  1. Shouldn't my case be complete by now? :crying:

Edit: Yes i am sulking, the impatience has taken over... again. sick of bl**dy waiting!

Oh my goodness, you have been waiting SO long. What the heck is NVC doing? I will definitely say a prayer for you for your case to be complete SOON! That is just ridiculous! I am so sorry. :(

I really have NO reason to be impatient at all since my case is completed. But impatience has taken over me once again just like you. It's not that I am NOT grateful and thankful to God that the case is FINALLY complete, it's just that it is back to more waiting, waiting, waiting again and it's just like enough is ENOUGH already! :(

Rina, I called DOS and they were no help lol. I'm not really all that surprised though. The guy was nice but told me that they can't "predetermine anything". Kind of disappointing news, but at least he said "good luck" at the end. NVC had NEVER said that! :)

  2. I was thinking of calling DOS, but what help could they be? They probably don't know anything either.

DOS looks at the same screen as NVC. The only difference between NVC and DOS is that DOS Reps are kinder than NVC folks. Also, DOS handles NVC.

Ah I see, so it would be like I was calling NVC just with kinder people lol! Is this the right number for them? 202-663-1225? I think I'll call them just for the heck of it. The worst thing they could say is "call NVC" but the BEST part of it would be that they will be much nicer than the reps @ NVC!

    :)

  3. My wife and I are in the same boat. My wife’s case was completed on 10/12/2007, and I see no movement. I call NVC almost every day. They just tell me to wait, wait, and wait. I am so impatient! I hope this nightmare is finish soon because I am getting so stressed. God Bless you and good luck!

Thank you very much for your reply Dermeco. Gosh, THAT is a long time that you've been waiting! I hope it gets moving SOON for you both! How stressful! I was under the impression that NVC would know the interview date a few days after case is complete. I was really wrong on THAT one! They told me to call 'em back on November 15th or after! That's TOO long to wait to find something out! Just ridiculous!

I thought that people on here find out when their interview is pretty quickly after they hear that "Case Complete". I was thinking of calling DOS, but what help could they be? They probably don't know anything either.

  4. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Now here comes the "impatient Megan" again rofl: About how long did it take for you guys to find out the interview date? I called twice and got similar answers. To call NVC back in 3 weeks and b/c of the way NVC does the interview process thing, my husband won't have a November interview and will be lucky to get a December one!

I know that everything happens for a reason but I'm praying that his interview won't be NEXT YEAR!!!

Any answers anyone on how long it takes (or took) to find out the interview date from the date of your case being complete?

    Thanks! :)

    Hey Meg,

Congrats on your case complete!! Hope you get a zippy interview date

    Thanks Trailmix!

  5. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

  6. How wonderful Rina! A November interview! Woohoo! Good luck and I can't wait to share my "Case Complete" happiness lol! Still though I am very happy for you and everyone else that got their case completed! Here's to many more "Case Completes"!

Thanks mikeandlani  I miss them both so much.

Congrats Rina! now to concentrate on the medicals and interview. Goodluck to your husband and baby!

I will do the same thing for you. Good luck! Keep us updated

    Thanks Rina,

Yes, There aren't too many members from Morocco

I am keeping my finger crossed!!!

  7. Yes, I know they know. They just don't SAY it lol. So does that mean I can "deduct" the 5 days from the 2-4 weeks that they always claim lol? That'd be nice :)

WOOHOO! ABOUT TIME! My case hasn't been completed YET but I know it will be soon. They just "received" the checklist letter response. Now mind you, I sent that overnight on the 4th and it said someone signed for it in the Visa department on the 5th, so it took FIVE days for 'em to put it in the system??!! Crazy!

Five days to post to the case, yeah, but they know they received it on the 5th too.

Just think of it as an extra 5 days it takes for them to review.

Hello Rina, Aurea, Ness&Keith, Jayzar and all my fellow VJ'rs!!

Since Rina started this forum to most of us of the same case status, I just wanted to THANK YOU ALL as of yesterday after talking to NVC (live) and also confirmed it with their recording this evening, my wife's case has just been COMPLETED!!! PRAISE THE LORD and EVERYONE who kept us in their prayers, encouraging us and teaching us the proper way in completing the forms, etc. This forum has been awesome and really been informative and very helpful for the most part. On behalf of my wife and I, we would like once again to Thank You EVERYONE as each of you has been so helpful! Rina and other's, we shall continue to pray for you guys' case to be completed as well. I know that my wife's journey is still not over but I thank the Lord for His grace and will to where we are now at this point.

Again, thank you EVERYONE and I hope to see more completed cases before this month is up!!

May God continue to Bless us all!

    D&A

  9. Hehe when I saw what Medieval wrote it made my day as well, so I just HAD to write that!

Reading this made my day

Do you guys pull your hair up when you call expecting to talk to an operator when a women talking Spanish and saying "Los mentos los peras...and some other c*** #@*%!#...or is it just me????

I do make sure I press 1 for English when I make the call, do I really have to hear this ####### which adds to my frustration big time? :halloween::jest:

 Hahaha it's actually something like "Lo sentimos mucho por su espera" something along the lines of "We are sorry for your wait". I am the same way though, even though my hubby's language is Spanish. I get ticked off whenever I hear here speak Spanish because I KNOW that I will have to re-dial the number again until I hear that annoying voice of the man "We apologize for the delay....You can expect to wait approximately 3 minutes to speak with an operator"

lol jeepers I have the whole thing almost memorized haha!

  11. Oh my goodness Rina! What a run around! I am praying and keeping my fingers tightly crossed for you! I sent you a PM too. Hope this gets resolved SOON! This is completely and utterly ridiculous!

@ Vylex- Alex, thanks pal for your help! I know you were there for me when I was getting my DS230 compiled and sent. I did everything I could to ensure it will not lead to this. <_< what a tragic experience really!

@ Chris- I have made a plan already how to resolve this with them:

    Plan A:

will send them the exact copy of my original packet; to be sent via Express Mail tomorrow morning

Got RFE checklist coversheet generated and printed out (done!)

Express Mail envelopes with label and return receipt ready and filled out

Plan B: (if plan A does not work)

Got the passport translated, although its already translated

    Got new police certificates

Will use NVC's RFE checklist coversheet

Express Mail envelope with label and return receipt ready and filled out

    Same basic rules for me:

the email I sent them when they asked me to resend my DS230 electronically will be included in the packet

made exact copy of the file I will be sending them

list of persons' names~ Supervisors and regular Reps with time and date have been noted on my Follow Up sheet with NVC.

A love letter signed by me (of course!)

  12. Hi Rina,

Just saw this, sorry to hear you are getting the run around !

I find this incredibly confusing, how careless do you have to be to lose someone's important documents??

Anyway I'm sorry to hear this, keep us updated.

Just saw this too, I am SO sorry Rina! Yes, keep us posted and I will be praying for a Case Complete for you soon! :)

  13. Oh Rina, I am SO sorry! I don't believe that your stuff was missing! I bet you ANYTHING that NVC lost it and are saying that it is "missing". I can't believe HOW LONG it takes them to tell us though that the file is incomplete and what not! Completely ridiculous, isn't it? My heart goes out to you Rina and we WILL get through this!

I am very depressed over this whole thing with my RFE, I can imagine how you must be feeling right now. It is not right NVC doesn't take better care of our things. How would THEY feel if we lost there, say....paychecks? lol in all seriousness though, I bet they wouldn't like it ONE BIT.

I really feel like writing a letter to the President (not that it probably wouldn't help) telling him that the immigration process is VERY disorganized and seeing how many people have been told that there stuff is "missing" when they SWEAR they have sent it to NVC...now THAT is a problem that MUST be dealt with. I don't care if NVC has THOUSANDS upon thousands of people who are filing! They need to have a better organizational system! And like someone here who already posted above said: When you send those papers to NVC, how can they lose any of them? They open that envelope and everything is attached!

Can you feel the passion I have for this subject? SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE.

    Keep us posted Rina,

    *hugs*

  14. I am pretty sure that whatever he (hubby) has on that police report will not be a reason for denial since it seems that he did not really harm anyone. They will surely ask him during the interview and would ask him to explain that particular note on his file.

    Good luck Megan! :)

Thanks Rina! No, he didn't harm anyone he just does NOT have that in him. I don't think that it is really that bad. He was just out late AFTER the curfew and so it could be MUCH worse!

Thanks for the luck Rina! I wish you good luck too! :)

  15. Hi there,

I did get through and although the IVR hadn't been updated to say they received my documents they actually received them today according to the operator, so that's good - still have to send them some additional info overnight - but that's ok too!

Don't let it get you down, they haven't had it incredibly long - I mean it's not wayyyy overdue so hang in there!! Let me know what you find out when you call :)

Hey thats great! I will keep you posted with mine...

    ~ Rina

Hi Rina! I hope you hear SOMETHING soon! Like they say "No news is good news", so hopefully that is what that is! :) Fingers still crossed for you! :)

  16. Okay, I hope it is okay if I post this here I'm just concerned about what my husband just read to me on his police certificate from Honduras.

It says that he was arrested for a public scandal and something in the words of "harming citizenship". He remembers getting arrested and said that it had to do with being out late in the street after the curfew. He was detained for 24 hours and then was let go.

I'm not too crazy about the words "harming citizenship". Maybe he didn't translate it very good, I'm not sure. I just hope this does not affect this process.

What exactly is a public scandal anyways? Is it something bad? Or is it a minor thing? It happened over 5 years ago so maybe the embassy won't look at it any further.

Any help or advice is appreciated! Thanks! :)

The consular officers are primarily looking for a "crime involving moral torpitude." This is according to U.S. moral standards too, of course. I imagine the incident will be discussed at some length during the interview, but ultimately it may not be sufficient cause for a denial.

Thank you for your response Chris Parker. My husband and I talked it over some more and we really are not that worried about it especially since it was just past his curfew. I am sure though it will be discussed at the interview as well. :)

    Thanks again!
