment of status plus EAD, he wasn't going to file for AP). I have NO idea how I am going to be able to afford this. HE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE HERE BY NOW. Long before now!!! With his "waiting list date" being March 2nd, there's no way he'll make it here by the end of July.

This isn't f*cking right AT ALL.

I'll reply to posts on here once I'm sober. I'm drunk as all hell right now. What a fine time for me to find out about this.

You've definitely had some bad luck, feel so bad for you ... :-(

  8. My husband is going down memory lane with this thread... he wants to know if anyone remembers:

    Peter Puck

Commander Tom and Promo the Robot (he said these shows came in from Buffalo, but he loved them)

LMAO ... Peter Puck and Howie Meeker ... I think Coaches Corner must have replaced them .. darn!

  9. I'm about ready to snap!

I am the CDN, husband is the USC. We were married 6 years ago in the USA. We lived in Canada then ... but he has since accepted a position in Texas and has moved there (March 2007).

My son and I have filed I-130s and an I-129F. I would prefer to go the K3 route.

Vice Consul at the US Embassy in Ottawa (Canada) did some research on my case because my I-130 was approved but not my son's.

Vermont wants my son's long form birth certificate, they said they sent an RFE on May 15th, but we haven't received it. I can't call the 1-800 for Vermont in Canada.

Question - We are going to Texas in July to visit my husband. Is there anything I can do as far as adjusting status in the USA, because we were married in the USA instead of waiting ... and waiting ... and waiting ... for a K3?

Probably a silly question ... but I'm becoming VERY impatient with the process.

  11. I have a bit of a dilemma regarding an approval for my I-130 petition.

My I-130 petition was approved on May 15th. Problem – My son’s has not been approved yet (He’s 15 years old). I would prefer to go down the K3 path, as he would be included on my K3.

I don’t have any issues with continuing on with the IR1/CR1, however, until my son’s petition has been approved … an approval for just myself may as well be no approval at all. Here’s hoping the K3 will get approved soon. In the meantime, does anybody have any suggestions?

I know this has nothing to do with what u are questioning, but Are You originally from Canada ?

    yes

  13. Hi Neen,

I actually just went through this. I only received my SSN a month ago - my 3 years worth of tax returns are now in the mail to the IRS - I filed 2006, 2005 and 2004 (although I noted the USCIS does only require 1 year - I decided to file 3 anyway).

There is a lot of info on the IRS site, I called them just to confirm and ended up speaking with an agent for 74 minutes - 5 minutes of this was actually useful information - but he was just being thorough I guess.

I filed a 1040 an F2555EZ and a F8891 (the 8891 is only necessary if he has an RRSP).

Anyway, it is pretty straight forward, assuming his income is lower than $82,400 U.S. for 2006 (as an example as 2005 and 2004 have their own limits).

Other than that the only thing to note is that all amounts must be in U.S. dollars and they give a link on their website to the federal reserve averages for each year. The agent also told me to call them in about 6 weeks to ask for a transcript, he said it is faster if I call to request one, rather than using the online form.

Send me a message if I can be of any help.

You're the best ... all of you have been great! Thanks soooooo much for the help!
