Has anyone in Honduras who is waiting for an immigrant visa got their appointment rescheduled yet?
The last message I got was:
Dear Sir/Madam,Due to the enactment of a red alert by the President of Honduras prohibiting public and private events, the Immigrant Visa Unit at the U.S. Embassy in Tegucigalpa has canceled appointments for the month of March 2020. The Immigrant Visa Unit will reach out to you by email when we have rescheduled your appointment.
We sincerely appreciate your understanding.

But it is already September and still no updates yet. I checked the website and still see this - https://hn.usembassy.gov/visas/
I had another family friend whose visa info just got sent by NVC to Honduras consulate and they already got their interview scheduled. It seems that the newer visa applicants are getting it schedule faster than the ones that got cancelled due to Covid. is this common? is it because the other visa were under a different governmental policy
-
Had an interview schedule for last year in April 2020, but it got rescheduled due to Covid. Said they will email us back once it opens. The consulate is already opened and my other friend who is also IR5 just had their interview. The NVC just mailed their packet to Honduras consulate in June and their interview was early this month. But my in-laws were last year. Should I email the consulate and inquiry or continue waiting? Any tips on what I should do. Thanks

Do most people hire attorneys to fill out the form or do the forms yourself?

Was this an interpreter you arranged to have there? I was under the impression that at most consulates, candidates for immigrant visas are allowed to request to have the interview conducted in the language they are most comfortable speaking.
oh i just brought the interpreter in. They didn't mention they can get me an interpreter they just allow the mother to bring a friend in

Who has the passport at present? The embassy or your mother?
The mother has passport the consular officier gave it back to her and said no needed

meaning the consular officer couldn't communicate with the interpreter or the mother, he claims he doesn't understand either of them well.

Mother went to IR5 interview but then consular said she fail the physical exam meaning the translater was not helpful and he couldn' t understand her. He gave her a 221g notice and said no additional documents were required. She also told me she accidently answered some questions wrong like when they ask what she is doing she said she is taking care of her son's kids when in reality she is helping him in business which was what I wrote in the form when applying for her.

I think you should update to be safe.

We had a expidiated k1 visa interview on the 17th. I was not allowed to join so I went back with his sister. 2 hours later they called for me to come for the interview. it was nerve wrecking. They wanted to know if I spoke spanish so she wanted to have the interview in Spanish. till I confused her and she said it can be done in english. I was asked the same questions he was asked. But we were finally approved. Took about 4 hours.
What did they ask and why did it take 2 hours or 4 hours?

Sometimes they don't ask for new i864 but it's good to be prepared for sure. If you parents are bringing updated i864 and supporting docs to the interview, you can upload it on ceac so the CO will have access to it.
so even if it says accepted for the previous docs above we upload it to
Additional AOS Supporting Documentation below there right. and we just need to upload it prior to interview?

just got email today.
Dear Beneficiary,
This e-mail is to inform you that the I-130 Petition has been received.
Before your appointment at the American Embassy in Tegucigalpa, Honduras you must carefully read the following information:
Your case is electronic. For electronic cases, all applicants are required to scan and upload all documents through the Consular Electronic Application Center or CEAC and bring the original documents on the day of the interview. All documents should be uploaded as PDF format
. Please go to the following link Consular Electronic Application for information on how to upload documents into CEAC.
9. Petitioner’s form I-864 Affidavit of Support with a copy of the most recent IRS transcript:
- If the Petitioner has not filed taxes, he/she must provide an explanation letter.
- If the Petitioner does not meet the minimum income required, a joint sponsor must also submit the Form I-864 with a copy of his/her most recent IRS transcripts along with a copy of proof of U.S. Citizenship or Legal Permanent Residence status.
- I-864W If the beneficiary is under 18 years old and a biological son or daughter of a United States citizen.
- I-864A If petitioner or sponsor’s income is insufficient, any household member can submit Form I-864A: Contract between Sponsor and Household Member, plus a copy of their i.d./their proof of status.
However, I was already documentarily qualified when I uploaded all the documents in 2019. Do I need to upload the new 2020 I-864 along with 2020 tax transcript too? I was just planning to have parents bring it to the interview but not sure if we need to upload it to ceac since it was already all qualified. Do consular officiers have access to ceac once we immediately upload the new 2020 tax transcript?
-
the embassy in honduras emailed my parents telling them that whatever documents they bring they must upload to ceac.i already upload everything. but due to covid the affadavit of support is old. Would I need to upload the newest one to ceac and is it still possible? or should I bring it to the interview

Doesn't matter what your last years income was. What is your income today?
it is $3k per month currently in 2021. However if I do fill out an updated i-864 form it asks for income in 2020 and I am not sure if I should include the total income with unemployment minus $10,200 (as shown on transcript under total income) or total income with unemployment (as shown on transcript under total positive income per computer).
The actuality is that I did receive all the unemployment and and w2 in 2020 but congress pass a law in 2021 making the first $10,200 of unemployment income not taxable so the tax transcript took this into consideration under the total income line but the total positive income per computer line is more accurate.
All I can do is attach a 1099 and the w2 which will verify the income amount, but not sure how smart the consular officer is and don't want to be accused of lying if I fill out this incorrectly for the IR5 interview

You should start with the latest tax year. If you just put 2019 as your current income, it will raise questions as current income is important.
Good Luck!
I was wondering I had a I-864ez that was approved in late 2018 by NVC but my father has a IR5 interview next week. Do I bring my old I-864ez form that I uploaded or would I make a new one? Some people say just bring new tax transcript for 2019 and 2020. And if I need to bring a new one would it be ok if I use the I-864 form instead of the EZ so I can also include my assets?
Also, I got $22k in unemployment income last year and $8k in w2, but on tax transcript the total income line shows the amount reduced by $10,200. Should I also attach my w2 and 1099 from unemployment to tax transcript for 2020 when bringing to interview?I do have the latest paystubs for the past 6 months that I can bring which is normal income of $3000 per month

No -- the 2020 tax return or transcript is required. The 2019 and 2018 tax paperwork may also be submitted in addition to those for 2020, but they cannot be used in lieu of the tax filing for 2020.
Again, if you are employed by a company, neither your 2020 nor 2019 returns reflect your CURRENT income. Like I said above, that's your PAST income. Here's what the I-864 instructions actually say about supporting evidence for current income -- https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/document/forms/i-864instr.pdf
"[...] you may include a recent letter from your employer, showing your employer’s address and telephone number, and indicating your annual salary. You may also provide pay stubs showing your income for the previous six months. If your claimed income includes alimony, child support, dividend or interest income, or income from any other source, you may also include evidence of that income."

Submitted i-864 ez in 2019 and was approved in 2019 by NVC but now it is 2021 do i need to bring new i-864 form? Or would I just bring updated tax transcript for tax year 2019 and 2020? and new paystubs for this year for IR5 interview
-
The tax transcript for 2020 tax year has the total income field lowered by $10,200 because I received unemployment last year. So my total income is $20k with w2 and unemployment but my actual income is $30,200. Since the IR5 interview is next week, besides printing the 2020 tax transcript for the petitioner, do you think it is necessary to also attach the 1099 for the unemployment income and w2 for that year too or tax transcript enough?
-
yes it did but I notice when i scan it and print out out again it is nearly identical to the original there isn't much difference
-
I was wondering during your interview did they ever ask for the original copy of the petitioner's marriage certificate?
-
For IR5 interview original documents are required does that include original pertitioner's marriage certificate? I uploaded all the documents to the NVC website and all got approved. For the tax documents I can email that to my parents and they can print it out. They have all the other documents as original. Is it also necessary to mail a copy of my original marriage certificate?I never uploaded my citizenship or other documents I remember but I remember I did upload my marriage certificate

Thanks for response. IF the consular officer feels the original sponsor does not make enough income or insufficient would we be given an opportunity to add an additional sponsor? Also, would a denial cause current tourist visa to be cancelled?
-
so just updating tax documents and updated police reports. are there anything else you think i need? If they do put it in AP and I get denied will I be given any opportunity for another interview or RFE?
-
Parents plan on IR5 interview soon in Honduras. However, documents are out of date since the interview got cancelled in early 2020. So do we bring updated documents to the interview? Is it just the updated affidavit of support and updated police report? And what happens if we don't pass the interview, would the officer give you another opportunity to upload the proper documents like finding additional sponsor
-
Do we need to upload the 2020 tax return or updated financial documents for affidavit of support? It got approved but with 2019 tax return and now we are in 2020. And my parents just got IR5 interview next month or do we just bring it to interview

My mom immigrant visa got approved, 6 basic questions, no documents required, I brought all the original that were scanned to CEAC but the officer didn't ask for anything except for her birth certificate which he returned and police certificate which he kept.
She is coming to the US next month🎉
Good luck everyone
did you have to submit newer tax return documents or the affadvit of support for the interview? since there was a delay in IR5 interview some of the documents are now old
IR5 Visa Still Administrative processing after 60 days
in Bringing Family Members of US Citizens to America

We had interview end of December. It passed and interview person said they need medical exam, But the doctor was so busy so medical exam was done Jan 12. Today it is over 60 days and it is still administrative processing. Should we contact consulate? I see the Immigrant visa website says last updated 1/16/2022 which is the date they receive the medical exam, but that was the final statement. Any tips? This is in Honduras
