my fiance called the NVC yesterday and was told that our case has been forwarded to our consulate already...a very nice gift to receive for valentines...HAPPY HEART'S DAY TO ONE AND ALL
Congratulations!

I received the NOA1 dated 2/7/07 last week.
Today I received an email confirmation of the NOA2! One week! That's amazing and almost too good to be true!
God bless the Vermont Service Center!
This makes the Valentine's Day wonderful, knowing that although we're apart right now, soon we'll be together. I called her and told her right away.

That's what I did for my fiancee's patronymic: listed it as her middle name, since it essentially is a middle name.

Thanks for your help!

I just got the papers from my fiancee in the mail, and going over everything, I noticed that she filled out an older version of the G-235a and signed it and sent it to me. On the instruction sheet of the new version, it doesn't say anything as explicit as the new I-129f ("This will be sent back, blahblahblah..."), but there's also no expiration date on the new one.
Would CIS not accept the petition with this version of the G-235a? If not, I'll have to get her to fill out a new one and mail it to me...another few weeks of delays!
I'm a newb at this so any advice would be appreciated!

I don't know about many places around Northern Virginia. My coworker just got into a co-op town-house that is incredibly pricey in the Greenbelt area, but there are several co-ops that are really safe with good schools and very family-oriented. Silver Spring is decent and still on the metro line.
I'm a grad studying education right now, so I'll inquire with my professors and classmates (many of whom have children) which areas might have the best schools, etc., while you're looking into the other leads.
