Hi all,
I had my citizenship ceremony last week.
I have an appointment to apply for an expedited passport based on travel (early January) next week. If the government shuts down on Friday, will the passport offices be closed for those of us with booked travel as well?
What else closes? I need to do my social security update as well before my trip.
Thanks.

They had two naturalization ceremonies in San Antonio yesterday - one at 10am and one at 2pm. I was in the afternoon one (531 people!) and apparently, it almost didn’t happen. The judge was sick and thought about postponing it. So thankful he came in for it. Hope you all get your letters soon!

It says, “this is to advise you that, due to unforeseen circumstances, we have had to cancel the previously scheduled oath ceremony on Thursday December 13, 2018 at 8:02 AM for the above applicant. We regret any invonvenience this may cause.” But I don’t know if it was just cancelled for me or for everyone. Is yours in San Antonio?
Yeah but it’s at a different time.

Hello, I was also scheduled for Dec. 13th but I received another letter a few days ago saying that it was cancelled. Was yours too or was it just me?
Just checked online and the last update was the oath ceremony scheduled update. What did it say exactly?

Have you received oath ceremony notice? I had my interview approved at San Antonio on Sep 27th. It's been more than 8 weeks now and I haven't received any oath ceremony notice.
I did. I didn’t get the email notification but I signed in a week ago and the date had been scheduled for Dec 13. The letter came in the mail on Wednesday. Log in if you haven’t checked lately! Hope yours comes soon.

I applied for my citizenship based on marriage/ 3 year rule in November 2017. I had my interview Sept 19 in San Antonio. The IO approved me there and said I would hear back within 4-6 weeks for my oath ceremony. I haven't heard anything yet, and it has been 6.5 weeks. I am going to have a name change done so I know I need to have a judicial oath ceremony.
How long do you wait until you take some sort of action? Do I book an infopass appointment? Do you have to go in person or are there options for phone calls? Do I just wait it out?
I don't know when the oath ceremonies are scheduled in SA.
Any insight would be appreciated.

I’m waiting on a judicial oath ceremony. They said i would get a letter from them 4-6 weeks after the interview (I was approved) and it’s been just over 6 weeks.

Did your interview letter mentioned that the process would take about 2 hrs?
Yes - I was actually there for 3 hours. They apparently made the appointment times shorter so they were running late. My interview was about 45 minutes.

I submitted it in November. 3 year based on marriage.

Nice!
i had my interview 2 weeks ago; I was approved but the interviewer said it would be 4-6 weeks before I heard about the oath ceremony.
Anyone else waiting to be scheduled for the oath ceremony?
Passport office affected by shutdown?

I need to update my social security status because I changed my name and they said that I needed an ID with my old name on it (valid ID being state ID or US passport) and my only US ID with my old name is my driver's license. So update social security status + name change, then update driver's license. DL has to be updated within 30 days.
