  1. Our (packet 4??) interview packet was sent from Manila on March 14 but we havent received it yet. Is it sent courier or just postal mail?

    Thank ya.

    Orimai

hi Orimai!...got my interview packet thru a courier...WWWexpress, a courier affiliated with DHL. it arrived on Feb. 15, 2007 with the date of my med exam and interview indicated therein. Enclosed therein was the DS forms 156k, 156 and 157. My interview date is April 19. like everyone else, i am a little nervous too. wish us well....Godspeed on yours too!

  2. hello everyone!

i got hold of someone through call centers 3 times already since our case has been received by the embassy. i asked them if i am going to receive a letter (pre-interview notice) from the embassy but all that i talked to have the same answer. i will not get any notice or letter acknowledging my case. well, i had been reading posts here noticing that ,mostly everyone who have their case forwarded in manila received a pre-interview notice. mine has been received in manila february 20, until now i have not gotten anything from the embassy. is it alright if i dont have the pre-interview notice or do i have to let my fiance call the embassy and ask regarding this matter?

call center guys told me just to wait for my packet 4 which will be send 90-180 days at the most after manila embassy received the case. we are hoping that our case will be included on the may interviews.

btw, congratulations to those who got approved and have their visas on hand! all of us deserve to be happy. GOOD LUCK to everyone.

don't worry about that, you will receive you pre-interview notice soon. the manila embassy received my petition paper on Dec 28, 2006. i received my pre-interview notification last january 23, 2007. then my appointment packet arrived yesterday, ( March 10, 2007 ) with the enclosed DS-156, DS- 156K and DS 157 forms. i must bring them with me together with the required documents to the embassy for my interview. there was no DS 230 part 1 or part 2. i guess they will give it to me to fill out there during my interview.

just wait for the document, you will receive them on time. i will have my interview on April 19. please pray for me. thanks and good luck to you too!

  3. Hello everyone,

This is my first post so don't flame me for protocol or if I say something out of place.

I joined VJ because of two reasons. First, I just sent off my initial I-129F packet to NSC for processing and 2) I used to be an Applications Adjudicator (Immigration Officer) at the NSC (2003) so I thought perhaps I could help out someone with any questions they have on how the NSC operates. Or at least the part that I worked in. Some of the processes are the same regardless of departments. I'd be happy to give you as much info as I can as there aren't any real secrets and since I don't work there any longer I can speak about it.

As for my K-1 journey, to make a long story short, I travelled last summer to Kiev and met a wonderful woman (and her daughter) quite by accident. We spent a lot of time together during my trip, fell in love and the rest as they say is "history".

We finally got around to compiling all the docs and as I said, I sent them off to NSC yesterady so I guess I fall into the February Filers category. I hope to have her and her daughter here by August (hopefully)!

So, I make myself available to anyone who has questions about the Nebraska Service Center and its quirks or the BCIS as it were in general.

Finally, to answer a question that some of you might be thinking - "no, I can't do anything to help you specifically with your petition. Just like I have to wait in line with everyone else on mine also. Yes, i still have friends who work there, but its againstthe rules to do favors and can get a person fired. And I would never put my friends in that position." But I'd be happy to answer other non-specific questions as I can. I don't know everything but I will try to help where I can.

    Thanks.

    D.

    huskerkiev,

you're an angel!...i hope you can really help me with my K1 visa problem.

my problem is regarding my daughter who is not listed the petition. my fiance hired a visa attorney to do the paperworks for him. the petition was approved by the USCIS only to find out that my daughter was not listed in the petition.as my interview schedule is coming, i don't know how i will go about it if they question me about having a daughter when it says no children in the section where it is being asked in the form.

my daughter is 17 years old and will be pursuing her studies in the Philippines. although we all have come up of not having her join with us there in the US, we still want her to derive a K2 visa from me. my fiance and i want her to have timely visits to us in the states once i get my visa approved. is it be possible for her to have K2 visa?

if that can't be possible, we may opt to get a multiple entry visa for her will the law permit it?

so any of the 2 options will be okay for me and my USC fiance.

thank you so much for hearing my story. God bless!

hi cherryred, i am from cebu! i also am an october K1 filer. like your friend i also have searched online for my med exam and interview sked. i am already listed in the April sked, however, i have not received the appointment packet from the embassy. i am expecting it to reach me either this week or in the first week of March. i hope to meet up with you if you or your friend so that we can share our experiences with this k1 journey thingy. send me a message please....

  5. hello everyone! can anyone tell me what are the chances of my daughter becoming a derivative under my K1 petion? the petiotion was filed by our chosen agency, was submitted to the USCIS and approved only to find out that my daughter's name was omitted in the petition paper. she's already 17, although we all have decided not to have her join with us in the U.S., i still want her to have a visa as my k1 derivative.i hope i can still do something about this as my interview date is on April 19, 2007.

thank you all for your response. :help:
