This is an often quoted suggestion on here. I filed last year and received notice to schedule my interview mid July, but the earliest available date was Sept 21. I kept checking (like 10 times per day) and found one for Sept 11. After  2-3 more days of checking I found one for August 15th.

And yes, most embassies only open up interviews one month at a time, typically 6-8 weeks before the start of the month.

Fingers crossed that happens for us too. I'm ready to go home, but neither of us want to be apart so I'm staying here in Amman with him until he's able to come with me. Every day counts when you're homesick. 😁

  2. It wasn’t yellowed out days on a calendar unfortunately, it was not showing a calendar at all and just saying no appointments are available at this time.

When I contacted them, they said appointments are opened up one month at a time and to keep checking back.

Early this morning they opened up the month of January and the first available day was January 6. I grabbed it. 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

Wish it had been December but I’m just happy to be scheduled.

I’ve heard that sometimes when more days open, people will reschedule theirs for various reasons and as a result, an earlier date will open up so I’m going to keep an eye out just in case that happens. 😁

  3. I'm in the same boat, except in the Amman, Jordan embassy. USCIS expedited my petition, and now I'm stuck trying to schedule the visa appointment but getting the "no appointments available" message on ustravedocs.com and wondering if my case will continue to be expedited at the consulate or if I have to make a new request with them, etc. If you get any information please share it here, and if I do, I will share too.

  4. We've received our packet 3 instructing us to do certain forms, gather certain documents, and go to ustraveldocs.com to schedule our appointment with the consulate here in Amman. The problem is, every day since we received that notice, we receive the message with the yellow background that says no appointment dates are available.

Anyone in Amman have any idea how often new dates are rolled out here? Or any way around this? Thanks!

  5. Good afternoon,

I filed my I-130 Petition at the USCIS field office in Amman, Jordan and we were able to get expedited processing. We had one RFE which we promptly responded to, and one interview where they separated us and chatted with each of us for a little over one hour (very pleasant interview process). We have now received notice that my Petition was approved, USCIS has completed all their work on the file and it's been transferred to the US Consulate, also officed there in the Amman Embassy. Further it said to contact them, and they'd give us the case number so we could complete the next steps.

The problem is, when I contact them I can't get anyone to understand we did DCF and so they all tell me to wait for the packet to come from the National Visa Center (but with DCF your file never goes there).

Can anybody who's done this in Amman please advise me, how long did it take to get your case number and what did you have to do in order to get it?

    Thanks so much!

    Tracey
