  1. I applied for expedited naturalization under section 319 b and requested my interview to be at Jacksonville Florida field office since i have a sister living there. Ive read on this forum that some of the field offices will process everything in one day and others would take few weeks before oath taking. Now, my question is does any of you guys know if Jacksonville, Florida office will do the oath taking same day? i just need atleast estimated time frame from interview, oath taking and getting a passport. ive read here that you are only allowed to stay in the US for a certain of time and has to go back overseas or else your expedited naturalization process will be invalid.

    i would apreciate your help..thanks.

  2. Im wondering if anyone can help me with my question.

I have a Filipina spouse here in the US that has a temp permanent residency card. I work for the US government. I want to take a job overseas in Europe. Has anyone had any problems getting a visa for a spouse that is Filipino citizen married to a US citizen going to work in Europe? I’m curious if anyone has ran into this issue before or has any advise for us.

    Thanks in advance

  3. I have leftover US passport style photos from the ones we sent in with our original I-129F petition, is it ok to use these for the AOS submission or do they all have to be new? Pretty sure I'll get new ones just to be safe but wanted to check what others have done?

Thanks and apologies for the need for reassurance on something seemingly trivial, there is something about this whole process that makes you want to double check every step you take!

i used the same pic from my I 129 f for my AOS fortunately i ddnt have problem with it.

The flight leaves manila 10:55 pm on september 11 to guam.

Hi, i wish we flew the same month and date coz thats exactly my flight before i had 10:55pm starting Manila to Guam, then Guam to HOnolulu you'll arrive morning right? with continental Airlines..nway, have a safe travel..God bless you!

Hello, yeah i really wish to have someone when i fly to USA,yeah your right i will reach guam early morning with continental airlines, but i have a question,do i need to get my baggage when i get to guam if not when is the time to get it? i will change plane in honolulu, i will be heading for houston. i will appreaciate your reply.thanks

    riza

hi Riza, you dont have to get your luggage in Guam since its a connecting flight continental Airlines will just transfer it to your next plane going to Honolulu. I think you will only get your luggage when u reach Honolulu since you have to transfer another Airline . But i am not so certain with that since my port of destination is Honolulu, so just to make sure before you step down the plane in Honolulu just ask one of the flight attendant if you have to get your luggage or if its them who will transfer it to your next Airline.

have a safe travel and always take care!

  7. My soon-to-be-in-laws booked us a cruise out of excitement (without our knowledge that they already paid it) to Mexico for our honeymoon as their gift. As what I know, K-1 visa is just a single entry and this is the confusion we, my Tony and I are going through now. The cruise will depart from Florida (where we will get married too) going to Mexico which is not a US teritory. I talked to him about the problems might arise if we will take the risk of taking the cruise.

My fiance grew up and spent half of his life in Florida that is why he doesn't like the idea of staying too long in the said state. Hawaii and Puerto Rico are good alternative choices but if we will take this option (HI or PR), will I be fine travelling holding only my passport with K-1 visa (2 days after our wedding)? I do not want to take any chances.

Replies, comments, suggestions and help will be highly appreciated. :)

    Julie

I would be happy to suggest to have your honeymoon here in Hawaii there's a lot of things you can do here and for sure you will have a great time

  8. In my reserve flights, I will arrive at Agana, Guam 4:00am and depart of Houston at 6:25am (non-working hours).

Do they have immigration officers at this hours?

Hi yes , there will be immigration officers this hours.. my port of entry was Guam and i arrived their around 4:30am i never had a problem everything went smoothly immigration officer was so nice and even congratulate me for my upcoming wedding. He asked my yellow enveloped which has my medical record in it, had finger scanning, he asked me to smile and took picture of me and that was it give me back my passport with my I-94.

  9. Glad you call them  ...they're pretty reasoble plus you talk to a live person and of course you can visit their local offices. You can compare their quote fare prices to the online prices like cheaptix, travelocity, etc. before you buy. By the way...tell us about that VONAGE $25/month for unlimited international calls...is that true? Never heard of it  .

    Coco Puff

I got that vonage idea from Kuya Gary and Ate Luz from 1 of their posts. Its like this if you have a DSL/broadband connection at home its gonna work, there's a router that youll have to plug into your pc connection and with a cordless phone you can talk to your loved ones in the US till you want. On my case I have the Sacramento area code and I call Byron on his landphone and cellphone and vice versa whenever we want for $25 a month, thats all. Its really great no more $1500 monthly bills for us  Byron ordered the router, sent it here, I set it up and got myself cordless phones and I'll leave it here so I can talk to my family whenever I want for $25 a month when we moved in the US . You can check this site www.vonage.com for additional details

Thanks for the reminder Meadeguy! You can talk to your fiance/fiancee about it and let me know if your interested so I can do the refer a friend on my account and you can use the vonage for a month free and 2 months for myself.

Yep Been doing this since I met my girl. Works excelent. We talk for hours and hours and some more hours. The only thing that you might have to configure is the PPP authentication to the DSL. If she has to dial into her DSL then she will configure the router to do it. After that its plug and play. Let me know if you want to know more or have any questions.

    Take Care.

  10. Ok, you guys have got me curious. My fiancee doesn't have the internet at her home, just at her work. I have unlimited internet here. So how does it work? Does she have to be online for us to talk? or just me?

She has to have DSL connection at home or wherever u would like the put the Vonage device.. You both have to have vonage for unlimited calling (US and CANADA) and no, you dont have to be online to talk. you just need the Vonage Device, DSL connection and Telephone (cordless or corded) to talk. :)

by the way, Happy Trip to ate Ana!!! and Im leaving tomorrow to meet my fiance, Wohooooo!

    -TeSsA-

Vonage has many local numbers. So you dont really need a vonage phone if you have a regular land line. She just needs the Vonage phone so you can dial a USA number and not have to dial long distance. It works basically like a regular phone. You get a regular local telephone number. Well if she doesnt have internet. Look into how much it would cost for dsl. My fiancee dsl cost 1000 peso a month through PLDT. Really quite cheap actually.

    Good luck

  11. I dont know if anyone has mentioned this before. It was on my mind and I thought I would tell everyone. I keep seeing people on the forums complaining about high telephone bills.

I dont know if you ever heard of vonage. I had vonage send me a phone I configured it to use with her internet and then sent it to the philippines. I talk to my many many hours a night. Every night. The best part is that I only pay 25 bucks a month for unlimited calling. I tryied useing yahoo messanger to call but it didnt work so well. The thing about vonage is that its hardware based VOIP; so it never goes through your computer. Also you connect a regular phone to it so you dont have to be stuck at your computer. There has been like 2 times in the past two months when her internet was so slow I could hear her very well but other than that it works so so well. Her internet dsl even has bad connection and it still works very well.

Hey I just thought I would mention it. If anyone wants to talk about it feel free to contact me.

    Take Care,

    Chad and Mides

  12. PatientlyWaiting - My assumption is that visapoint is for petition-based, non-immigrant visas like student (J), (Crew ('C) temporary workers (H/L), Investors (E), etc. and not K visas. While K is non-immigrant, the intention is to adjust eventually to immigrant status. The K visa is also processed by embassy's Immigrant Visa Unit which is schedules interview according to "priority" hence K does not qualify for VisaPoint. But that is just my humble opinion.

Any one wants to pay $10 and try to schedule a K appointment using VisaPoint? Who knows, we might be in for a surprise.

Alanlvsjudy - Dont waste your money, you will have to wait your turn like everyone else. We ALL miss our sweethearts. I would suggest putting that ten bucks with $1990 more and go see her.

    and

RobHankins - Yep, I paid the $10. They don't tell you in advance, but it doesn't work for K1.

Haha. Yes I actually am going to see her for the 3rd time in a couple weeks. Thank God my tickets are not 1900. Geez. I’m glad I live in Honolulu. I get my plane ticket for $700-900. Thanks for your responses I really didn’t know about the VISA point. I knew it was too good to be true through. Cause this is what the website says. Doesnt say anything about K visa's; thats why I was so curious.

"""""All nonimmigrant visa applicants, except diplomatic (A), official (G), personal employees of A and G visa holders (A-3 and G-5), certain U.S. Government sponsored exchange visitors (J), and certain NAFTA treaty nationals (TN) and treaty dependents (TD), must pay the machine-readable visa application fee equal to $100 U.S. dollars. """"""

I guess I will be waiting; then wait; hum maybe wait some more. I wondering if the US Embassy in Manila is hiring. Maybe they can use some help processing K1's. Hey I would even go volunteer to go help for free. What an idea huh.

Thanks for all your responses :)

  13. Wow very happy today. Got NOA 2 approved 12 Feb 2007. I called NVC and they told me that they had already sent my packet to Manila. 9 days later after NOA 2 very shocked I thought that it would so sure be 2-3 weeks. Now lets see how long Manila takes. God Help Me Please!!!!

I recieved a case number from NVC MNL2007547XXX. What can I do with this number? Anything? I tryied to dig in some of the archives but really havent found anything. Can you call Manila to check the status of your case. Or no. They wont talk to you at all?

Thanks and good luck to everyone.

    Chad & Mides

  14. I dont know if this is true for anyone else but the USCIS visa status website did not work for us. Right now our case still says pending when it is no longer pending it is approved. We ended up getting our NOA 2 in the mail a week later after the visa was approved. We also never received any touches or really anything at all. I wrote Processing Center about this. I dont have much faith ill get any real answers back since my case has already been approved.

I just thought I would add this to still give november filers some hope that are still waiting.

Just curious if anyone else is haveing this problem.

    11/10 Sent K1

    11/17 Noa 1

    02/12 Noa 2
