Though i filed at CSC, i didn't get any approval letter, only NOA1 stating my appointment of biometrics, after my biometrics i was waiting for that approval letter coz my friend told me that i can get one, but the next letter that i received stating card production already. and after 2 days i already get my new green card. Anyway CONGRATS!!!!

For the people who went to an early biometrics, does it matter what time of the day you go? Does it usually matter?

We arrived at biometrics 30 mins. early, we went through right away without any question, i dont know if that will matters. And it lasted only 15 mins. really fast.

I submit at least 5 pages with 3 to 4 picture each with caption, i included pictures with his families here taken specially holidays and events like thanksgiving, christmas and 4th of july, i noticed that most of pcitures i sent is his mom and me..he he he coz i liked teasing my mom-in law taking picture coz she doesn't like flash. My green card is already on my hands, it only takes 1 and 3 weeks processing without interview.

I got my approval letter in the mail today.... YEAH YEAH YEAH... I am finally on the list of approved.. OMG!!! So please add my Approval Date 12/21/09. Up until Thursday my status was not updated online or did not receive a text message.

Congrats to you, i filed my lifting of status Last October 27 and they got it Nov 2 and had my biometrics Dec. 10 and it's really amazing that my green card arrived Dec. 23 I also filed it on california office, they are working really fast this days... Thanks God.

You can file a I-130 petition to start the process today. You can petition for your daughter in the F2b category; LPR petitioning for an unmarried child over age 21. It will take about 11-12 years for your daughter to get an immigration visa. See the Visa Bulletin. http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/bulletin...letin_1360.html Filipinos in the F2b category with I-130s filed before July 1, 1998, are only now eligible for visas.

There are a couple of scenarios.

1. Your daughter cannot get married while you are an LPR. An LPR cannot petition for a married child, so her marriage makes her ineligible for a visa and the case will be closed. There is no way to revive it even if you later become a USC. MANY PEOPLE MAKE THEIR MISTAKE HERE BY GETTING MARRIED WHILE THE PETITIONING PARENT IS AN LPR. CASE WILL BE CLOSED. NO WAY TO REOPEN IT.

2. You become a USC while your unmarried daughter is waiting. The case for her will move to the F1 category (USC petitioning an umarried child) where it takes a Filipino about 17 years to get a visa. You can request that your daughter remain in the F2b category which is a shorter wait for a Filipino child.

3. You become a USC and THEN your daughter gets married. Her case would move to the F3 category (USC petitioning for a married child) where it takes a Filipino 19 years to get an immigration visa.

In any of the cases, your daughter will be able to bring along her unmarried children under age 21 (as determined by CSPA at the end of the wait for a visa). In the F3, her husband would be eligible for a visa.

Your daughter may qualify for a visitor visa. There is nothing that you can do aside from inviting her and offering to pay for her trip. She must apply on her own at the US Embassy. She needs to show them strong ties to the Philippines to indicate that she will not illegally immigrate to the US. For most Filipinos, this is incredibly hard to prove. Most young unmarried Filipinas do not get visas because they cannot overcome the assumption that they don't have strong ties tot he Philippines (family in US, no property, no bank accounts, etc.) and are likely to be illegal immigrants.

Your daughter should try for a visitor visa. However, don't be surprise if she is not granted one.

she has to apply for the tourist visa. she has to show strong ties to her country of origin and financially solvent, and of course she will be asked if she has family here and if there is a petition filed for her.

A Legal Permanent Resident can only petition for a spouse or unmarried children. Only US citizens can petition for parents and siblings. No one can petition for in-laws.

For Filipinos, it takes a USC about a year to petition for a parent and about 23-24 years for a sibling. A petition for a parent is an Immediate Relative case and the only person who can get a visa is the parent, meaning that minor children of the parent are not included in the petition even though they are listed as children in the petition.

ohhhhhh I have more than enough FED EX nightmares for everyone... but none of them involve international. Here's a couple.

It took a week for me to get my computer inside my house after it arrived in my town simply because they would just walk up to my house and leave that god damned sticker on my door and not even knock. I try to make an appointment to drive out to this place where it looks like serial killers would have no problem dumping their bodies off at in order to pick up my computer at the depot... I show up and it's not there. I get to the house and there's ANOTHER DAMN STICKER!!! repeat this every day for a week, including me taking time off work to sit outside my front door all day long for them to show up at about 8pm.

I ordered an item from Torrid.com for my birthday. A nice skirt and a pretty butterfly ring, both on clearance. The day the package is expected comes and goes and I realize 3 days later, 'hey, my package should have arrived by now!' check online and lo and behold 3 days ago it was delivered. I went outside to look in the bushes and around the house. nothing. I asked my family, nothing. I report it to FED EX. I get a sticker on my door 3 days later (4th of july) to call the driver who works in my neighborhood. He said he gave it to the man. then he said he didn't give it to anyone, but that the guy he was training that day gave it to the man. I tell him there are no men living in my house and I was home at that particular time (I was a caretaker for my now late grandmother.) I would have heard the door. We go back and forth about it and he describes my house but that an older man came out and got the package. When he describes the man I realize it's my gay neighbor next door and now he has my size 14 pencil/corset skirt and ring. Great. So the driver says he will go to my neighbor and ask for the package back. he goes and this man's 80 year old mother answers the door and denies all knowledge, talks #### about us and asks if he knows anything about the shoes she's been missing for months now. He calls me back telling me this and that he's going to file the claim as a lost/stolen item and that my items will either be reordered from the merchant or I will get a refund. (did I mention they were on clearance? yeah, skirt went out of stock during all this.) a week goes by and I get a letter from an official at FED EX who are now ACCUSING ME OF LYING! saying no that I received the package and that it's tough ####. I call, the customer service reps say I need to speak with that particular person and she's not there. She was never there. I contacted Torrid and they were horrified. They immediately sent out another ring and refunded me the price of the skirt, telling me they would deal with FED EX themselves and that this wasn't the first time this has happened. Too bad Torrid only uses FED EX unless you have an APO address

Screw FED EX, if Torrid didn't solely use them, I would never use them again.

Sorry to hear that, i thought that im the only one who are having a nightmare to FED EX...

I was more upset at FedEx because of all the billing errors. The taxes was annoying because they lady told me there would be no taxes, so it was a surprise and a hassle when the time came to pay the taxes.

I agreed, its upsetting because even them don't have any idea what are the taxes are , i hope that at least they can tell us what we are expecting payments when it goes to other countries. BUT what more upsetting is when you paid a huge amount of money and they can't assure you how safe is your package, i can tell you how more upsetting that you paid a huge amount for the package that you sent and it was just lost and stolen.

Yes, I believe that the huge amount of fee you pay using FEDEX is to ensure safe delivery of the goods to the recipient besides the speed of delivery.... But if I am not wrong, they require you to insure your goods if the commercial value is more than a certain amount..... not sure about that though.

Well i think i dont believe that the huge amount of fee in delivery made you safe in delivering package and even the name of big company can't ensure you how safe is your packages even small and large amount you are sending.

I much prefer FedEx to either USPS or UPS. Especially UPS, which has a terrible reputation and deservedly so. It's not uncommon for UPS carriers to claim they attempted delivery when they didn't or make bone-headed moves, such as leaving expensive packages outside on the front porch (or in front of someone's apartment door), where anyone could potentially grab them.

i hate that.. most of the time I will find a card in my mailbox saying that they attempted delivery when I know they haven't because I was home all day

or like you said they will just leave the package at my doorway.. we live in a pretty iffy neighborhood, so I don't appreciate that at all..

and they will blame others that the package was been stolen...

A few days later my fiance called and said they were asking her for money for tax and duty which was $45 american! Well I called FedEx and made an account and had it charged to that account. I linked the account to my credit card. A few months later they were asking me why I hadn't paid yet. I put my credit card info in again. Then another month goes by and says I still didn't pay. I put my info in again and I kept trying to see if it went through but was telling me to check back in a couple minutes (it took about 3 days) and finally it went through. So I had to pay an extra $45 for tax (which they said there wouldn't be) on top of the crazy shipping price. Not to mention that it took forever for them to charge it to my credit card which made it a delinquent on my credit score... If they would have told me there was tax at the get go none of this headache would have been caused.

Duties and taxes are not levied by FedEx or DHL or UPS or any other delivery service. They are levied by the country the goods are going to. Depending on how you state the contents of the package is generally how the taxes are levied. For instance, a category of "Ink covered canvas" might be taxed at 10% whereas "Lithographed custom art" is taxed at 300%. Just an example, but I've seen it done.

Just making sure that your bad experience was totally FedEx's fault....

And remember, YMMV...

We did asked about that taxes, but the person that we talked to didnt know about the international taxes, since FEDEX are regularly making business international on my own opinion the counter person must be train to international taxes, they cant give you a concrete answer about the taxes.

Recently, I went to the FEDEX counter to enquire about the shipping procedure from Malaysia to North Carolina, and of course the tax issue was brought up. The employee explained to me that they can't guarantee that my items will not be taxed as the taxation system varies from country to country and it is not FEDEX's policy to tax us or not. So he recommended that I should fill out the commercial invoice form as accurately and detailed as possible and be prepared for taxes especially when sending gifts or any new items, namely electronics etc.

I always use Fedex. I sent a package to my SO by USPS and it NEVER GOT THERE. Which translates to someone in the postal service in Nigeria went home with it.

One of the reasons I use fedex is that they have an "international saver" rate. Which means that if you are okay with it taking 9-10 days instead of 3-4, you save a few bucks. Knowing this, I use the saver rate and ship things early. I used Fedex all the time for business in the U.S. Never had a problem. I've only had one problem with Fedex International Shipping.

I went to Fedex on December 12 to ship my fiance his Christmas package. They told me delivery would be complete on December 21. He got it on December 31. That really sucked. But then, he used UPS and when his package had trouble in customs, he had to go buy me another present and re-ship it. So neither of us got our Christmas presents at Christmas. Ah, the joys of shipping to and from Africa.

However, I will continue to use Fedex because, IMO, DHL and UPS SUCK!!!!!!!!

what i think is shipping here in america has no question becuase of the law here and they are really careful, and the speed of the delivery also is not a question to me but the items that are lost and stolen. How can FEDEX work on international shipping to keep the item for being lost and stolen.

I have sent a box of my personal items via FEDEX, weighing about 20kgs, some new and some used items, from Florida to Malaysia. Cost me USD350 but arrived in perfect condition and within 3 - 4 days. No complaints.

Well thats good for you, maybe it is because the package goes to Malaysia, and theres no custom that are not having their shopping spree while inspecting the package and theres an employee of FEDEX that making sure that the package are not been ransacked.

Well i agreed that Fedex is very fast courier ,but will you sacrifice the contents to be safe and intact to the speed of time?

I never had any bad experience with FedEx. When i buy an item on line or send something important they aways seem to be on time.

How long have you been sending valuable items that cost more than $200? and in what country did you send it?

FedEx is the best - especially dealing with international packages. They are so much better at getting items through customs so much faster than UPS. I ship packages every day at work and we have over 60 international customers that we ship to. FedEx has the best track record for us and their customer service is outstanding. When I have a problem with a package ie. that it was sent to a wrong address or wrong level of service, FedEx can take care of the package.

Last week, I shipped something UPS (the customer's request) and when the customer wanted to change the level of service, all I heard was "unfortunately once the package has left, we cannot change it." THAT sucked. You won't have that problem with FedEx.

Our company has quit accepting packages from DHL and TNT. THEY are nightmares! Every time I hear DHL - I cringe.

We are not really sure that we can't hear a nightmare with FEDEX, maybe someone will come out and will say how nightmare they got, thats the reason why i want that someone to come out.

I sent Christmas presents to various family members in Canada last year. Fedex has sent each of them brokerage notices for $20 each.

I checked the box that said bill the shipper (me) any brokerage/taxes. I have yet to see ANYWHERE on their site a list of what the brokerage fees will/should cost. Phoning them twice has resulted in nothing but being transferred from one department to the next.

i really wonder if the expensive rates of FEDEX will be a reason to be a trustworthy, reliable and safe of any packages that you will send in any part of the world.

My husband and I are planning to send box of gift from here USA to Philippines and we are planning to send it thru FEDEX even that it cost too much as we know that its a reliable and safe in anywhere in the world but the purpose of my posting is a bad experience so we can look for an option, any bad comments is helpful for us to decide thank you so much in advance.

as per my understanding, before you go to CFO, you have to take the seminar as well pass the guidance and counselling seminar either PRISM or the St. Mary Eurofresia that was also have a branch in Cebu. After this seminar they will give you a certificate that you already done this seminar and they instruct to go to CFO for the sticker that will going to put to your passport. thats is after you receive your visa.

Finally sent my AOS package 11/02/07.

It was received in Chicago on 11/04/07.

I received the electronic return receipt in the e-mail on 11/05/07.

Now I'm biting my nails wondering what I did wrong.... because I'm sure there's "something"

We did sent our package in chicago 11/02/07 too i really wondered how could we checked if they received our package already. As i can see your timeline you did tracked it down that they received the package and thru electronic return receipt, i hoep you dont mind to let me know how could you do that, thank you in advance.

We sent the package with USPS as premium mail and certified with a return receipt and also added the feature of getting an electronic return receipt. After that all I had to do was to go to the USPS website and sign up with my e-mail address. I used the tracking number on the receipt to track the package on the USPS website and saw that it was delivered Nov. 4th. During night the USPS systems were updated and I received the electronic return receipt in my e-mail on Nov. 5th. The "real" return receipt didn't arrive in the mail until Nov. 9th.

Thanks for the quick reply, we didnt know about that premium mail, so we jsut send it to regular mail, so the only thing we could do now is to wait. You think theres another option how could we know that our package are already on thier hands? thanks again
