  1. Just finished the Medical Examination of Aliens Seeking Adjustment of Status (I-693 and A-1 Appendix A SUPPLEMENTAL FORM TO I-693). The medical was done in San Antonio, TX at the Clinica Medica Internacional. They clinic was "Very professional" and made the process painless. I had called several of the facilities to find out the price and what was involved. One chain gave me what I considered a very outrageous price and told me it takes several days. My advice - call around and check the price and how timely they are before you commit yourself. Take the time to call and ask questions. BTW - The clinic is just around the corner from the San Antonio District Office, 8940 Fourwinds Drive, San Antonio, TX 78239.

  2. Thanks for the advise everyone. I'm not sure what I'll do at the moment. He says he isn't going to talk to that girl anymore and half of me wants to trust him but the other half of me can't. I had trust issues before this and it doesn't really help matters. I can't help but feel like I'm being used for a greencard but there's something inside me that wants to believe that he really loves me and means it when he says he's sorry :(

  3. My wife passed her interview in September 2007 and now wants to bring her 18 year old daughter to the US. I have read most of the material which says that her daughter has 1 year to come to the US from the date my wife’s Visa was issued. Her daughter’s name was on all the paperwork with the status that she would travel later (follow-to-join) at a later time.

Q1. How do I initiate the action to bring her daughter to the US?

    a. I-824 form along with $340 filing fee?

From the State Department website I read that (http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/types/types_2994.html) “A separate petition is not required if the children accompany or follow the alien fiancé(e) within one year from the date of issuance of the K-1 visa”.

    b. Write the consular section at the consulate where the Visa was issued (Guangzhou) and ??????

How do I initiate the action?

    TIA

I had done 1 - e-mail to the NVC which gave me the NVC case number and 4 phone calls. On 2 of the calls I talked to the attendant on duty. On the first they said my case was being worked and on the second they said it had been approved.

  6. I received my NOA2 on April 5, 2007 and have been waiting for my NVC approval. I called them and after about 4 attempts I finally got through. They said I was in the system. They were administratively processing my file.

I wrote them at the e-mail address and got basically the same response, but I also got my NVC number. The party line at the bottom of the e-mail goes like this.

"As part of the aftermath of the events of September 11, 2001, there areadditional security check requirements for visa applicants. While it isnot possible to predict when the clearances for this case will befinished by all involved Washington agencies, please be assured that assoon as the results are received, the case file will be forwarded to the appropriate US Embassy or Consulate General."

    Patience is a virtue!

  7. I didnt receive any touches; Good luck everyone!

So when you checked your status online there was no change in the date or do you mean the date changed to reflect your NOA2? You received an email right?

    No touches, just the approval.

I followed the 129F packet word for word and provided everything suggest off VJ website to be sure.

I waited and waited and waited. Then finally, APPROVAL.

I used the timeline and input my own dates so I would know when to look for any approval.

Keep the faith! We all are on similar paths! I just takes time to get there.

  9. Download a program like FrontLook Screen capture which gives you a 30 day trial version. FrontLook Screen Capture (FLSC) is a simple, easy to use utility to capture images of all, or a portion of, the Windows screen. Once captured, the image may be optionally printed and/or saved.

Create the barcode as you have done before.

Start FrontLook and use capture area to select the barcode. Yes, you can easily select the barcode without the text. Save as *.bmp or *.jpg.

Now you can paste the graphic where you want it.

    Enjoy!

  10. Get Norton Antivirus and firewall immediately. You can go and scan you system on the symantec website for free. Clean out all viruses and trojans that Symantec finds.

http://www.kaspersky.com/ is good. Norton provides updates and patches quickly and usually leads the market.

You should not run 2 antivirus programs on any computer because they will cancel each other out and eat up too much processor time.

Update your operating system with all hot fixes from Microsoft.

You probably need to look into Webroot Spysweeper to get rid of other internet monitoring cookies.

The firewall from Symantec will see if anyone is accessing you computer or if program is trying to communicate out. It will block the bad stuff.

    Do this immediately.

There is a program called Ccleaner you can download for free. It will delete most cookies, history files, etc.... and eliminate some pain. I run it at least once per week to clean my deleted items folder and internet cookies.

    Hope this helps.
