Hi Sherri! I hope you are able to do your interview in the DR. We also requested that but never heard back from the embassy after several attempts and request. We are now planning to stay in Haiti to do the interview and are right at the end. My fiancé said that the unrest is winding down so hopefully it will not affect the processing of visas. We are praying so much and are trying to keep faith. Good luck!

I'm sorry to hear about your problems getting an interview. We are sending in all the documents today after we get back the medical exam results this morning and are hoping to hear back soon. Have you had any luck calling the Haitian US Embassy?
This process is so long and hard, I feel really sad that people's lives are not settled because of these issues. I will pray that you get an interview soon!

Our K1 has been at NVC for the last two months because Haiti wasn't accepting K1/K3 visas because they were under staffed due to unrest. We contacting the Dominican Republic to see if we could transfer countries but we just got an e-mail yesterday stating that our visa was sent to PAP in Haiti and could take a few weeks to get there. We are curious if there's three months of visas that have been backed up at the NVC now released to Haiti or if ours just happened to be sent down. We are curious if anyone else that just got notified that their visa was sent to PAP this week. Will we probably be waiting forever for an interview? Thank you!

Hi Yrneh,
I'm sorry to hear about your case taking so long. I would try to contact your political officers in your state to see if they will advocate for you. They may or may not be able to reach out to the embassy and expedite things especially with the unrest. I pray everything works out!
