I only have a scan of my original birth certificate and my original is in India and there is no one in my parents house to look for it before my green card interview. has someone else had the experience of going to a green card interview w/o their original birth certificate to the interview? If so, what was the outcome?
I have secondary evidence of my birth date as i) my India high school leaving certificate as well as ii) parents affidavits as supporting evidence.
I have heard about RFE (request for evidence) to send in my original birth certificate after our interview. if anyone has experience at this can you please let me know how that went.
Does not having the original birth certificate alter the approval chances of our green card application?
Thanks.
