  1. Hi All - I realize this might be the wrong thread but it was so helpful to us when my fiance and I were waiting for our K-1. Well, we got it and she's been here for a month. We're getting married Friday but we are having a larger, more traditional wedding party in August. Several of her friends and her mom plan on coming from Serbia. A friend, with experience, has told me I need to fill out a I-134 for each of them. I filled this out for my fiance but isn't there a better way to help show that your friends and family can support themselves and that they will leave? I hate to pass out 10 forms listing my income and all of my assets. Anyone with advice? Please don't be shy...Thanks.

  3. Hello All -

My fiance is arriving in the US tonight!!!! WooHoo! I'm just trying to get things in order for what comes next and I have several questions for anyone with the time to help:

Do we fill out the I-485? We aren't getting married until June 1 so do we need to wait for the marraige certificate to file for an adjustment?

Am I correct in understanding that she can apply for a SSN number right off the bat with a copy of her I-94?

Does anyone have suggestions on where to find clear and concise instructions for how we need to proceed?

Thanks so much for any help!

Oops - been busy, I need to update our timeline...will do.

  4. Wow, what a weight off the heart at the right time...NOA2 approved via email sent at exactly 5:00 pacific time today ......we needed a boost right about now. Stay confident folks....they will come.

Good luck all..and we'll be here through the rest of the process. This site and the people on it have been a real calming influence on me (D - the USC).

Somebody tell John and Diana....we got our NOA1's on the same day.

    :dance::dance::dance:

  5. Hi All...Wondering if anyone knows if they send e-mails or update status page for RFE's. I am getting quite nervous since we were touched the past two days and no change...with all the approvals going out the past couple of days, it makes me think something is wrong. Am I just going crazy? Or should I just expect an RFE in the mail?

Congrats to all who recieved their NOA2....I hope ours is coming soon.

And sorry, I don't know how to attach our timeline...I went to edit signature and still couldn't figure it out.

  6. Hey all...we were touched yesterday...and again today. I was so excited about the first one I actually started a thread for it. You know, we've been apart for a while so it's been a while since we've been "touched" at all.

Anyway, I am certainly keeping all fingers crossed that 2 touches in 2 days means something good is coming...so far no change in status or email though.

    Good luck to all.

  7. Hello again..........

I'n just thinking aloud here really.................

I'll be visiting my fiance in America at Easter and we'll finalise our K1 petition package at that time and then we'll get it mailed off

On the I-129, Part A, question 12 asks if the alien fiance is currently in the USA and asks for the I-94 number and expiration date.

Is there any problem (potential or otherwise) of us sending off the petition while I am in the USA or should we wait until I am back in England before she sends the package off??

    Just wondering really.

    Thanks

    :D

My fiance was still in the country when we filed and has since returned to Serbia. Our attorney (for whatever he's worth) actually incorporated that info into our letter since it helped to prove the fact that we had in fact seen each other within the past two years. So, as long as you return to your home country within the legal timeframe, I don't think it's a problem. Maybe someone else knows differently though.

** Sorry, we haven't done our timeline here yet - NOA1 December 25th...waiting for #2......soooooon we hope.**
