Have you been in the Phils for 6 months or more?   You will need an ECC from B-I  (Exit Clearance Certificate)

So i went to BI today and they told me that i dont need one and that i can just go to the airport and essentially 'check out' there, but all of the information online suggests that I would need to get an ECC. I really hope they dont screw me. We even showed them the requirements suggested online.

  3. Hello, So this month our CR1 Visa was approved and we are planning to leave the Philippines in a week and a half. Everything with my spouse is complete, but I was wondering if I (the petitioner) would need to notify the Filipino immigration Bureau that I am leaving to reside back in the US. My Acr card is only valid until the later part of this year, and I don't know if I could just leave the Philippines and not come back or if it would cause any troubles on re-entry.

  4. Hello, congrats on getting approved!

My wife and I also just got our case number this week (almost the exact same amount of time as you) and we are just wondering if you have paid any fees or anything online when completing the DS-260 and other online forms. All the instructions given to us tell us to get and agent and pay fees, but when we look the IV Fees say "N/A" and we can't seem to click onto anything. We have scheduled our appointment for the 2nd week of March and completed the DS-260 but we haven't seen any kind of fees to pay. Also (if you don't mind me asking) what are you bringing with you to the interview to prove domicile in the US?

  5. My wife and I recently got married July 29th in the Philippines. We are planning to do the DCF method in Manila as soon as possible, as it seems to be the quickest way for both of us to get to the US together. One thing we are worried about is that I have in the Philippines for atleast 6 months. My last entry into the Philippines was June 16th and I have been there ever since. I should be getting my ACR-I card this week but only in a tourist status. We have both been living at her parents house during this time, so my residency has just been there.

Will me only being a tourist for 6 months validate my residency? or do I need to file for filipino residency? Also will my 6 months be 6 months from Jun 16th or will it be 6 months from when my ACR-I card happens?

Just trying to make sure staying in the philippines would be faster than going back to the US and filing by mail, and is there any way to make it faster?
