  1. My wife arrived on a K-1 and we married within the 90 days. I got my AOS/EAD in before July 30 and have received NOA-1 on both. Biometrics is today August 7. My question is about the Advance Parole document. I have read the directions three or four times but I am still confused. My wife wants to go to Bogota to visit her family in a couple of months. Can anyone explain this form? Especially where it says attach a seperate piece of paper and explain how you qualify for advance parole. Can she leave the country before she is approved?

  2. The good news is that my fiancee and I had our interview on Friday April 13 and were approved with no problems. We were told to return Monday at 4:00 pm to receive the visa, which is what I have read here. The bad news is that when we got to the Embassy today the Security Guard would not let me in, only my fiancee. She waited until there were only three people left who had not recieved their visas and she still had not received hers. Then the gentleman in the window announced that the Embassy does not give out Fiancee Visas today that everyone left would have to come back tomorrow at 4:00. My fiancee spoke with one person who has been coming back everyday since last Wednesday only to hear the same message, come back tomorrow at 4:00 for your visa. Does anyone know if the Embassy only gives out K1 Visas on certain days? I have not heard of this. Any comments are appreciated because I am waiting here in Bogota and my flight leaves out Wednesday morning.

  3. I have been in Bogota for the past few days visiting my Fiancee. Yesterday when she checked her mail she received Packet 4. Things are moving fast now. Our interview date is April 13, 2007. She has all her paperwork with the exception of the Carta de DAS which she will get next week. I read that she should go ahead and make her Doctor's appointment now. How long does it take to get into the lab? Will she have enough time to go to the lab before her Dr.'s appointment? Also about the three vacinations that she needs. Is it better to go to the red cross and get them or wait until the Dr.'s visit to receive them? She needs Td, MMR, and Varicela. She does not have her shot record from when she was young. Any advice for the rest of the process including the interview? Thanks....

  4. My Fiancee is getting help from the agency that we met through in filing her paperwork from packet 3. The agency told her that she does not need the Certificado de Migratorio because she has never left Colombia. The agency helps literally hundreds of women and seems to have a good working knowledge of the K1 process. However, the Certificado de Migratorio is a new requirement. I did not know if she needed documentation proving that she has never left Colombia or not. Can anyone advise on this issue?????

  5. Tony,

I noticed that in your reply you stated not to worry if you met online or through an agency. Could you expand on that a little bit. I met my fiancee through a prominant marriage agency in Bogota. I have seen some posts, I do not remember if it was in this forum or the K-1 forum, but the comment was made to not tell immigration that you met through a PAID service. I am pretty sure that The USCIS knows that virtually every IMBRA required the member to pay a fee so I am not sure what the intent is here. I feel that my fiancee and I love one another just as much as couples who met in other ways do. I have plenty of phone records, pictures, emails, and other documentation to show proof of our relationship. I have been to Bogota twicw and we have kown each other for almost 1 year. I just don't think giving the Embassy false information is a good idea for anyone. I am for just telling the truth. Does anyone have any comments or ideas?

  6. My fiancee's application was received in Bogota yesterday. I have read al 28 pages of this thread and there is a lot of good information. Some say the Migratory DAS is required and some say no. I think the last consensus was yes it is required. I need a copy of the latest packet 3 & 4 if anyone could send it to me. If you could PM me I will give you my email. One person said that having the documents submitted in English slowed the interview process down but when I read the DS 2001 it says either is acceptable, any advice? Also how do you know which vaccinations are required for your particular case. I have noticed that some people go the health department or Red Cross to get their vaccinations. My fiancee's parent's are deceased and she has no idea what vaccinations she has had. Also she does not have her Baptismal Certificate. Is both a Baptismal Certificate and Birth Certificate required or is the Baptismal Certificate only required when you do not have a birth certificate? Where does she go to get Baptismal Certificate with marginal notes? Any help would be appreciated and I could really use those packets.

  7. I called the NVC today to see if they had received my fiance's K-1 application which was approved by the CSC on 2-14-2007. They stated they received it 2-20-2007 and sent it to the embassy in Bogota 2-22-2007. I tracked it through DHL and the embassy received it today. WOW that was fast. After months of waiting on the CSC this went really quick. I hope the rest of the process goes as fast and smoothly.

  8. I have looked at the USCIS web page which says they are currently processing applications received on or before July 17, 2006. But when I look at the VJ website and filter for my service center, California, I see tons of people who applied after July, including August, September, October and November that have received their NOA2. My application was received November 20, 2006, and I am seeing applications on VJ that were received after that that have already received their NOA2. When I talk to USCIS they say that the information on VJ can not be true because they are processing last July's applications. They tell me that there is no way the information on VJ website that is posted by individuals is true if the say they applied after July 17, 2006, and have already received their NOA2. I talked with my Congressman's office and they stated the same thing as USCIS. I am not upset about it but I am just looking for some clarification on the issue because I am new to everything and I guess I am just confused. Can anyone help me understand?

    11-13-2006- Mailed Packet I-129F

    11-20-2006- USCIS Received i-129F

    11-22-2006- Recieved NOA1

    11-28-2006- "Touched"

  9. The CSC received my application on November 20, 2006. As of yet I have only received my NOA-1. While looking at the

K-1 processing dates I am seeing applications that were received after mine being approved and NOA-2 being received by the applicant. I have heard nothing from the USCIS and when I check the status of my application online it simply states received and pending. My fiance is from Colombia and the others that are being processed ahead of mine are from other countries. Does this have something to do with it? Could someone shed some light on this for me, please!
