  1. We had an issue with one document. Acquired the document and sent with the passport and green paper. Had the Visa 7 days later....

    Good Luck!

Hi guys! Hope everything fine for you and goes well. Actually my friend from VJ ErikaAndHamit helped me out so much. Ty for his/her support. I wanna ask a question if you dont mind to answer.

Yesterday I had my interview at Ankara embassy. And they gave me a green paper which means missing a doc.Consular woman told me that everything is good. But my husband need to summit a bank account which has to have 15k USD on it. (Cuz his income was below for last year) And they made me signed to Ds-230 form and told me that actually they approved my visa but need to send docs first. They gave my passport back. Told me that send your passport with missing doc and green paper. The question is any of you have/had this kind a issue and if any of you got visa after send missed docs? I need your advice.Hope some of you will give me a good news. So I can sleep ..

    Thank you in advance.xoxox

  2. *corrected post* my pc messed this up....

I didn't wait for my fiancé to get Packet 3 in the post; it showed up 1 week before the interview!

(Mailing to Izmir took almost 2 months  )

    Go to http://turkey.usembassy.gov/visa_forms.html

You should find everything you need. I downloaded and filled out all the forms (for Packet 3), signed my copies & UPS'ed it to my fiancé. Then she signed her/added documents as per the instructions. Make sure he has everything the K1/K2 instructions ask for!

I kept calling Ankara (for 10 days) until they got it. I then had my fiancé UPS Packet 3 (you have to send it via UPS). Only after Packet 3 is received, will you get an Interview Date (Ours was about 60 days later, see timeline).

For the Medical, arrange it for 1 - 2 days before the interview, unless he lives in Istanbul/Ankara...

    Good Luck!

    Jon

I have a ways to go, but just wanted to know if packet 3 had to be mailed from USA or can I just download forms and give it to my fiance in May when I go to visit him so he can have it in hand when needed and he can send it.

    Thanks everyone!

  4. My fiance has a puppy in the Philippines. Do you think we can immigrate the puppy here in the USA? How much will that cost? Is it possible?

Price of the pet depends on the airline and the size/weight. You will have to contact the airlines for actual pet fees on the same flight you are on. If the pet is shipped as cargo, then you're looking at least $2000.

Check this link out for vaccination requirements:

    http://www.cdc.gov/Ncidod/dq/faq_animal_importation.htm

  5. Ray,

The airline will need the dimensions of the kennel and the total weight of the pet + kennel. I have a chow. With her LARGE kennel (32" x 23" x 23"), she cost me almost $500 back in January (b/c the kennel took 2 of the 4 positions). One other note; the pet must be able to stand. They also need the ability to turn around (reasonably) uninhibited.

Make sure your pet space is reserved with the airline. Call them (again) the night before travel. LIVE ANIMALS (pets) as cargo is very expensive... at least $2000!

    Good luck,

    Jon

  6. Thank you! Honestly, IDK... but out of sheer morbid curiosity:

    1. Was it my "time"?

    2. Was it the expedite?

Tuesday night I contacted my "Elected Official". Early Wednesday morning a staffer called and said they would look in to it. So...

    3. Was it the Congressional?

...the world may never know!?! :P

The service center was useless as usual. The rep on the 21st told me to resend the fax two more times, waiting three days between faxing. The rep I spoke with on the 25th said wait until Friday before resending.

  7. The visa gives you permission to live in the US. Without permission you are only here as a visitor. A visitor is not allowed to live in the US, so is not allowed to bring their possessions into the US as the intent is that they will be leaving. Once you are allowed to live in the US - have your visa - you will be allowed to bring your possessions into the country. You will need to provide a copy of your approved visa and your own proof of admission on that visa to the US before the border guards will allow your belongings in, regardless of who is transporting them, so you will also have to make another border crossing into the US yourself when the time arrives.

I see you are on a CR-1 - you will have to activate that once it is approved in order to allow your belongings into the country.

B/c we were married in a 3rd country(korea) the army will pay to transport my goods to the US where my husband lives. They have contracts with moving companies in Canada apparently...the only catch is that I have to be there when they pick it up.

I just don't see how it works though if I have to already have a visa activated. Is it possible to say that I am sending my "husbands" goods...IDK.

I am a TRAFFIC MANAGER in the USAF. Before I can reseach it, I will need some basic information from you. I'll send you a PM with my personal email address, for you to reply to.

Basically, yes DoD will move the household goods, but there can be a little more involved.

  8. Happy Monday May Filers! So, I have a question...I called CSC on Friday and got the usual touch later that afternoon. BUT I got another touch today, three days later. Anyone else call on Friday and get a touch today? I don't want to get my hopes up yet again, but it seems weird to get a touch that many days later. Oh please let it be NOA2!!!!

Good luck to everyone this week!

    ~Laurel

Yes, exact same thing for me... gonna wait until tomorrow before calling (that will make it day 118).

    Cheers!

    Jon

  9. I haven't seen my fiance, Alan in 6 months :( The separation is unbearable. I'm at 123 days from NSC now, and a little over 90 days with CSC I think I will need to call CSC to find out where we are using the infamous RFE trick, tomorrow, wish me luck.

    Annette

I know the feeling! Over 7 months since I've seen Sevi, 95+ days since sending the petition to CSC. I even tried the RFE trick about the NOA1 (still haven't received), and still no touches to boot! GRRRR

  10. Don't get me wrong, LEGAL immigration is what makes this the greatest country in the world!

However, the bottom is: They are ILLEGAL; therefore they have no RIGHTS in the US. They broke the law of this sovereign nation. Go back where you came from and get in line like everyone else. I don't care about "breaking up" families... they weren't here legally to start with!

This (now dead) bill is a slap in the face of all VJ Members. We are playing by the rules AND there still is a chance of being told NO.

    Just my 2 cents.

  11. Thanks for all the advice.

Some people here have told me that I will need to have a DoD passport in order to travel with my husband, and have the military pay for my flight there. Is this true? I didnt think I could get a passport as I am not a US citizen. Help!!

You should get an offical passport. Which is the same as a tourist except that DoD paid for it and there is a statement stamped in the back. Contact MPF for the process of getting the passport.

Yes the military will pay for transportation of the spouse and child(ren) to the overseas location.

  12. I am currently U.S. military, although I will be seperating shortly, and I was stationed in Turkey in 06. As my travel was on Uncle Sam's dime I don't have airline ticket stubs or even hotel receipts <--- I lived on base.

But I have my initial orders sending me there and a few more military documents authorizing my travel to several other locations in Turkey. If anyone knows-Can I use these? (of course they're unclassified).

I have multiple pictures of us together, letters and the like. Is this sufficent? am I missing anything? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

P.S. Currently I'm stationed in Italy and plan on filing just prior to my seperation and return to the states in early '08. So if I don't have enough "evidence" as it is, it would be a lot cheaper for me to just hop over to turkey from Italy than from the States. Just wanna get some insight. okay, that's it.

I included my PCS orders to Izmir, NATO travel orders (with all the entry/exit stamps), PCS orders from Izmir and copy of my passport.

For the hop; I don't think you'll gain entry, as you are not authorized access to Incirlik b/c you're not assigned. Check the Foreign Clearance Guide, https://www.fcg.pentagon.mil/ (need a .mil domain to access), and with the AMC Pax Terminal in Aviano.

    Good Luck!

  13. I work for the US Air Force. Whenever I send items requiring Certified Mail, I have to list all the tracking numbers (certified, return receipt) on a "talley sheet". The packages are then signed for by the post office.

IMHO, a similar process is probably used at the service center. A mail clerk would create a "talley sheet" for the office the package is going to. Said office would sign for receipt on the "talley sheet". Then later, the green card (or yellow/orange index card sized paper) is physically signed. That would explain the date discrepancy.

    Just my 2 cents.
