Thanks God! I received my US Passport book on Friday 9.25.2020.

So, it took 2 months and 5 days since I filed. Not 5 months like people said before!

Well that is for me I guess. I was told that by USPS officer. You dont need to be cynical! There s no place to check that. He told me 5 months, i got my passport less than a month. Its bcuz of him, i canceled my trip.

Yeah, I waited for an hour and half too for my interview. But my interview was really quick and professional.
Congratulations you too! Yeah I need to apply for the passport and all the rest of the things too. It still doesn't feel over yet, especially given the huge lines for the passport where I have to mail away the paper that took so long to get 🤔

I did it via USPS. Beacuse i c did not have check from my bank(i know i need a checkbook), i went to USPS. He took my photo, chekced my documents, fixed my mistakes on paper, charged me full price and divided to 2 checks. It was all in 10 minutes. I recommend that.

Hey guys, just an update that I had my interview today and received my certificate.😊

I received a notification on case status two weeks ago. I called them up on the same day to find out the interview date. I received the paper interview notice within 3 days after that in the mail. But the online notice never showed up on my account.

I went in 15 min before my appointment. I thought I couldn't bring my cellphone inside, but I learned that I can indeed bring them inside now as long you don't use it as a recording device.

I waited for about an hour and a half before they called me for the interview, most other people were called fairly quickly though. They even skipped my number. But my interview was fairly short vs the other people were in there for more than half hour on average. I was done within like 15 min. The person before me was told that they would be given video interview, but mine was in person. There weren't many people there, it was not crowded at all.

My interview was pretty straightforward. Just quickly went over all the questions in my application, then the English and civics test. Then the oath ceremony right away. And I was told to wait outside for my certificate, which I received within a few minutes.

Thank you all for posting your experiences here. This was immensely helpful during these times of so much uncertainty. This was the only window into the realistic timelines out there and also all the info here has been super helpful.

we kinda had similar experience. While i was waiting approval (bcuz the pc were slow and i had virtual interview) he told me that if i had my phone with me i can open and play with it.

i waited about an hour and half and my interview was around 45 mins but 30 mins was waiting for slow pc (virtual interview is slower than f2f)

congratulations, apply passport asap, huge line for it.

  4. Hello guys, I just want to share my interview from today.

I arrived there at 7:00 am and went in. I waited on the line for photo an finger scan. I went upstairs and waited like an hour although my number was 7.

The lady called my number and she said "your interview will be different than others. Your interview will be "virtual" (be ready for this)

So, I entered the room, she left. There was an Ipad and an officer on zoom/skype. He said hello. I am officer ..., you can take of your mask, no one will be here other than us.

Asked my legal name, date of birth, phone number, and address. and next was civic test.

    questions:

What stops one branch of government from becoming too powerful?

What do we show loyalty to when we say the Pledge of Allegiance?

Why does the flag have 13 stripes?

Why does the flag have 50 stars?

What did Martin Luther King, Jr. do?

What is one thing Benjamin Franklin is famous for?

    written test

he wanted me to write -> Columbus day is in October.

    Reading test:

he wanted me read -> The president lives in White House

thats it. After those, lots of YES/NO questions from your application

We spent like 10 minutes extra beacuse I served in Army in my coutry and I had a weapon training. So he asked me lots of questions.

We waited like 10 minutes. His superior approved my application and he askmed me " Are you ready for oath? " I said "yes"

We did the oath ceremony and I got my neutralization paper for aply passport.. He clapped me and said "you are US citizen now, you can celebrate".

Thats all. If you guys have any extra questions, I will be here.

  5. So my interview is on Wednesday.

1- I memorized all 100 questions, no problem there.

2- I am still waiting for my appointment paper in mail.

3- I have a file folder. == Inside -> Green card x 2, my passport, SSN card, Selective Service paper, Marriage Certificate, 2017-2018-2019 Tax returns, Car insurance last 12 months, joint health and dental insurance,  our house insurance, last 8 months (all 2020) bank statements from joint account, my school transcript if needed , my first entry to the US in 2014, our birth certificates, last 3 years all notice of actions.

They approved my I-751 but because I had citizenship interview coming up soon they didn’t make a new card for me because I would have had to give it back anyway.
