  1. exatly 3 months to the day got a letter off USCIS in London. Sent the copy of marriage certificate with I130 as per instructions. They say because the marriage certificate is signed and sealed by the mayor at the time, that isn't good enough. They want prove that there is a public record of the wedding. Just saying so that no else has the same RFE.

    PS got married in PA

PPS good job the old gurls over in PA seeing the parents

Correct--you need (and always have) the recorded copy of the marriage certificate. This is generally available from the county (in the US) or the legal authority that certifies your marriage.

opps my bad must have missed that in the destructions on the website and on the form, good job she is at home, in the US to correct MY mistake.

  3. Hi everyone!

I know that I have not posted very much here but I need some advice. We mailed off the DS-230 part 1 and the DS-2001 on the 7th and We have not heard anything from the embassy in London.

    Here is my timeline:

    April 2006 I-130 approved

Sat on the DS-230 DS-2001 until the 7th of this month.

Now we are waiting  .

Any advice will be appreciated, thanks.

    Mrs M,

I have just pulled this quote off the London Embassy Website

    What do I do first?

The biographic data form DS-23O-I should be completed for each person applying for a visa, regardless of age. The form may be photocopied if insufficient copies are received for each family member. The DS-230-I should be completed and returned immediately to the Immigrant Visa Unit at the Embassy in order for them to begin the administrative processing of the application. Failure to return the DS-230-I promptly will delay the processing of the application.

Don't know if there is a time limit of say a year, but would be best to contact them and see what they say
