Hello everyone !
So... My petition was approved by the USCIS last week without any RFE, which surprised me considering that I applied through premium processing (my attorney told me that they tended to be more picky when applying with this option).
Seemed too good to be true but... Yay anyway !
However I had my « interview » today at the Paris embassy, which was the strangest and shortest one I had to date...
« - Bonjour sir, can I have your I-197, DS—160 and passport please ?
- Hello, sure, there you go.
- What is your occupation ?
- I’m a retoucher.
- Great, is this your first O1 application ?
- Yes.
- (30 seconds goes by, the officer is reading my case).
- All right, we still are waiting for some elements from the USCIS, we should have everything by Thursday.
- Oh ok, do I need to come back for another interview on Thursday ?
- No, you’re all set man. Have a good
one. »
I have to say that I’m a little lost for so many reasons.
Was that the interview ? I mean, the absence of any serious question made me ask him seriously if I had to come back for a real interview !
Is it a good sign that they kept my passport without asking any serious question ?
And finally, did this American Embassy Officer really greet me with a « You’re all set man, have a good one» ?
(Gotta love the relaxed tone).
This really was different from what I imagined... Well anyways, I just checked the CEAC status, and it now shows the legendary « Administrative Processing ».
If anyone experienced this kind of bizarre interview before, your story is most welcome !
Best,
Kevin

Hi, I’m Kevin from Paris !
I did apply for an O1 A visa (I am a Digital tech and retoucher), and my petition was approved by the USCIS just last week !
I just had my interview at the embassy today, and I can’t wait to have the answer
Anyways, If I can be of any help here, it would be my pleasure !

No questions asked at the interview... Should I be worried ?

Hi randomstairs, thank you for your reply. I was a little bit worried because I was expecting something far more complicated than this...
...Anyways, I just checked, and the Ceac visa status is now on "Issued" ! I guess this is good sign and I should receive my passport soon if I understand this right ?
