  1. thx for all your efforts bro .I noticed a lot of folks are questioning as to when can you tell if something was shipped ,how can you tell if it contains their docs etc .Heres my time-line

    1) DHL package shipped to country of petition -3/12/08

    2) DHL delivered package on - 03/16/08

    3) Date printed on NVC's letter notifying us of the interview data - 03/21/08

    4) Date the automated phone line said "case complete" - 03/21/08

    5) Date the automated line phone said the "case was forwarded to embassy" - 03/25/08

Seems like NVC fwds the hard copies first to the embassy and not communicate electronically between themselves regarding the scheduling of interviews.

  2. Hello All,

Interview scheduled for May 11th .

Case was completed on Feb 25th . Since it was completed late in Feb , no interviews was scheduled in Feb for March .

March came around and I called on 20th to be told NO interview was scheduled for april or whenever. When pushed - the operator said the "embassy's quota was fulfilled" and to call back in 3rd week of April .

Called a week later 3/27/08 and the system said "case was forwarded to embassy" ...after speaking to a operator was told they schedule it for May 11th .

I would not have bothered calling NVC if I hadnt seen this thread in VJ about NVC telling ppl to call in April when they actually have scheduled something. SO A HUGE THANKS to all you good folks on VJ :-) .

  3. Hello,

As a fyi for all those who's case got recently completed (Feb 08) and are now awaiting scheduling of interviews, I managed to get thru to a NVC agent and was told that they start scheduling interviews every 2nd week of the month for the following month . So the cases completed in mid-late Feb can expect to hear by the 3rd week of march as to when (if at all) is their interview. The rep mentioned that each foreign consulates provides the NVC with their available capacity.

Hope this helps with some of that anxiety ;-) !

    all the best !

  4. Shamim ,MGK- when you guys sent in the pics - how did you guys generate the bar code sheet ? jaimes shortcut ? or did u happen to have a extra sheet from a prior RFE ?

I happen to have an extra bar code sheet from a previous ref - but the nvc rep mentioned that besides the case # - stuff related to the request like what doc is been requested, date etc is also encoded & hence recommended sending in the proper barcoded sheet for this particular RFE .

what do you guys think ?

  5. I had to send in the originals of some docs required as part of DS-230 .The packet was received at NVC 1/15/08 , reviewed 1/30/08 .However today (1/31/08 ) the automated system said it STILL found info missing. So I call and speak to a rep - who tells me that all the docs were in order BUT unfortunately there was a change in rule ON THE 29th - which now also requires 2 passport size pictures !! GO FREAKIN FIGURE !!!

Anyone else aware of this ? Since the rep said that the change went into effect only as of the 29th - i figure not many peoples might be aware of this .

Not sure it also depends on the beneficiarys country or anything of that sort.

    Hope this helps some1 else

  6. Not an answer to your question but related to the AOS. Have you considered filling out the 1-864 EZ ?

Below is from the "who may use the I-864 EZ form" part as it appears on a I-864 EZ. Your answer has to be "yes" to all three points below.

    1. You are the person who filed or is filing the Form I-130,Petition for Alien Relative, for a relative being sponsored;

    2.The relative you are sponsoring is the only person listed onthe Form I-130 petition;

3.The income you are using to qualify is based entirely on your salary or pension and is shown on one or more Forms W-2 provided by your employer(s) or former employer(s).

    http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/I-864EZ.pdf

  7. one of the 3 criteria to be able to file a I-864 EZ is that the income you are using to qualify is based entirely on your (petiotioners) salary or pension and is shown on one or more FormsW-2 provided by your employer(s) or former employer(s).

I changed jobs this year and hence a different employer that the one on my 2006 W-2 . So while I'm still using my own income , would the fact that my current employer is different from the 2006 tax return disqualify me from using the I-864EZ???

I do have a letter from new job stating the dateof hire, salary etc..Any input gyus !! Thanks

  8. I followed the directions to generate a barcode for the DS-3032 Choice of Agent form, but the finished product looks waaay to small when printed.

Can someone tell me exactly what size adjustments need to be made, and how to make them?

    thanks

hey ! unless you've already sent out the Agent of Choice via regular mail....the beneficiary can email NVC from their email id at NVCInquiry@state.gov and nominate the US citizen as the agent. In the subject specify "Agent of choice" and the Case number. In the body of the email -- state that the beneficiary (include name , D.O.B, address )would like to nominate the petitioner ( specify their name, D.O. B , address, contact info ) as the agent and that all future correspondence be sent to the agent in the USA.

Thats how we did ours and my wife got an acknowledgement email in about a weeks time.

  9. I'm sure the country of the beneficiary influences how long the process takes ! Out of all the early Feb filers approved at CSC - only ones remaining is Dilly & myself with Egypt & Qatar ( even tho my wife is a Indian national ).None of the approved ones where from that region .I guess they go a step further at the CS's for certain countries......just speculating

  10. Not to rain on anyone parade, but this notice is for NOA1s and your Receipt. Any experienced VJers correct me if I'm wrong, but it says nothing about NOA2s in this notice. Now it might be a good sign in the Centers getting their act together, but I don't want people's hopes to get to high from this notice. And if I wrong, well good for everyone who's still waiting. :innocent:

dang ! ur right SinghA ! but like u said - atleast they are on the ball at CSC.

  11. what do they mean when they say "compliant by June 15th" ?

doesn't it mean that they will just update the cases status accordingly online ?

I don't see anything about approval notices... unsure.gif

Based on what the bulletin mentioned about CSC-VSC getting swamped with H1B processing and having to put everything else on the burner - my understanding is that the service centers are striving to approve ( be compliant) by June 15th all those petitions that would have gottens NOA2s had they not been delayed due to the H1B processing .

  12. After the initial excitement of getting transfered from the blackhole a.k.a VSC to CSC and a couple of touches in May - that sinking feeling is setting in again !!! This def sucks and I hope June doesnt go by without the darn NOA2 .

Based on another forum thread out there - I know a bunch of ppl with NOA1 dates after me got approved . Anybody else out there who got x-fered from VSC to CSC and waiting on a approval ?????????

I'm done with work for today ....I'm heading out .........oh wait...its Friday and I-95 is a going to be a nightmare . I'm not liking anything that begins with a "I" all that much. I-130's ..I-95 ...bump the darn "I" !!

  13. your 5/23 touch may have been something.... have you tried the trick and called?

if not, give it a shot.

I actually did and got the standard issue reply. Told him that I was a bit concerned with all the recent updates on my online profile & if he could confirm that no RFE was sent which I might not have received yet. The officer confirmed no RFE sent - & didnt go beyond whats already on the USCIS website . Saif they are processing stuff from Nov .
