It took them a month... it was a terrible wait and we eventually went up to the consulate window and asked about it- they said it was out of their hands and they couldn't do anything, but then the next week we had notice that the visa was approved and then a day or two later we were able to pick up the passport.

Wow , That is great news it got approved. The wait is frustrating very understanding we are in the same boat they asked for my husbands passport/ medical and since the whole month of November we have not heard anything im not sure if it is because of the holidays or what could be the delay. And we don’t know what else to do, hopefully we get a answer soon this week since no holidays are coming up.

Hello! My Husband had his immigrant visa appointment in Ciudad Juarez in November and was denied. We submitted the I-601 waiver and an expedite request and it was all approved on February 8th at USCIS. The consulate in Juarez took their sweet time in contacting us but a month later they sent a letter requesting us to send them nothing else but his passport.

From everything I have read online this means that we should be close. We shouldn't have to do the medical appointment or fingerprints again because it is all within 6 months of the time of his previous appointment and denial. We mistakenly thought we were supposed to hand-deliver his passport so we came up to Juarez and have been waiting around hoping for our approved visa and packet, but at the CEAC site it still shows REFUSED. We call the hotline daily asking if they have more information but all they see is that the passport was received at the consulate on March 23rd. They tell us to keep calling.

It has been over 2 weeks now since they received the passport, but only 8 business days due to la semana santa. Our lawyer called the hotline in the US and they said that average processing of the passport is 2 weeks, but it could be more, and they could still request more documents. However, people online have mentioned it taking only a week to get their approved visa and packet after the consulate in Juarez received their passport. I've only seen one person say that they sent in the passport and were waiting 2 months later.

Should we assume that they're going to potentially sit on the passport without doing anything for another month or two and just pack up and leave, or continue to wait another couple business days and hope that they should be sending it out any time now? It feels like we're so close but we've been here in Juarez since March 18th and with our two young children (1 and 3) it has been really hard on us, not to mention having to pay for the room we're staying in.

    Thanks for any insight.

How long did it take them to return your passport im kind of in the same situation, and we are afraid something could go wrong?

What’s your status? Hope all is good.

Nothing yet , it’s really frustrating not to hear anything back from them yet im not sure how long they would take for them to print the visa or send out a decision, since they received on November 14, 2018. Hope it doesn’t take much longer .... it’s very frustrating this whole situation

He is waiting in Ciudad Juarez, since that is where we registered the address for pick up,  well i hope we get a answer this week the wait seems forever ......

I have no new updates this week call center still keeps on saying it’s under counseler review do you know if by any chance that still takes another 4-6 Months ? I really don’t understand what would take them so long to return the passport with the visa on it...

I know the feeling of having to wait especially when it’s around the holidays. I was happy he got before Thanksgiving, but had to wait after Veterans Day and following Monday. ( Mexican holiday- Consulate closed as well)

Keeping checking the CEAC site like a hawk, Watch for Any Update Date changes! Your almost there.

*Note even though on 11/15 stated Issued, on his Visa it stated 11/20 ( which was 2 working days later, 3rd day 11/21-received email to pick up package)

Is your husband waiting in Cuidad Juarez or did he select another city for DHL pick up?  My fiancé was in Cuidad Juarez for 2weeks, 1 day. It was longer than expected stay.

Have you checked the CEAC site? Once my fiancé change to “Issued” it took 3 working days after from Issued when he recieved his packet.  Is his under Administrative Process?  If not try calling Consulate again. They usually say 2-10 working days.

Yes i have cheked it nothing has changed yet, i have called the consulate and they say the last update they have is that an officer has the packet got it November 14, 2018 and it’s under review, thats all that they tell me, to keep on calling. 😕 It’s really frustrating...

Did you get a waybill number from Consulate ; from there you can track in DHL website? I heard someone not get a Text/email and called the consulate for their waybill number. If it’s been that long call the Consulate.I sent my fiancé there to ask - generic reponse  takes 2-10 working days to receive Visa.  I have heard 2-3 working days. The waits seems forever.

We unfortunately have not heard anything back they just keep telling us it’s under review and with the holidays coming through im guessing that’s why it’s taking them a little longer not really sure

Yes!!!!!, He will have to submit passport and medical - follow instructions to print off sheets so you don’t pay courier to send through DHL to Consulate. My fiancé had an approved I-212, no 2nd interview; submit passport and new medical as well. Recieved 11/9 at Consulate vía DHL. 11/13 noticed update date change in CEAC site. 11/14- Application recieved- 11/15 changed from Refused  to “ Issued”; now just waiting for text/ email for waybill to pick up package  to enter the US.  Your almost there!

Thank you that’s a relief to hear!! We are still waiting on our packet to arrive im guessing because of the holidays and stuff it has been taking them a while to update this just makes it very anxious wait 😕

  9. My husbands I601 has been approved. He received instructions from Ciudad Juarez just to send his updated medical/passport, he was not asked to have a second interview because it has been less than a year since his first interview. I just want to know how long will Ciudad Juarez take until they send his visa? Has anyone had the same experience? It has been a little over 5 business days and we are just anxious because holidays are coming and don’t really know what’s going to happen next.
