So we just went through this. My husband entered the country on Aug 11. We were able to get his health ins before he had his social. They just used 999-99-9999. When his social came in, we provided it. When applying for your social you need your original birth cert, passport, and the proof of entry document.

Yes, at least one day prior. It doesn't take long. You will need your appointment confirmation letter, the DS-160, and passport. They will take your fingerprints and when you have your interview they will have you put your hand in the scanner to verify it is you.

The status on us travel docs has changed. Thanks. There is not a tracking yet but they said call back in the morning.

Yes, you need to bring the unopened packet to your interview. It will not be mailed to the consulate. You have to pick it up.

To be honest, we opted for blue dart delivery, and would like to be able to track it to make sure they find his home. Some of the alleys in kolkata are hard to find. I was expecting it would change from issued to say something about the courier.

My fiance's visa status changed to issued today after his interview on Friday. Is there another status after that? Will we be able to track it on blu dart?

I hear everyone talking about photo albums. Our packet has a small sample of photos from each of my times there. I hear people saying they bring albums, but sometimes they don't fit under the glass. How big should the album be??

Thanks. I thought I read you have an appt for July 26?? I was able to get this appointment at 8:30am Indian time. I checked this am and there was an appt for Aug 9. If you click reschedule, it will not allow you to change unless both appointment types are available. Good luck.

Our Embassy asvised us they open 8 spots per month for K1 interviews. On top of that its the busy season.  The only thing they were able to tell if it’s to check daily because since people cancel and reschedule and then we can take that spot. Near impoasible. 

Wow, 8 spots per month!!! We finally were able to schedule  an interview for Aug 2. Right after, there were no more slots. Such a bad system. Good luck!!!

Same here, waiting for mumbai since last tuesday.

We are struggling to just find a date. We were locked out, now there are never any appts. It shows lots of availability for biometrics but doesn't allow us to make because there are no interview appts.

And tips on how to find an available date?? We have been trying since last week to no avail...consider yourself lucky to have one.

So, we have been able to schedule our interview (k1 in india) for almost a week now.  When we first logged in, before we paid, July 19 had dates...we were locked out fornl 72 hours and now there has been nothing available.

Can anyone offer insight on how to get lucky and log in when dates are avail?? Is there some sort if pattern or is it really just luck.

This is incredibly frustrating.

Yes, we did. They don't reopen until Monday. This booking process is a nightmare.

We were locked out of the travel docs site, and honestly we didn't log in much. We were trying to figure out the payment process. It locked us out wed. We waited the 72 hours and are back in. When we try to schedule the ofc is shows avail appointments but when we pick a day, even though it shows availability, it says there are no ofc appts available 

Also. It seems there are no interview appts available in Mumbai. How often are new ones opened. I don't want to get locked out again.

Mine changed earlier today to in transit. Ours was given a number on April 24.

For the Adjustment of Status , the form is I864 and the minimum is 125%... again dole determination by the interviewing officer 

So, this makes me crazy. Why set guidelines to follow if they are going to allow the co to have sole discretion?? 

Martha, yes, I am worried about that. Right now it says "at nvc". It will change to "ready" at some point before it ships??

We have been issued a case number at the NVC. I was reading a blog that said once you have the case number and invoice number, you can go ahead and pay your fees to get things moving a little faster.

Our case was assigned the case number on April 29. YayYay!!

We are applying for a k1 Visa. Now that we have the case number,  are we able to fill out the DS-160 to get our fee paid and make our interview?? Or do we need to wait for it to send and get our welcome packet?
