  1. Hi everyone,

very pleased to say that my interview on Monday at the London Embassy was approved, and I'm now waiting for my passport to be delivered. My case is still showing as Immigrant Administrative Processing which I guess is normal as it has been less than 48 hours since my interview.

My question is that does it have to be me who receives delivery for the package when it arrives? I have a trip with some friends planned from Thursday 8th - Sunday 11th next week. There will be someone else on the property (a relative) to receive the delivery when it arrives. Or if I'm not there and only I can sign for it, where will the passport go? I really want to go on this trip but receiving my passport is the priority to be honest.

Also you must include an IRS tax transcript or a letter explaining why he was not required to file.

    Hi Thomas,

Are you sure? On the London Embassy website it says that there is no set form in which proof of support must take place. It suggests filling out the I-134, which I have done, and I'm hoping that this along with pay stubs, bank statements, and a letter from his employer will suffice.

Feeling a little frustrated and anxious about this, it seems like you do have to be a little bit of a detective to find out exactly what is required and there's so much conflicting information floating around :(

Generally if you are going off income alone, pay stubs, ( i recommend 3 months worth) and a letter from the employer stating all relevant job information and pay info, should suffice... A lot of people do supply W2's to back it up if they have them.

Using banking information is generally only needed if using savings to offset the missing income. If current income is good enough, this isn't really needed.

As for stating about a joint account, that's irrelevant. It doesn't matter if you do or don't honestly. A lot of people keep their accounts seperate. My husband and I only have a joint savings, our checking accounts are separated.

Thanks for the advice, I'm going to ask my fiance to obtain the letter from his employer and also get a few more pay stubs to back it up. Better safe than sorry.

  4. Hi everyone, my interview is coming up at the London embassy and I have a question about the affidavit of support. We have completed the form and added a section where my fiance has stated that upon marriage his bank account will be changed to a joint account in both our names. The evidence we have submitted is two pay stubs from his current job and a printed overview of his bank account and savings accounts.

We do not have a W-2 as last year we were both living and working in a third country that doesn't issue W-2s. Is this going to be enough evidence? The bank account is extremely healthy and my fiance has a very well paying job. We definitely more than meet the requirements, I'm just worried about the lack of W-2. My interview is next week so I don't think we have time to get a letter from his employer.

  5. Hi guys,

My interview is coming up in the next few weeks in London, and I have just received my police report of no criminal record from China (where I lived for a few years.) Unfortunately, my first name is spelled incorrectly! It's not a major mispelling (think Jasson instead of Jason), and the surname, date of birth etc are correct. Will this be an issue? I don't have time to correct it before the interview unfortunately. It took months to obtain in the first place.

Also I lived in China on a previous passport, the police report lists the old passport number, not the new one. I do have the old passport with me, as long as I present both at the embassy it should be fine right? I was in China for a while on the new passport but that was on a tourist visa, which the Chinese gov does not issue a police report for. The police report is dated for my period of residence on a resident visa only.

One more question - my fiance has moved since I filled in the DS160, so my intended address in the US has changed. It's still the same city, same state etc. Do I need to re-do the DS160 or can I just update my intended address with the embassy, or no need to mention it at all?

    Thanks in advance!
