Not sure what you meant for green sheet of paper  but what I know once your wife got a notification with WAC number that means that USCIS accepted your wife application, and yes your wife should expect NOA1 (18 months extension)

when it comes to processing specially for CSC, it will take more than a year to process.

It was just a green sheet of paper that indicated that our first application was rejected and welcoming us to re-submit a new application but to include that green sheet of paper on top of new application.  But like I pointed out we do have a receipt number beginning with WAC; but we have not received our extension letter and we have a trip coming up on Nov 4th, 2018 which is really why we are stressing out.

  2. Not sure how to edit my original post but turns out the text message my wife received does contain a receipt number starting with WAC which is for Western Application Center a.k.a. California Service Center.  When I input this number in the USCIS website and when I called the 1-800 number all it says is that the fingerprint fee was accepted on 9/28 and that a notice of how the case will be processed will be sent by mail. Anyone know if this is standard procedure for 18-month extension letter?

  3. My wife's I-751 application was rejected due to my mistake of sending in the wrong filing fee.  We finally got it back on Oct. 6th but it was after my wife's GC expired (9/28).  However, rather than waiting for the application to be returned and then send a new application, we sent out a new one on 9/24 that way we would still be within the 90-day filing period.  On 9/26 they received the new application and money was cashed on 10/1.  On 10/1 my wife received a text message saying the official notice would follow in mail.  I am a little concerned because I have been reading other posters who received the same text message only it had a receipt number as well.  Also, the application that was rejected had a green sheet of paper that basically stated "to be placed on top of application." So here are my questions in case anyone has deal with the same issue:

    1. Would not including the green sheet of paper have any effect in terms of delays on the new application?

    2. If my wife received a text message saying application was accepted and notice would follow in the mail, would that mean to expect the NOA1 extension letter in mail?

    3. Would the fact that others received a receipt notice in their text message be an indication that our application has not been accepted?

    Thanks.

    Hi all!

We sent in our i-751 and packet to the California center via FedEx on September 12th. It was confirmed as delivered on the 17th. We haven't heard from USCIS yet, and my husband plans to travel abroad next month for Diwali. The check has not been deducted from our account. Is this in the normal time frame still? Any advice? Thank you!

Just an FYI, as of September 10th I believe, all applications should be sent to USCIS Lockbox in Phoenix which will then turn it over to California Service Center (only they know why they do this). I think this is why there is such a delay.  One of my friends sent in an I-751 back in July and they received their extension letter within a week of the check being cashed.

    Hi everyone!

My 2yr green card expired on 5 October. I sent off all the paperwork on 21st of August, to California and paid for priority mail express so I know it definitely arrived. There's nothing especially unusual in our case as far as I can see, but I've not even had the receipt yet, and I thought it usually took 2-3 weeks for that to come through.

Has anyone seen a delay this year?

Is there anyone we can contact? The only thing I saw on the USCIS website was a chat bot and that didn't help, and without a receipt I can't do the check status thing.

I am hoping to go back to the UK for Christmas and I know I'll need my expired green card and the receipt to travel (right)? As much as anything else if makes me nervous knowing I'm here without the correct paperwork!

    Thanks in advance :)

    Rebecca,

Do you know if your check has been cashed?  Usually this is the first step that USCIS will take and is a good idea of whether or not your application is good to go.  If it has not been cashed there is a good chance your application is going to be rejected for one reason or another especially since you filed over a month ago. My wife's application was rejected due to sending in the incorrect filing fee. We sent it on August 24th, California Service Center received it on Aug. 27 and we got it back on October 6th.  In case it helps.

Have you tracked when the application was received by USCIS?

This happened to one of my friend and she did not know the amount was wrong until USCIS sent back all the package and notified for wrong amount. It took about 2 weeks if I'm not wrong. Her service center was VSC. Let wait for a little bit more if you are sure that USCIS received your package.

Yeah, I sent it with signature confirmation and someone at CSC signed for it on Aug 27th.  And when I called the customer service number they said to give it about 21 days which would be next week.  I'm hoping it will arrive this week so that I can send it back just in time before my wife's GC expires.  I read that I can file it late with an explanation.  If I go that route, I would provide the signature confirmation, the phone call to customer service and the stamped envelope by USPS that I filed on time just that I sent wrong filing fee and that it took forever to get it back.  Another route would be to just send a complete new application packet to the new lockbox address.  I'll wait until next Monday to decide what to do.

Since September 10, you now have to send it to a lockbox: https://www.uscis.gov/unassigned/filing-location-change-form-i-751. When you resend the packet, payment with a credit card is now an option: https://www.uscis.gov/news/news-releases/uscis-expands-credit-card-payment-option-fees. Thus, a quick way to get credit card rewards, for applicable credit card programs.

Thank you for the information. Great to know.  I sent it originally to CSC on Aug 24 and they received it on Aug 27th.

  8. Good morning everyone.  First time poster here and I wanted your input to our situation.  Basically, I filed our I-751 with CSC on Aug. 27th.  My wife's GC expires on Sept 28, 2018.  However, I sent it the check for the incorrect amount.  It is now Sept. 11th, 2018 and we have not received the rejection notice and we live in San Diego, which is about an hour south of Laguna Niguel where CSC is located.   I called the USCIS phone number and I was told to give it 3 weeks for the rejection letter to be sent.  I'm not panicking just yet and I understand I would just have to re-send the application with the correct amount on the check.  Are there any other options other than waiting for the rejected application to be returned to me?  If let's say by the 24th of September I have not received anything back, could I just send a whole other I-751 with the correct amount on the check or would that just make things worse? Any input or past experiences would greatly be appreciated.  Thanks in advance.
