  1. Yes, it is the approval notice with approved time period stated as well.

I took InfoPass early November for my local office where they said that since they do not process I-131 applications here, they cannot help me. I also told about my international flight, and so the officer submitted yet another service request for me, and that was it. I received email from USCIS as a response to send me scan copies of documents since they want to REVIEW my case. I sent all scan copies but no response after that!

I spoke to Tier2 officer on call to follow up about that, and he asked me to disregard that since my case is already approved. So asked me to wait for document to arrive. :(

But yes, I did not take my passport & plane tickets during my last infopass appointment. Do you think that worth a try even when last time they told me that they do not process this type of application?

  2. I have a similar case here:

I applied for I-131 (Employement Based) in July 2018, and also received the approval notice for the same on Aug 23, 2018 but I have yet not received my travel document in mail, and it has already been more than 3 months now since my approval.

My address is same, and I also contacted USCIS customer service multiple times to that they submitted service request. I received a standard mail from USCIS that they will now review my case, and wait for 60-90 days. I contacted USCIS customer service again, and spoke to Tier2 Officer a few times in last 1 month. Since they can access to my case history, they confirmed that my I-131 application is approved, but they are not sure what is current status. They suggested to put another Service Request, and I did that on Nov 21. When I spoke to Tier2 office yet again this week, he told me to wait for that service request response. As of today, my online case status history says that an officer is assigned for my last submitted service request.

I do not know, why it is taking this long (3 months since my approval notice) to send a travel document in mail. Is this normal? Can you please suggest me the next steps.

I have travel plan end of Dec, and I do not want to cancel my trip because of this. Can I just travel along with my approval notice? Is it risky or do the port of entry office will have access to my case history and allow me to enter US again?

Awaiting for your quick response please.
    Thank you, & regards

  3. My I-131 application (Employed Based) was approved back in Aug 2018 and I still haven't received the travel document. I spoke to USCIS customer service multiple times, Tier1 (regular customer representative and Tier2 Immigration Officer). Immigration officer has more information about my case, and recently after submitting Service Request, he told me that this Service Request has due date of Dec 6th. This means that you should receive email from assigned officer with his response. I told him that I have opened Service Request earlier as well, and there was just a standard response that please wait for 60-90 days as we review your case but since then nothing! I do not understand, my "APPROVED" application is taking this long. All I am asking is to send me the travel document in mail which what is stated in my approval notice as well. The immigration officer on call was nice and told me to wait as he understand the frustration but there is nothing else that he can do further. Texas Service Center is processing my Service Request and I should have something in mail or email by Dec6th - Which I am sure will be another letter with standard response to wait for 60-90 days.

It is just the document that they need to print and send in mail. Why should it take THIS long, even after "approval"?

Anyone has similar experience? Please suggest what to do as I have international travel on Dec 28th and I must have this travel document in hand before I leave the country.
