Why are you looking to get another copy?

You shouldn't need a copy of the I-797 for the I-129F unless you want it for your own records. When she goes to AOS she can provide a copy of her visa in her passport with the I-94.

It says in the evidence needed for AOS, they need a copy of the I 797, and even in the I 797 approval I got, it says to send this in for AOS.

  2. So in the middle of moving, I lost my fiance's  I-797 approval notice, I was going to do a I-824 to get a new one, I was wondering if anyone experienced doing this, I just want to know how long it takes, the website says 8 months to 12 but I've read it takes like 2 to 3 months. Time is getting closer to get my fiance here, I want to know if I have to delay her travel or if it's a quick process to get a duplicate I-797?

  3. So quick question, after my fiance gets here to the states and we get married. We obviously file for adjustment of status. Problem is, how long does that take because I'm in the army, so obviously being a single soldier I don't have a house so I'm using my parents address. I live in texas though and they live in Illinois. So I was going to take 30 days of leave to take care of everything but I heard the I-485 can take a while and the fiance visa is good for 90 days....once we are married can I get everything done within the 30 days I'm on leave and is she able to stay past the 90 days after getting married and submitting paperwork?

  4. So I already know if I move I need to update my mailing address, but my fiance recently moved and got a new job. I went to the USCIS website and looked up change of address and the form I'm suppose to fill out is meant for my mailing address, do I need to update them on her address and job change at all?

Frontloading is kind of at your discretion I suppose! my husband is from a high fraud country, Nigeria, so with our petition we included a few chats from a few months each, not hundreds of pages but just to show we had constant contact through the years, so its up to you and whether or not your interview will be very difficult.... good luck ^_^

I didnt..we have been together for two years but fb wouldnt let me go back that far, so best I did was 6 months but I got pictures and post she tagged me like pics from when we webcam that go back to the first time we started dating...you think that's enough.

A couple of respondents went through Manila, typically one of the easiest consulates.

They're not wrong in regard to front-loading the petition package from their frame of reference.

However, as ronniebreda says just above, it depends on the consulate.

Do not (do NOT!!!) take the consular phase lightly!

Many of us brought evidence to the visa interview and it was ignored, dismissed, or refused.

If USCIS has seen the extra material (as part of the petition submission), the COs cannot ignore its existence.

Ptoth42, what country is your fiancee in?

Philippines, I'm just scared to lose out on money...I know I put in extra stuff like a copy of her passport, legal papers she has no criminal record, stuff like that...I think I'm over thinking this. I also got lots of pics with dates from fb from when we were together, I got printed pictures of her her and I with her family and I'm going to send in 30 messages each going back a few months...I was having trouble going way back, so I hope this is all enough.

This is what pulls together a petition and, along with the other evidence, makes it front-loaded. This is what we preferred. If a couple is completely red flag free and there nothing an eye can stumble upon in their file, they possibly may go without it just at filing stage. It is absolutely necessary at the interview stage though.

I got slow internet, what if I put a few conversations going back a few months and screenshot post on fb of pictures that have dates on then from when I visited her. Would they be enough proof

  8. Hi everyone that reads this...I'm on my last part before I mail in my K1 application. My fiance and I mostly use fb for communication and obviously I need to print out messages for proof. Problem is we have been dating for 2 years so that's alot. I've tried down loading my messages from fb but their are so many messages. How did all of you do this part.  Its takes like an hour just to find the first message I've sent to her.

Each of you needs to write and sign a letter stating that you are legally free and willing to marry within the 90 days of entrance into the USA. You could also attach an engagement ring receipt but the Letters of Intent to marry are vital. You will likely get an RFE without them

I got copies of legal papers saying we are both single...does she need to write something out and sign it and email to me?

  10. I got a few questions with the K1 visa application, probably really dumb but i want to make sure this is right. Ill post more questions on this thread if any more come up, my first question is im in the military, what can i put as employers address, also when they ask for places to lived, im on my second duty station, do places where i trained at count as living example would.be should i list basic training and my tech school locations. Next question is if addresses are to big for the box. How am i going to list the whole address, do i leave it blank and go to the section that has more room or half of yhe address and the other half in the more room section?Thank you so much for reading
