Anyway. Some states base on what i read dont allow changing name via marriage but i dont hear much about it..if your state allow the name change through marriage then you'll be fine.

 

passport name can be changeable  once you have your gc and decide to renew your passport...

 

What i know you can get ssn with your maiden name/ before you get married or 2 weeks before I94 expired but some people are unlucky to get one including myself..

I got my ssn today, applied it on dec 21, well..there was problem in ssn office my first name mixed with my middle name, so the process takes longer, and I need to change my ssn its using my maiden name.

so what happened I requested SSN thru EAD too said that time I didn't have SSN yet, and have issues with my name on ssn (additional information).

I change my last name on the marriage certificate and for aos I filled it with my new last name exactly as written at my marriage certificate and put my maiden name as my other name.

I filled my AOS last week, altogether with the EA and AP, my friend's lawyer said I did something wrong, that I put my marriage name as written in marriage license, she said i need to change my name first, on passport or ssn. I already filled it, nothing I can do about it. I got some information from my fb friends that its gonna be ok, but I want your opinion too. Thanks
