It is great to see some movement I am no longer the only one. I really believe this is the beginning of the USCIS getting rid of this black mark against them. I got my card today, this has to be the fastest process at that black hole organization.

I'm wondering if gatorlink's last name begins with an "A" . . . maybe they're doing it in alphabetical order (hence all the touching and sorting they did after the cases were received at VSC).
My last name does start with "An" I really doubt that they sorted them alphabetically though. Just doesnt seem logical.....but we are talking about the USCIS.

I am definitely NOT applying for citizenship - I refuse to feed this inefficiency with even a cent ... I just hope I get this over with soon so I can at least have a 10 year break from this #######!
I want to apply for citizenship b4 they hike the cost anymore. If we use history as a guide the fees will keep going up. So I'll pay the $675 and wait hopefully it wont be a very long wait.
I really hope that my approval is the first of many in the next few days for the TSC to VSC crew.

I'm approved finally got the email today (copied it below). I was transferred to VSC and like a lot of you guys I thought this process would never end.
Now I have to fork over $675 to start the citizenship wait.

TSC received my application on 4/26/07. I just hope there's some method to this madness

I filed my I-751 in April 2007. Today when I checked my case status online it showed my I-130 which was approved in 2005 as being touched on 11/17/07, is this normal when waiting for the I-751?

I recently flew to mexico after I received my 1 year extension letter. Before flying I made an infopass appt and got my passport stamped to verify that my green card had been extended. I thought this stamp could be used instead of the letter, I was wrong. On my return flight my wife (US citizen) and I were "detained" by immigration for about an hour until my 1 year extension could be verified. To make a long story short the immigration officer told me that the letter is what I should use when travelling overseas

I hope someone here can help me with this issue?
My mother in law recently received her citizenship, she wants to upgrade her I-130 application for her adult daughter. The I-130 was originally filed when she was a PR and has been approved and sent off to the national visa center. The issue I'm having is my mother in law's daughter is currently on a work visa aand is living in the US, can she simply file an I-485 when the priority date for US citizen filing for adult daughter comes up? I called the USCIS help line and I was advised to have my mother in law make an info pass appointment, is this necessary to upgrade the I-130?
Any help will be greatly appreciated

Lease of joint tenancy
Joint mortgage or joint title deed (I'm the only one on this since i purchased our home before my hubby entered US, so I didnt include this)
Tax returns (I sent jointly filed taxes for tax yrs 2005 and 2006 in petition---we didnt marry til 05, why list them on NOA1)
joint bank accounts (I included these in our petition as well)
Medical (I included letter from my health insurance showing my husband added as a dependent as well as copy of health insurance card)
Insurance policy (I believe this on on the NOA1 as well, but I did included it as well showing hubby as beneficiary)
This is all I can remember off hand since I dont have the NOA1 in front of me. Please check your NOA1 to see if this is on there. By the way now that I think of it, it does say "If you havent sent these documents with your petition"
I think you can ignore this, I just received my NOA and they asked for the same documents. The important line and you paraphrased it above is
" If you have not already done so, provide supporting documents...."

Another benefit to being a citizen is social security, however flawed the system may be. Even though LPR's contribute at the same rate they do not get the same payout

I had my interview today in Tampa and it went well.
Appointment was for 9:50 got their about 9:20.
Went to front door where they took my appt letter and sent me to a trailer to wait for my name to be called
At 9:40 name was called and went inside the building where i again waited for my name to be called
At about 10:10 I began the interview asked the basic info on the form
I was also asked where my wife was and if he could contact her I said yes if necessary
Informed him of my new job and the trip I took since submitting the form
I then answered the questions
1) when president inaugerated
2) name the 2 senators from florida
3) where is white house located
4) asked about the declaration of independence
I was then asked to write 'Iwant to become a united states citizen' before signing the forms and two passport photos
He said congrats and since it wasnt 10:30 I just made it for the swearing in ceremony this friday.
I was then told to wait outside and someone would give me my letter for attending the swearing in ceremony on 9/26
When I finally got the letter in my hand it was 10:50. It therefore took me all of an hour and a half took get finished.
