Well, add our names to the approved "pending routine checks" status. What is particularily disturbing is that they let my girl leave her interview on Dec. 5 with all indications that the visa is approved. She even saw the green sticker on the folder that read "k1 visa approved." But then I call the embassy a week later, and the visa has NOT been released by the embassy because they are awaiting some sort of "checks." Called the Dept. of State number and all I got out of them is that the status on her visa is "pending." You gotta love pending, pending what? Pending the volcano blows? Pending the pope visits the Phil? The state department lady reassures me that there is nothing "wrong" with our application, that its just going through "routine procedures." But I find that answer BS because "routine" is approval the same day as interview. They approve hundreds of 60 year-old grandfathers petitioning their 18 year-old fiancees who have only visited their children (oops I mean fiancees) once, but they hold up our application. It is very frustrating indeed.

Hi BJZags. Well I think we have the same situation. I left the embassy so excited expecting that i will be leaving for US soon to be with my fiance but unfortunately after 3 weeks i havent received my visa. I have no idea that something is wrong when i left the embassy until i called them after a week and told that my case is under review. I think it will be easier to accept that something is wrong if they ask me for additional docs or what or if they ask anything from the interview which is not really basic. Imagine the consul just ask me my name, my petitioner's name, where did we met and what's his work. That's all written in the forms!!! The consul also instructed me to fill-up a form as soon as i arrived in US airport for our daughter's citizenship which consul commented that our daughter will be automaticcally be US citizen as soon as she arrives in US. And then what!!! Hold our visa for some unexplainable review!! I just hope we receive our visa soon.

Is lorainne answering the ext 5184 from us embassy tel # 5286300? Coz i tried calling it but was advised to contact the call center next time but she gave me the status of my visa without much details tough. Does they tell you you're in AR? Bec. im done with my interview last feb 15 and the lady from the last counter only told me to pay delbros but until now i havent received my visa. And I saw the approved green card attached to my files by the consul. When i tried to call the embassy they always tell the same thing that theyre still reviewing it and just wait. Dont they know that its torturing us especially when you dont know what seems to be the problem!!! I hate this i should be with my love by now. I got excited after i left the embassy only to know that i will still wait not knowing when it will come...atleast even an estimate time for how much long will i wait.

Its my 3rd week since my interview and im still waiting for the release of my visa. I dont know what's happening but i tried calling the embassy and they are still reviewing it and they didnt give much details about it. What's taking them so long. I thought i was approved coz i saw the green card with approved sign attached to my files.I wish that they would just ask me what they need so i'll not be at a lost here. Does the manila embassy really take this long to process visa? Does anybody have an idea what's happening? My fiance's worried that maybe his bad credit image is the problem coz he still owes the hospital when he was confined some 3 months ago im not sure if the embassy knows about this unless they did some investigation. But in his affidavit of support his income is above the poverty guideline and we have a cosponsor too. Do you think this is the problem? Pls help me coz i really want to be with my fiance asap.

I'm only from quezon city. I texted delbros and they said that my visa is still in process at the embassy. I guess i just need to be more patient. Anyway, thank you guys for replying.

I think it all depends upon where the Visa will be delivered... The farther the location, the longer to wait for it. Where are you from anyway? If you're from a far away province, you should have stayed in a hotel close to USE and had your visa delivered there. I think others did that and it worked... Anyway, if they say you wait, do so. You'll get your visa! And congrats for the successful interview!
