Hello all! I finally got my official interview notice in a mail. Exactly 2 weeks before the interview, I actually started worrying why I wasn’t receiving it. It looks really weird. Feels like they used somebody else’s letter and just entered my name in it.  The petition number is wrong, the c/o name is wrong. It’s a mess. At least date and time match.

    Good luck. You've got this

Sorry for not responding earlier. I didn't get a notification.

The explanation I received from my lawyers was that the previously scheduled interview was cancelled because the local field office intended to consolidate the I-751 and the N-400 interviews but had not yet received the I-751 file and mistakenly scheduled the appointment before the file was consolidated. Then I moved away from CA, which I already had planned months before the interview was scheduled, and the same week my new interview was due in 2 weeks. Since I had to inform them of my change of address, the interview was cancelled a second time. Then my lawyer intervened and filed a request to expedite the adjudication of my naturalization/removal of conditions application, due to government error.

Last week, I had my interviews in CA, my I-751 was approved, and my N-400 was recommended for approval in my new jurisdiction. Yesterday, I checked my status and it said that they've mailed my new card.

I still don't know if or when my N-400 will be approved, but the officer who interviewed assured me that I would receive a notification about it soon. Fortunately, I could afford a lawyer to help me with my case. Otherwise, I would still be waiting.

    Congratulations!

he just recently closed it, actually he just removed his name and opened his own account. I found out after i sent the statements for RFE, he got really mad i requested statements for two years and the account went negative. our joint interview is first week of august, but he refused to go specially he has DUI classes he has to attend and wont do anything for me, or even re-schedule.

Like other folx who commented above, it would be best to talk to an attorney. With bank statements, hopefully you keep copies of everything. Go to the interview prepared and bring all your documents.

    Hello everyone,

I just signed up but I’ve been reading post here. I received RFE too and sent my response April 12 and just today I got a mail for interview. However me and my husband have been fighting a lot lately and we were on and off tryin to fix our marriage. When I told him about the interview he refused and told me he wouldn’t come and we should just file a divorce at this point. It was a joint filing and my interview is on August 9th at CSC. At this point if there’s no possible way of reconciliation anymore should I just file a divorce now and go to my interview alone and convert it to a divorce waiver? Please give me some insights as I don’t really know what to

do at this point. My husband and I fought a lot before bec of his drug abuse and financial matters and right now I don’t think he would still help me specially he even closed our joint bank account recently when we had a big fight about money. I just thought maybe we can still

be fixed. We’ve been married for about 4 years now.

One keep track of everything about the fight and when your husband closed the joint bank account. I'm not sure when the interview is. I'm assuming that it's a month from when you get the letter. You need to talk to an attorney asap and see what they can do. Since I'm not an attorney, the only thing I can tell you is to document everything. Make sure you have all the photos and everything including divorce decree. If you're able to convert it to a divorce waiver, the USCIS is more likely going to schedule an interview.

I filed my I-751 in October 2017 and still waiting. My N-400 was filed in October 2018 and its interview got scheduled for next month. Is it normal for the N-400 to be that fast compared to the I-751? Does anyone have any tips for the interview? Any information about what to expect in the interview would be appreciated.

@phjs It's going to be a joint interview. They will interview you and your spouse for I-751 approval and then you will be scheduled for N-400 right after (same day). They have to approve your I-751 first before your N-400 interview. Make sure you bring your spouse and updated joint documents (ie. tax returns, apt lease, etc) with you to the interview

    Hi guys,

last week I had my ROC interview, I didn’t apply for I-400 because in the middle of my process I got divorce. Anyway, in the interview, at the end, they told me they’ll let me know in the next few weeks. On Friday I received a notification from the case tracker saying “new card is being produced,” however, online my status is the same, nothing hasn’t changed yet in there. Well, now I’m confused. Have I gotten approved or not?2A3EB50E-7AD4-40E3-B12D-3CD014AF4982.thumb.jpeg.3b674943c4b0c6756cf1999d51aa91b8.jpeg

@Ali7 That means, it's approved! Congratulations.

  7. Just an update on my case. I went for my info pass appointment on Monday. I didn't get the one year I-551 stamp. They only gave me a six-month extension instead. It such a hassle because if they don't hear anything from them by October. I'd have to request another infopass appointment. I checked with the agent and according to her, my case is still sitting in Nebraska, right now they're processing May 2017.  I'm just feeling a little bit down because all the cases that transferred to Nebraska on November 21, 2017 have either been adjudicated or ref.

Did you apply for N-400? If so, chances are you won't get approved nor get an RFE! My I-751 was transfered to NSC as well, however, I also applied for N-400. They will be processed together at the same time. So I won't get approved before my N-400 interview. I made an inquiry about a missing letter, and though I didn' ask they told me that they will be processed together.

@Butterfly83 I didn't apply for N-400. I'm trying to save money towards it. Right now, my financial situation isn't so great.

I called USCIS on there 800 number to schedule info pass appointment . Somebody called me within 72 hrs from NY. But she didn't schedule my infopass appointment because she said to read me the date on 18 months extension letter and exact wording in letter but i was at work so I said I dont have a letter right now . She said I need to call back and have letter handy . Then she will able to schedule an appointment.  Anybody experienced this?

I'm sorry that you experienced that. It doesn't make any sense.

  10. I feel like the majority of I-751 cases that transferred to NSC on November 20, 2018, have been processed in some way shape or form (RFE or approval) except for a few cases including mine. It's so annoying.  My case is WAC1801700xxx.  Mentally, I don't know how much I can wait longer. My friend who is a November 2017 filer got her case transferred to TX in Jan 2019 and she just got her I-751 approval last Friday.

And scheduling Infopass appointment for i-551 stamp is crazy and stupid. My 18-month extension expires in May. They didn't let me schedule for an appointment today. They wanted me to call them back again in April. According to them, for the stamp, I have to be within 30 days of the expiration of my extension like what happened if my field office is backlog with appointments. I just don't know how to navigate this uncertainty. Like is it necessary to get my passport stamped?

I just wish I got everything approved before April so I don't have to go and get the I-551 stamp.

Thank you so much for reading y'all.

Omg, my case is the same as yours! I even have the same first few wac numbers, 18017xxx. You must be either a few cases above or down below my case. Regarding my case, I have the same updates and even the same transfer dates. I had the same situation with my biometrics as well. Thank you so much for writing, you give me some hope! I hope I hear something soon as well. CONGRATULATIONS!!! I’m extremely happy for you!

I'm on the same boat as you too, @Ali7 let's hope we get to hear some good news soon.

Hello, late jan/early feb 2018 filer here. My case got transferred to Nebraska 2 weeks ago. Seeing that some of you are in the same boat and haven’t heard anything back yet is very frustrating.

You should ask for an update on your case because it's past the processing time. If you look on the USCIS processing page for I-751, Nebraska is currently processing March 31, 2017 (it's not that accurate, I know). Given the fact that you're a January filer, you should be able to request an update as to why it's taken so long.

Hi everyone, I am a long time lurker here and I am sharing my update hoping it will give those who have been transferred to Nebraska some hope. I'm WAC18025. We originally filed at CSC, and my case was transferred to Nebraska on Nov 20. It just got approved. No interview, no RFE. Prior to my case being approved, I was seeing approvals at WAC18025 daily. It's only a few each day, but things are moving! For those still waiting, I hope this message brings you hope and that you get approved very soon. Thank you all so much for supporting me during this time. Seeing everyone's updates was very helpful.

@noemi83 Congratulations! I am excited to hear that your case has been approved. It gives me some hope since mine case is similar to yours - originally filed at CSC and got transferred to Nebraska on the same day as yours.

    Thank you for sharing this
