X-rays are not needed at POE. They have no way to review them there, and generally the disk or envelope containing them says its for personal use.

Quite strange maybe it's just based on which country you've come from. The practitioner who did my medical visa kept reminding me to make sure I have it with me hand carried at POE and reminded me over and over to not put it in check in 😕 Kinda sucks because mines in a big ### envelope Y.Y

I think that's it. The visa (which is gonna be the package) and the xrays and I would say any additional things that you receive from the embassy, the medical appointment or anything visa related. I know for me that I will take my whole folder that I've made with all the documents for the k1 in case they need to know or see anything.

When you say documents for the K1 do you mean like my original birth certificate, police certificate, chat logs, photos etc...(ones that weren't sealed in the packet from the consulate?) Thank you x

Did you receive a 221(g) for these missing documents and therefor you are returning what they are asking?

Yes I did :) So I'm assuming I put 221g inside the bracket. How about the IV part?

Also I was wondering if you knew whether for the Federal Police Certificate that fingerprints were required? I read in other places that code 33 complete disclosure was sufficient but wanted to be sure.

  4. I need to mail off my original birth certificate and a federal police report to the consulate in Sydney. I’ve done my interview already and those two were the ones missing. I’m just a bit confused about the consulates address:

    U.S. Consulate General

    Attention: IV (g) “SURNAME” [??]

    Level 10, MLC Centre

    19-29 Martin Place

    Sydney, NSW 2000

Where I placed [??] is the part that confuses me. I understand my surname goes there but what’s the other parts?

    Thank you in advance!

Travel docs has nothing to do with that. You need to give out more information before we can give you advice. What part of the process are you on? Does your embassy have your case? Is it still at NVC? Is there something pending and that’s why they haven’t done your interview yet? After a petition is approved with a K1 it’s usually transferred to NVC for a case nemuber then sent down to the embassy. All that takes about a month. Not really long enough to be over the expiration date for your petition so something must have gotten held up. A K1 petition is usually valid for at least 4 months or so. You need to figure out where your case is and ask why it’s being held up. If it’s still at USCIS they’ll just renew your petition automatically but if it’s not then you need to find out what happened.

Just letting others know in case they read you reply and are misled. Traveldocs has everything to do with extending a petition if your case is in the hands of your embassy. The Sydney US General Consulate only communicates through their traveldocs email "support-australia@ustraveldocs.com".

Great. I would like to hear the outcome. I have never come across this before that a case has gotten this far to where it has expired. I normally can cut it off before it expires by reminding people of the regulations. So I am curious. Have a good weekend.

I had to get my fiance to email a handwritten letter stating that he still can and intends to marry me within 90 days of my arrival. Next I had to give information like my case number, DS-160 number etc which I did but I chose the wrong city for my DS-160 and just had to redo and email them the new number. I got an email from them saying that they had successfully updated my DS-160 number and that I can print out my appointment letter that they've emailed to me. I'm just waiting on the appointment letter which still hasn't arrived in my inbox but It has only been forty minutes. I'll keep you updated! I'm assuming that they're still organising the letter to be emailed to me.

I tried calling the US general consulate in Sydney but their immigration unit doesn’t take phone enquiries and I have to contact them via email through traveldocs. Just thought I’d update you :) I’m quite anxious at the moment but I did email them them on Friday, I really hope they don’t send back my paperwork before they read my email. I did pay for my MRV fee the morning of the day my petition expired (so it would’ve still been valid in the states due to time difference) but upon checking my bank, the fund is still pending.

Here is the regulation that spells this out in the event you need it for proof.

    9 FAM 41.81 N6.2 Validity of a K-1 Petition

    (CT:VISA-2165; 08-21-2014)

An approved K-1 visa petition is valid for a period of four months from the date of USCIS action and may be revalidated by the consular officer any number of times for additional periods of four months from the date of revalidation, provided the officer concludes that the petitioner and the beneficiary remain legally free to marry and continue to intend to marry each other within 90 days after the beneficiary's admission into the United States.

Thank you! My concern is that my petition expired today so I have to hopefully contact them Monday in hopes they haven’t sent back my paperwork to the USCIS. I’m crossing every finger and toe right now :((( at least the consulate has the ability to increase my validity by another four months if it’s still in their hands.

Contact the Embassy and explain the situation. Your NOA2 expiration date is 1 year from approval. The Embassy is the one that grants an extension and will do so at 4 months at a time. Let's see what they say on Monday. You'll probably get the extension and complete the process.

Thank you for the positivity! I really needed it. Was feeling awful. So just to confirm,  NOA2 has a validity period of one year despite the form having a four month validity? Thank you again for your response!! I will definitely be contacting them the second they open Monday :)

  10. I'm not even sure how to pay for the visa fee. When I was researching I read that you can pay for the visa fee on the day of the interview at the consulate. I have completed my medical visa and have the sealed document from them as well. Will the medical completion itself be enough validation that I had no intention to abandon? I will call up the NVC though and see what is happening.

  11. I only just realised yesterday night that there was an expiry on the petition being the 6th of October. I emailed traveldocs which was listed as a contact under the Sydney US Consulate. I asked for an extension but since it is now the weekend I won’t get a reply and by the time they read my email, the petition would be expired. I haven’t organised my interview yet and I’m very worried. I was planning to do so this month.

    Any experience/advice?
