My fiancee will finally get his interview set up and I'm going to go with him and will be buying my plane ticket soon. I know that you shouldn't buy the ticket to America until you have the visa but I'd really like to come back together. For those who have gone did you purchase a round trip ticket or did you have any issues with a 1 way ticket? I'll be flying in a few days before the appointment and will be there for a month. Any advice?

I got the email from NVC that was case was being sent to the Embassy on Oct 3rd but it said "in transit" the day prior. I'm hoping it will reach the embassy soon, I don't know if we should get the DS160 going and schedule the medical exam or wait for it to arrive to the embassy first.
