I had my interview yesterday, we got approved!! I just wanted to find out if the Ceac site changes to Administrative Processing for all K1 visas once approved?

Tip - If you have an upcoming interview in winter, bring warm clothes! We waited in the courtyard and it was rather chilly! Also make sure you have tax transcripts, they don't actually want tax returns, but rather tax transcripts. But bring everything!

    Hello! Congrats!

What do you mean by tax transcripts? Our attorney told us to gather tax returns. What exactly is a tax transcript? I see on the IRS website there are return transcripts, record of account transcript, account transcript, and wage & income transcript to download.

The website may say it is closed, however, we had our interview on May 30th and had to 1) go pick up our passport at the embassy on Friday 31st (last friday of the month) but also had to go back and get an original document they forgot to return to us just before / as they were closing.

They officially close on Fridays at 12:45 and they are there working in the morning, however, it appeared to be almost completely South African office workers there on Friday morning.   They had a question about my case and had to call out to the interviewer for clarification.

Thank you so much! You just have me hope we won’t be delayed any longer if things go well :)

my fiance visa came to CPT and it was quick after approval about 3 days is when we received notification that the visa was on the way and the pick up was very easy and smooth too!

thank you so much!! I am just a little worried because his interview is on a Thursday morning. Then the website says the consulate is closed on the last Friday of the month (the day after his interview), and then the fourth of July is on the following Wednesday, so I am just hoping things don't get backed up.

  4. Hi everyone! My fiancé has his interview on June 27. For those of you in the CPT area who were approved, how long did it take you to get a notification from DHL your visa was available for pickup?

I have seen seen several people say how happy they were with the quick turn around in receiving the visa but I wasn’t sure if they were located closer to JHB or in the western cape.

  5. Thanks for the adivce everyone! I called the embassy yesterday morning and they sent it to the wrong email on April 15----so there was over a month we could have been moved along :(

but that's okay....we know have an interview scheduled for July 25...any adivce on how to get an earlier one? Does anyone know a number to call?

    Best,

Have you heard anything yet? you should try emailing them yourself. If your case is in Joburg they normally send out pkt 3 and 4 after u inquire thru email........

Thank you! I will try that! Which email address do you suggest using? The one my lawyer used is not the same as on the embassy’s website...

Hey there! Jumping on the bandwagon here. Our case was received by the U.S embassy in JHB on the 9th of April (the site said "READY"), this morning after emails not replied to, I found another number for the embassy on this forum (THANK YOU!) and guess what!? They had emailed Packet 3 to the wrong email address on April 17th already. After thinking there was something wrong with our case, I finally received Packet 3 today and have booked my interview for June 20th! HAPPY DAYS!

Just wanted to add, this forum has come in super handy, and I'm so happy for all those that have been approved! You guys have given me constant hope that the wait is almost over!

Hello! Would you mind sharing that number? I think we may be having the same issue with the address. They received ours on 9th of April and we have not heard a thing. But I cannot get through with any numbers we have found.

    HI

4 weeks after I got noa2, I emailed the JHB consulate asking about my packet 3, and they replied the same day with it.

Thank you, our lawyer emailed the almost two weeks ago and they haven't gotten back to us :(

  9. Hi Everyone,

Does anyone have any advice for how long it takes to receive the packet in the mail (in south africa) after we received the NOA2 approval. We received the approval on March 12, so it has been over 2 months. Our lawyer keeps saying we cannot submit the DS-160 until we receive a packet in the mail or an email saying they have our documents and we can submit the DS 160.

I AM BEYOND FRUSTRATED at this points, especially since I am seeing on other timelines people received the packet a week or 2 after JHB received their case. Our lawyer emailed the embassy 2 weeks ago (granted I know there has been two SA holidays in the past weeks)- but still. Is there anything we can do? Anyone we can call?

    The numbers we called are:

    +27 (11) 290-3000

    +27 (11) 290-3500

    +27 (87) 550-2160

Two told us we needed an active DS160 form in the system for them to talk to us and the other was just a long automated message telling us to email the embassy.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

  10. Does anyone have advice for speeding up the process for unabridged birth certificate in south africa? My fiance went to his local home affairs the first week of November to apply for one and he still doesnt have it. He has gone to home affairs once a month and all they tell him is its not ready. He is in the western cape.
