In some articles, they said that If you didn't submit your I-684 to NVC, so you have to present it in the interview. In your situation, because you hadn't applied for I-684 so your wife had to show them lter in the interview

As your case, I have 2 options for you :

1) You should say "yes" if you plan to come to the US at least one month since your interview if you pass it. Cause after one month after your interview, your SSN will be issued one week after your first arrival to US. If you take a flight 1 week after your interview, you will be stucked with the SSN for at least 5 weeks, my sister has come to SSN center for twice and they told her to wait cause it would be issued automatic by the order from USCIS. So she can't register for ID or anything else, but she received her GreenCard just after 2 weeks from her arrival to US.

2) You should say "No" if you plan to come to US at least from 5 - 10 days after your interview, then you will go to SSN center in person, It will take from 1-2 weeks to receive your SSN card
