Depends.  Can be a week or can be a few months.  Did you go back and get thr uncertified privacy act or did you need the certified one?

Thanks for your response, I’ve been told I need a certified one, but lots of folks say they had a non-certified, regardless I requested a certified privacy act from the RCMP closest to me a few weeks ago and it hasn’t come in time, as I’m now in Montreal.   I was the first Us immigration person to go through my local rural and city rcmp, and they didn’t know what to do even with the printed paper from the us govt website.  That’s why I didn’t get the right one months ago when I requested it from them, because they had no idea what it required. 😕

There’s nothing I can do at this point, except attend my interview and pray they let me send it in after, and it doesn’t take an extra long time.  😞

You don't need the certified one, you need the not certified privacy act.  Go to the commissionaires

without it you'll get a 221g and a huge delay.  Montreal is horrible if you send documents after the fact.

My interview is in two days, I have to leave for Montreal at 5am tomorrow, and I'm definitely not getting my CRC in time, as it's been two weeks and I've heard nothing back.

do you know what the delays to Montreal are like regarding the 221g?

  3. Hello,

Today while I was going through my paperwork for my interview in two weeks to make sure I had all I needed, I noticed that the “Certified Criminal Record Check” I had requested from the RCMP is actually a Name-Based Criminal Record Check, and not an actual Certified Criminal Record Check.

I cannot find any info online on which CRC is required, but I assume they’ll want the Certified one.  I emailed my inquiry the consulate in Montreal, but have not received a response.

I have an appointment tomorrow to be fingerprinted and begin the certified criminal record check, but I was told it could take 2-6 weeks to process, which would not arrive in time for my interview date.

    I have no criminal record.

Which version of a CRC is required at Montreal’s consulate for a Canadian immigrating to the US?

  4. Oh goodness, that font size, I'm so sorry.  I was on my iPhone and didn't realize it had done that. 😬

Thank you all very, very much for your help!

At this point we're feeling a little less worried.  She's been working there for YEARS, so she's still a little miffed at their attitude towards the whole ordeal.

For reference, the only reason we were looking into this was from this list we're looking at: "What to send to your fiance once the I-129F is approved (Receive NOA2):"

    Specifically this section:

    Quote

    5. [...]

    (B) Statement(s) from your employer on business stationary showing: 1. Date and nature of employment; 2. salary paid; 3. whether position is temporary or permanent (also include copies of your last two pay stubs and your previous W-2 for the associated employer if available)

    Once again, thank you!

  5. Hi!  I’ve never posted in the forums here before, so I’m not sure if this is the right place, but my fiancée (sponsor) and I have run into an issue.

We have received our NOA2 and have started collecting the required documents for the next step.  We’re currently working on getting a letter from her place of work, and they’re being difficult.

Her head of HR and her boss both outright refuse to write the letter for her about how long she’s worked there, etc, and instead keep telling her that an “Employment Verification” company report is good enough.  My fiancée called the company that does the report and they told her that their reports are NOT viable for USCIS or immigration because the company isn’t registered for that, and that my fiancée has to get the letter from the company.

    Back to square one.

She’s getting extremely frustrated with her work, and honestly so am I.

We’re just wondering if anyone has any advice on what to do at this point?

    Thank you so much!
