  1. Dear all, I have an immigrant visa (just got approved at the US Consulate in Japan) My husband (USC) and I will be arriving in the states (LAX) and have 1 and 1/2 hrs before our connecting flight to get through customs and board our next flight ..IS THIS ENOUGH TIME TO GO THROUGH CUSTOMS WITH MY IMMIGRATION PACKAGE/TO GET MY FINAL STAMP? (Our paperwork is very simple as well, I am Canadian and have no criminal record/ we both have no prior marriages/children)

    Appreciate any advice!

  2. I agree with meauxna, for us waiting for our already approved cases to be re-adjudicated it is very frustrating, my husband is a US Marine, and is stationed in Japan, however he will have a duty station change next month and now our well planned timeline is all f##$%&d up..nothing he can do either, he has to move when the military gives the orders. Lets hope the name checks go quickly, he obviously (as a Marine with security clearance) has no criminal record whatsoever!

  3. My husband (USC) and I are waiting for our final interview. Our I-130 was approved at the US Consulate in Okinawa, Japan in December 2006, in late January 2007 it was sent to be re-approved at the USCIS in Seoul Korea(due to the new law, they just have to check my husbands name) Has anyone in the Japan/Korea area been contacted about their final interview date? I heard rumors that they only had 2 people working on the cases at the USICS in Seoul Korea :(

  4. Effective immediately, U.S. Embassy Sofia is no longer able to accept or process any family-based immigrant petitions.

    ANYBODY ELSE AFFECTED?

hello all of you married coples waiting for God (in the name of USICIS) say you can finally live together :innocent:

We filed our I-130 in Bulgaria and after approval , they turned it back to us saying we have to start all over again -now through the USCIS office!Somebody have any information what happens next?

I am in the same situation as you, except my I-130 was approved in December 2006 at the US Consulate Naha, JAPAN, they have sent my approved I-130 to be re-approved/re-adjuicated by the USCIS...i was quoted a timeline of maybe 12-18 months...they really didnt know what the hell was goin on...im waiting for God as well...

  5. I have contacted my US Consualte General in Naha, Okinawa, Japan, and they said it was just a rumor that DCF was back...Im hoping and praying the US Consulates abroad will be able to process the applications again, as my I-130 was already approved by them in December 2006 but because of this new law, any approved I-130 between July 2006-Jan.23 2007 had to be sent to the USCIS to be reapproved...I of course had my medical on Jan.22nd and went online to book my final interview on the 23rd...had I known...had I known...I could have had an interview earllier..to avoid this frustration and heartache...my husband is a US Marine going stateside next month and I wasnt told much from my US Consulate here besides maybe I would have to wait in Japan for another 12-18 months...I am Canadian teaching English here (have been a resident here for the last 6 years) and my husband was stationed here with the US Marine Core so we both got married in Japan and proceeded with the DCF processing so that I could move with him to his next duty station...not goin to happen now....but im keeping my fingers crossed about them reversing this DCF law...surely my Federal RCMP fingerprint non-criminal police certificates & name based police certificates and same type of Japanese police certificates should prove I am not a sexual offender...Japan has been giving me a work visa for that last 6 years to teach children in the public education system here...its really not fair whats happening...so much for planning...any updates on the DCF with US Consulates abroad would be greatly appreciated.
