    Good morning guys.

Yesterday I had my interview and got recommended for approval, guess that means i was approved, lol.🤩
    Very easy interview.
It was a woman, i had to wait abt 40 mins past my appointment and the interview took approximately 15-20mins, i was scheduled for 7:40am.

All she asked for was the appointment letter and my greencard, and that's it !! 😳😁🤪🥳
She gave back the greencard so I'm assuming they keep it at tve ceremony.
I had so many documents with me,lol.

    Civics test:
    Q:Who vetoes bills?
    A:The President
Q:Who signs bills to become law?
    A:The President
    Q:What state borders Canada?
    A:Maine
Q:Who is my US representative ?
    A:Maria Elvira Salazar
I don't remember if she asked more honestly.

    Reading and writing test:
Q:What state has the most people?
    A:California has the most people

My online account already updated too😳
Just have to wait for the document to upload . I'm glad it's Monday today ,lol

Btw, she also confirmed part 12 I think it is, all the crime questions etc.
I did get a citation but she said that's a traffic ticket so it's ok.

Say whaaaat? 😱 😂 uhm okay. Thank you for letting me know. If my spouse can come with, I’ll have to instruct him not to try and be funny there. I’m sure they won’t have much of a sense of humor.

They are people just like us. My interviewer joked around with me about funny notes done in a speeding ticket by the officer etc. so they're not all stone cold.

Obviously, there is a limit to the funny business but I'm sure they also understand that some people use humor to deal with the stressful nature of the situation. :)

  3. Sorry for the double post. I can't find a way to edit.

Congrats!! For the same day oath, do you know if they were doing multiple oath ceremonies at your office? Like, how many were in the ceremony with you? I have my interview on the 23rd at 11am and am curious if I'd have the option for same day at that time.

There were 17 of us total. Most of them had interviews that morning.

I wasn't really given a choice. The interviewer just stated I would do it at 9am, not really asking if I wanted to. :D

Suspect that if they do same day everywhere then you'll just be told to wait until the next one.

There was. In mine they had a husband take his oath but the wife just missed the cutoff so they had wait for the next one after. I did not hear when that was though but I imagine they do them every 3 hours or so?

It was a very streamlined ceremony. Little chat, staff read the oath and we responded with an "I do". Then some more information and picked up our certificates.

  5. I applied on August 23rd at the Phoenix office.

Received my interview notice on December 30th.

Had my interview today (February 9th) and the ceremony immediately after.

Went in at 7:30 to start the testing and in to the Oath room at 9am. :wow:

I was quite stunned when the interviewer told me that not only did I pass but I would also become a citizen the same day.

  6. Hi guys,

I hope all is going well for you all. I have a quick question. My husband was laid off last week and we have the interview at the end of January. We're going to ask a relative to be my co-sponsor. What paperwork shoould we tell this relative to fill out?

    Thanks for your help!

Can't wait for this to be over.

My wife got laid off a couple of weeks before our interview and our IO asked her if she still worked at her company. She said no and told him that the company had filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and he just shrugged like it wasn't a big deal.

We were still approved without any hassle.

  7. What's money without happiness? :)

If your husband can stand living in Sweden then try it. My wife visited Sweden on our honeymoon and not speaking the language drove her nuts in 3 days and she started feeling really isolated.

It could have been because I hadn't been home in 3 years so everyone was trying to grab my attention and such but do not underestimate the impact it might have on your husband when he can't understand people around him.

Many a time have I thought to bring my wife to Sweden and if not live there at least do an extended tour of duty over there so she can truly see how amazing Sweden and its people can be.

I have been here in the states long enough to not miss it terribly much anymore but I can't wait to take her hiking in Fjallen soon.

Good luck with whichever way you both decide to go!!

  8. Hello all,

I just came back from my interview and thought I would give your the story.

We had a 7.15am appointment in Phoenix, AZ and we arrived early which was a good thing because the USCIS office is kind of hidden away at the back of a strip mall.

Once they opened we were screened by security who must have had a great morning because they were all really pleasant and welcoming. My wife and I waited until around 8.10am before our names were called by a young man who escorted us to his office.

We were told the interview would be recorded and then sworn in.

The IO asked my wife the basic what is your full name, address and DOB and then turned to me and asked the same thing.

He then asked the standard are you a terrorist questions and had a few questions regarding my military service.

He looked at all of our pictures (we only brought about 30 of them) and asked if he could keep the copies of our utility bills, car loan and such.

We got a piece of paper that stated that he is recommending our approval and took my I-94 as well as crossed out my F1 Visa page in my passport.

I asked if he wanted my EAD but he told me to keep it until the green card arrives and then destroy it.

All in all it was a very pleasant experience and I feel stupid for being worried.

I'm just waiting for the USCIS website to update with the approval notice.

    :)
