N-400 received today!!

Mailed our packet on 05-25-11. Vermont received it on 05-26-11. We filed a little late. Money was tight. I hope we will be ok.

Well, I guess its time to start getting busy. Im gonna have to read up on this stuff since i have out of the loop for the last two years enjoying LIFE!!!

We just got internet service again since we moved. Green Card in Hand !!!!! No interview.

My husband had his biometrics appt on June 2 and still no EAD card . Also, we recieved a letter our case was transferred to CSC, but nothing on EAD, If they transfer your case to CSC does this mean no interview? I see others who filed after us and already have their EAD card. Should we be concerned about no news on the EAD?

Are there any may EAD filers out there who have not gotten their EAD card yet?

Thank you Everyone for all your well wishes. Waheed has booked his flight and he will be coming home on June 3rd. In 11 days I get to see my wonderful hubby again. I can't even believe it. His POE will be in Chicago.

I want to thank everyone here on VJ for your complete support through all of this. You all are great.

When Waheed got his visa we just sat there looking at each other like... a deer in headlights. It is kind of a strange feeling. We spent so many months not allowing ourselves to get to happy about anything and suddenly ... we can be happy. I think we were both just stunned. We knew the visa was coming but once it is actually in your hand.. it is kind of freaky. But now we are Super Happy. Some people have asked me how it feels to finally have our visa after this long wait. Well, it feels like a giant weight is taken off my shoulder and I can allow myself to be happy again. After Waheed and I were married and I left him in Pakistan, it was like someone pushed the PAUSE button on my life. Now, we can push the START button and get on with our life together.

Thanks again for all your support and I hope you all get to experience getting your visa very soon. Inshallah.

Today i got an field investigation.The investigator was very decent he came to my work place.First met my boss and then colleague.Then he came to my home talked to my brothers and then he asked few questions from me.

He looks very satisfied and he told my brother that Sibtain is gonna get his visa soon.He said the same thing to me when he was ready to leave.

The experience was very pleasent.NO fear No pressure.

Ahhhhhhh.... after a long time atleast got some better relief.

Hopefull for myself and hopefull for everyone.

UPDATE

Called DOS today and the visa specialist told me that Waheed's visa has been printed and that we must wait for the Islamabad Embassy to call Waheed. Then she said "Congratulations"

Why is Islamabad sooooo slow? We have been waiting forever for them to call and this is completely making us crazy OK... maybe not forever but it sure feels like forever.

Her finance got his social security card now but unless he got a temp work authorization from his POE his ss card is not work authorized. It should have a notation on it stating something like this:

VALID FOR WORK ONLY WITH DHS AUTHORIZATION. NOT VALID FOR EMPLOYMENT ...

Meaning that is only for id purposes until he has AOS and then he would need to go and get this removed from the card. The temporary stamp from JFK is only good for 90 days if he did indeed get one. DHS Authorization is the EAD card which would be part of his AOS now that he married.

Ok im confused now, the people at the SS office said he is authorized to work with this card while we are waiting AOS

Silly billy question: Anyone knows Via what courier in Lahore (name and address if known) to send the package and what address to send it to? Does it go back to Islamabad embassy address? Man, my fiancee is confusing me. lolz.
