Yup, it's very common. They are not required to look at any documents...usually everything they need to know to make a decision is on the DS-160.

There's nothing you can just do to establish strong ties to return home...they generally take time (steady job, extensive travel to other countries, etc.).

You are free to apply again. Generally you should only do so if there is a change in your circumstances, and after some time. If there is a change in your circumstances,

I guess it will indeed take me some time. Thanks

I thought a tourist visa gives you a max 3-month stay that’s why I said “short time” 😬 my bad but you’re right, though.

  3. Hi, guys. I recently just got denied of my US tourist visa.

A little background: I’m a college student from the Philippines and wanted to have a short time vacation in the United States before my graduation.

Upon rejection of application, the American consulate officer handed me a blue script that says I failed to provide strong ties with my country eventhough I have told them that I’ll be returning home after two months to attend my graduation. I had all the documents, even a letter from school and my student’s checklist and other documents to support but they did not even bother to look at them.. I know this is common, though. Anybody else who had the same experience? What steps did you make to finally get the visa? Thank you!
