After many moons away, I finally have an update. My fiance got package 3 today. It's about time!!!
I don't know why my process just kind of hit a mountain and is taking its time to climb over it. I'll still be happy as long as my man gets here before the end of the year.

Wow Safitu!!!!!!!!!
Congratulations
What a relief to have that part over with. Are you staying there and both coming here together?
That will be a wonderful trip...together.
Way to go! first Feb. filer to get visa...nice work.
Sue
Thanks so much!!!! It is such a relief...my anxiety was really getting to me...I worried about every little thing and in the end, everything was fine! ... I'll share a more detailed account of how everything went once I get back.
So were now in Dar es Salaam and were going to make the 9 hour bus ride back to Arusha tommorow (Thurs); My flight leaves from Arusha on Saturday nite but it would be like $5000 for him to get on the same flight (NW/KLM). So hes going to say bye to friends and family and fly out a few days after I leave. He'll fly into JFK cos its the cheapest. A one way flight is going to be about $1100 on BA or Swiss. Its horribly expensive but worth it. I'm so happy my babys coming home to me!!!!
That was amazingly quick and I am immensly jealous but happy for you and yours! tell us the details from the interview! That is sooo great!!!

I finally got an affirmative from the NVC yesterday.. they mailed my petiton to the embassy in Accra yesterday!!!!
ABOUT DAMN TIME!!!
oh, and I might have an opportunity to go to Ghana this summer as a group leader for some high school students.
-
sad face!
I just called the NVC and my petiton is still in the US going through administrative review. I got my letter from the NVC on 3/14. I just new it would be in Accra by now.
-
I'd like to know the outcomings of this. Good luck in getting that moved up. Be sure to hassle the embassy w/ emails and calls!
-
Has anyone who is at the NVC stage actually get contacted when your petition reached there? What about when they mailed it to the appropriate embassy?
Is it necessary to call/email them to be sure all of this is on track? If so, what is an appropriate amount of time to wait before calling/emailing them?

I really did search this site for info- but the word "touch" is used in so many posts, I didn't get anywhere.
I have two quick questions:
1. Do "touches" always go to your e-mail when they occur? ( or do you have to check the USCIS site?)
2. Is there a way to view a log of touches, or is it only the most recent date on the USCIS website?
Thanks so much
Hi,
Can you tell me HOW you find out if your case file has been "touched"?
I am eternally grateful!
If you check your status from your account at USCIS and it says last updated, say 3/9/07 and tomorrow the date is different, 3/13/07, then your file has been touch. The most recent date is the last time your file was touched.
Hope I explained that clearly.
-
from what I know, touches are just the updated date of your file. It means that someone actually physically "touched" your file. They don't always email you unless they change the status, usually the NOA2.
I don't know of a log of touches.
-
Woo... happy to recieve my emails confirming the NOA2! Very happy feeling.
Sorry for those still waiting It has to be soon...
Congratulations! I'm very happy for you.
That's you, Ghanalove, safitu, Gabatcha, abdounjen... I think I'm the only one left in our time frame still waiting.
it's on its way then, I just know it!
-
Woo... happy to recieve my emails confirming the NOA2! Very happy feeling.
Sorry for those still waiting It has to be soon...
tonyek we did it! I got my NOA2 email today too!!! VSC made my week!!!!! :goofy: :D
-
How many Feb filers are left from VSC without their NOA2 yet?
count me as two, you and me
-
Question:
For people who called USCIS to check their status and talked to an actually person, did that give you another touch? I guess I'm asking if when you talk to someone on the phone, does that mean they touch your file?
-
WOW! That was lightening fast. CONGRATS!!!
I hope you get to breeze through the rest of the process!!
VCS rocks!
-
oh yeah! I got touched today too... I hope that's a sign for more to come soon!!!!!!
-
So Wonderful! Congrats! That's awesome! I hope the rest of the process goes just as quick for you.
VSC please work for me!!!
-
Congrats! You must be so excited... I am!!!
-

well il guess ill place it in the other format and place the header as, Circumstances under how we met, or is that title too long?
I don't think so. I think being as thourough as possible is the best bet. The longer the better.
-
the have the sample lette for the intent to marry but not for how we met, i was just wondering if the format i placed is good enough.
I used the same format of all the other letters. I just wrote the explanation in the body. No RFE yet, so...

Here's a timeline question. When I started my timeline, for some reason there was no k1 option for type of visa, only 130, so that's what I selected. At some other point I was able to select k1. So now when searching the timelines, it looks like I have filed a K1 and a 130. Is there any way to edit out the 130?
I've got the same question...
-
most people around here say to take it to the interview. I think there's a section about that in the FAQ's too..
http://www.visajourney.com/faq/k1k2visa-I129f.html#3.3
take a look at that, this might help!

There are so many opinions on this subject, but I just want to add that when I was in Ghana for three and a half months, as soon as I got back to the US I wanted to go back. I was miserable here and I lived here for 21 years!!!
It's a very hard adjustment to make coming from a different country, especially if you only know a few people here. I think two weeks is not enough time to deal with the culture shock. When I first got to Ghana, I too wanted to come back home, but I used my support system there to deal with my homesickness and culture shock.
I would suggest the same thing for your cousin. If it is her relationship that she is unhappy with, that's another ordeal, but if it is just her adjustment to her new environment, her partner should assist her in getting acclamated.
All the best!
